THE GREAT SACRIFICE

Meanwhile, Hetul wondered in the forest with his pet. 'I mean why is she so fucking upset with me getting close to her sister?' Hetul asked himself then continued. 'It's not my fault that she is so over-protective towards her sister, she think that I cause mayhem, but wasn't it because of her that her father's soldiers are about to invade our village?' Hetul asked pausing… 'I need to warn Carmella' Hetul said running backwards the way he came.

Sayee and Polami went the same way that Carmella went. Carmella struggles to walk as she leaped with one leg. She decides to rest on a rock. She uses a strap from a banana peel to tie her injured leg. Suddenly some soldiers caught up to her. She was attacked! Immediately the soldier wanted to stab her, she closed her eyes and suddenly she heard a sound like a piercing through one's body but it wasn't hers.

She opens her eyes slowly and sees that Hetul, he had stabbed the soldier and tossed his body aside. They both hugged. 'Oh Hetul I thought would never see you again' Carmella said. 'Me too' Hetul replied. 'I'm sorry for what my sister did earlier' Carmella said. 'It's ok, you do not need to apologize on her behalf, besides I understand what it means having someone looking after you and being over-zealous in performing their duty' Hetul replied.

'So where are the others?' Hetul asked. 'Who?' Carmella asked. 'Your sister and her friend' Hetul replied. 'Well… I left them to come look for you' Carmella replied. 'What?' Hetul asked with confusion. 'Yes, after what my sister did, I was so angry that I wanted to do something so fucking drastic but I had to leave' Carmella replied. 'You should not have left them, they could be in danger' Hetul said. 'I am sorry' Carmella replied hugging Hetul after a while they released. 'So let's go look for your sister' Hetul said helping Carmella up from the rock in which she was leaning.

'Sayee, please I need to do this, if not for anything at least for my sister' Polami said. 'I can't let you do this, your sister will be…' Sayee said when she was being cut off by Polami. 'Angry? Scared? No, I need to do this for her, I have done enough harm to her already, let me find solution to my problem, please' Polami said. 'I can't let you do this, you can't….' Sayee said as she was rudely interrupted by Polami. 'Please, I am done trying to be the overzealous one, I want to be free from all this, please' Polami said holding Sayee's both arms firmly. 'It's fine, you can do it, go….' Sayee said.

Sayee reached where Carmella and Hetul were. Sayee laid Carmella against a tree with the support of Hetul. 'Where is my sister?' Carmella asked as there was no response from Sayee. 'Where is Polami?' Hetul asked with rage written all over his face. Sayee struggled to speak. 'S-Sh-She went to…' Sayee said as she stopped. 'She went to do what?' Hetul asked. 'She went to turn herself in' Sayee finally spoke. 'Turn herself into what?' Carmella asked. 'She went to turn herself to the King' Sayee replied.

'No' Carmella said. 'What does she mean "She went to turn herself in"?' Hetul asked. 'My father is after us, she went to give herself and face her judgment' Carmella replied. 'Why would she do such?' Hetul asked. 'She wanted to keep you and me safe' Sayee replied. 'Safe, how? By putting her life on the line?' Carmella asked. 'She was the reason your father chased after us and she was also tired of causing you pain, so she said, she had to do what she had to do to make your father get his mind off you and Hetul, me and the entire village' Sayee said.

'We need to stop her before she crosses the border' Hetul said. 'No she said we should go visit Old Man Hawm and find out what we came here for' Sayee replied. 'No, I am not following you guys anywhere until I set my eyes on my sister' Carmella said almost bursting into tears. 'We can't go back ok, she did this for us, she is putting her fucking life on the line for us and I won't risk her sacrifice for anything' Sayee out bursting, there was silence and then she continued. 'I kept on playing cool all this time, and I won't any more now who is with me?' Sayee said raising up her hand. 'Yah, we are all with you let's go' Hetul said.

'Ah, my leg' Carmella exclaimed. 'We need to wash her leg in the River of Souls' Sayee said. 'Ok, let me carry her' Hetul said carrying her like a baby. She held him in his arms as firmly as she whispered 'Thank you'. They both journeyed through the stormy mountains, rainy rain forests and rocky valleys to meet Old Man Hawm.

Meanwhile......

At the river, Polami sailed on the boat, she used the paddle to paddle back to her village. She turned back half way shedding tears. She faced forward and said 'I have to go back to my village, I need to make things right even if that is the last thing I do' Polami said wiping the tears off her cheeks.

Sayee was lost thinking about how Polami was going to fare after the decision she made. She was not sure whether she made the right decision by telling Polami the truth. She wondered why she brought up the topic. She never wanted the truth to put any one she loved in danger or any form of harm. She kept on thinking about what Polami would do when she reached her village. Carmella and Hetul were discussing whatever topics came to their minds. They did not even notice Sayee was lost in thought thinking about the well-being of Polami, if she would return dead or alive.
