Fractured Skies

As Kaelen stared in horror at the massive meteor hurtling towards the kingdom, the weight of the situation began to crush him. Suddenly, he felt a sudden, intense pressure bearing down on him, making his knees buckle and forcing him to drop to the ground, he struggles to keep himself upright.

Above him, Gravis hovered with an air of cold authority. His voice cut through the chaos with a detached and clinical tone.

"So you can see it?"

Kaelen was twisted in pain, he tried his hardest to looked up at the man above. The crushing gravity made it nearly impossible to speak, but he managed to ask:

"What... do you mean?"

Gravis' expression remained impassive, but his voice carried a chilling certainty.

"With Liora's power, no one inside the kingdom will be able to see the doom that is approaching them. The meteor is a catastrophe that will unfold without warning, hidden by her Mirari."

He paused, allowing the gravity to press down harder on Kaelen, as he savors the moment.

"I assume you were outside the kingdom's walls when she cast her spell, given that you can witness the Meteor. Liora's conjuration will ensures that the citizens remain oblivious to the impending disaster."

Gravis' voice echoed coldly as he hovered above Kaelen.

"So long, kid. Bad luck running into me."

Kaelen let out a scream of agony as the weight pressing down on him increased, with each second passing by, the pressure became more unbearable for him. He fought to stay conscious, but his vision was slowly blurring and his strength was waning. Just when it seemed like he might lose consciousness, shadowy arms began to emerge from the rooftop ground in front of him. They reached out towards Gravis, disrupting his focus and momentarily breaking the gravity that had pinned Kaelen down.

With the pressure slowy subsiding, Kaelen's eyes fluttered open. Through the haze of pain, he saw a familiar figure standing in front of him. 

"You're... Madam Nyx"

Madam Nyx has her attention solely on Gravis, she then glanced briefly at Kaelen.

"Try not to move too much, boy."

She advised Kaelen with a calm but urgent voice

As she took in Kaelen's battered form, her eyes widened slightly. The sight before her was grim: Kaelen's black armor were torn, shredded, and stained with blood, his face was full of bruises and cuts, and his body was covered in abrasions. It was clear that he had been through a severe beating.

'How is he still able to move despite those injuries?'

She shook off her surprise and refocused on the immediate danger. Madam Nyx's eyes were locked onto Gravis with a steely resolve.

"Your friend managed to fool me in the sanctuary by stalling me with a clone of his. I guess I was getting rusty; I should've noticed those petty tricks."

Gravis's lips curled into a smirk.

"You're too late."

With a swift, fluid motion, Madam Nyx summoned her shadow powers. Dark, writhing tendrils emerged from the ground and walls, forming multiple shadowy arms that lashed out at Gravis. Each arm moved with a predatory precision, aiming to ensnare or strike him.

Gravis countered with his own formidable gravity powers. As the shadowy limbs reached him, he manipulated the gravitational forces to deflect or distort their path. A gravitational field rippled around him, bending the shadows away and causing them to lose their trajectory. When Nyx's shadows coiled around him, he compressed the gravity in that spot, causing the shadows to collapse and dissipate under the intense pressure.

Despite Gravis's attempts to maintain control, Nyx's shadows continued to assault him from various angles. She then used her powers to create massive barriers of shadowy energy, attempting to push against the descending meteor. Each barrier she formed was a desperate attempt to repel the meteor's catastrophic impact, but Gravis was relentless.

He manipulated the gravity around the barriers, making them distort and falter. The barriers wavered and, despite Madam Nyx's best efforts, they couldn't hold. Gravis' gravity waves struck with crushing force, disrupting the barriers and making her attempts to counter the meteor increasingly difficult.

Madam Nyx, who was grimly determined, persisted in her efforts to shield the kingdom. She summoned a giant, swirling vortex of shadows, creating a last-ditch effort to deflect the meteor. As she wove her magic with intense concentration, the meteor's descent seemed to slow momentarily. But Gravis, seizing the opportunity, intensified his gravity manipulations, overwhelming her defenses and causing the vortex to collapse.

As the meteor continued its relentless descent, the fight between Madam Nyx and Gravis became a desperate struggle for survival, with each side pushing their powers to the limit in a high-stakes clash of elemental forces.

As Kaelen hovered on the edge of consciousness, his eyes were fixed on the chaotic battle between Madam Nyx and the man, he realized the gravity of the situation. He understood that Madam Nyx's efforts alone wouldn't be enough to deal with the massive meteor descending upon the kingdom.

'Shit!'

Summoning every last ounce of strength he had, Kaelen focused on his astral resonance. With great effort, he conjured a large, swirling mass of black flames. The air around the flames shimmered and crackled with a strange, electrifying energy as the inferno pulsed with intense heat.

Madam Nyx was momentarily distracted from her battle with Gravis, she then glanced towards Kaelen and saw the dark flames forming, causing her eyes to widened in alarm.

"Boy!"

Kaelen had his gaze fixed solely on the meteor, he was oblivious to his surroundings. His vision was consumed by the looming disaster above, and he knew this was his only chance. With a final, resolute effort, he hurled the massive black flame toward the meteor with all his strength.

As the dark inferno left his hands, Kaelen's body succumbed to the strain. He coughed violently, spitting blood from his mouth as the exertion took its toll, he can felt a stinging pain all across his body as the black flames soared through the air, streaking toward the meteor.

The flames collided with the meteor, engulfing it in a tempest of dark fire. For a moment, the meteor's descent seemed to waver as the intense heat from the flames meeting the cold, unyielding rock. The impact caused a violent explosion of dark light and energy, shaking the very fabric of the sky.

Kaelen strength was spent, he collapsed to the ground as his vision was dimming. The outcome of his desperate action was uncertain, but he had done everything he could to fend off the impending disaster.

Gravis, watching the massive black flames collided with the meteor, hissed in frustration as he saw the resulting explosion darkens the sky.

"Tch! Onto the next phase then."
