A Quick Spar

Kaelen blinked, still processing Thane's words.

"You want to spar?" he repeated, his voice carrying a note of disbelief.

Thane grinned.

"That's right. A spar. You and me."

Without another word, the red-haired warrior extended his arm, and in a swift motion, summoned his reliable claymore. The sheer weight of the weapon should have been unwieldy, but in Thane's grip, the massive blade moved with ease.

Kaelen raised a brow.

"That eager, huh?"

Thane rolled his shoulders.

"Of course. But let's do this properly—with the methods my master drilled into me."

Kaelen narrowed his eyes slightly. "What kind of rules are we talking about?"

Thane smirked.

"Simple. First, we're only allowed to use our Veil once. No spamming it."

That sounded fair enough. The last time Kaelen had a pure swordfight without relying on the Veil was when he sparred with Serephira. And, of course, he could never win against her.
