Zhang Zheng's Home
Although still sulking, Angel Leng was true to her word. The next morning, she took Lingxi for a tour around Earth.
Zhang Zheng, on the other hand, was waiting in the living room with Zhi Xin for Monkey King's arrival. As a Chinese, every boy has dreamed of the Monkey King during their childhood. Even though he was a super warrior from the Shinto civilization, his legends were very real here.
"Zhi Xin, the guest arriving soon is the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong. Every boy in our China has some admiration for him during their childhood. So, let's try not to cause any conflicts with him, okay?" Zhang Zheng decided to give Zhi Xin a heads-up. Sun Wukong was very proud, and Angels were also very proud. He was worried they might clash, though he was thankful that Angel Leng and Lingxi were out.
Zhi Xin looked at Zhang Zheng with a smile, amused by how even her powerful idol had a childish side. Since she knew about Sun Wukong's return last night, she was aware that Zhang Zheng hadn't slept much. He spent the entire night telling her stories about Sun Wukong. Although Zhi Xin was probably more knowledgeable about these stories than Zhang Zheng, she patiently listened to him.
"Sure, Zhang Zheng's idol is also Zhi Xin's idol. Zhi Xin won't have any conflicts with him," she reassured Zhang Zheng.
There was a knock on the door. Zhi Xin was about to open it, but Zhang Zheng was already at the door.
Zhi Xin saw Zhang Zheng adjusting his hair and nervously fiddling with his hands. It was quite cute.
As if prepared, Zhang Zheng took a deep breath and quickly opened the door.
Seeing Sun Wukong at the door, Zhang Zheng went up to him immediately, shook his hand, and said, "Monkey King, welcome! Please come in."
Without acknowledging Lingxi, Zhang Zheng led Sun Wukong into the living room, calling out to Zhi Xin, "Zhi Xin, this is the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, our China's superhero."
Then he turned to Sun Wukong, "Great Sage, this is my wife, Angel Zhi Xin, the right-wing guardian of the Sacred Kesha."
Lingxi, seeing Zhang Zheng open the door, had intended to greet him, but Zhang Zheng had already walked past her, eagerly pulling Sun Wukong into the living room without even glancing at her.
Lingxi's mouth twitched in irritation. She knew that Sun Wukong was popular among boys, especially in modern times where information was abundant. But she hadn't expected Zhang Zheng, the god of Earth, to be so enamored with Sun Wukong that he completely ignored her, even though she was a beautiful woman.
As a result, Lingxi stood awkwardly at the door, unsure whether to enter or leave.
Zhi Xin noticed this and first greeted Sun Wukong before quickly inviting Lingxi into the living room. "Sergeant Lingxi, you're here too! Sorry, I didn't see you earlier."
Zhang Zheng finally noticed Lingxi and greeted her.
Lingxi's mouth twitched again at the comment, "You're here too?" She was already in front of you the whole time.
Although Lingxi was upset, she endured it since she needed Zhang Zheng's help.
Sun Wukong was stunned by Zhang Zheng's enthusiasm and found himself unaccustomed to it. People weren't afraid of him anymore. Had the world changed so quickly?
In the past, wherever he went, people would scream and be afraid. He had to hide in Flower-Fruit Mountain and quietly protect the world.
But a thousand years later, no matter where he went, people would surround him, with some even daring to greet him.
He tolerated this behavior from ordinary people, but Zhang Zheng, a god, being so warm was hard for him to accept.
"Young man, could you please let go of my hand?" Sun Wukong said, struggling a bit.
Zhang Zheng realized he had been too enthusiastic and quickly released his grip, offering a banana from the coffee table. "Oh, Great Sage, have some fruit."
"No need. I don't eat bananas," Sun Wukong politely declined.
"Oh, I remember now. The Great Sage likes peaches," Zhang Zheng said, picking a peach from the table and offering it to Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong was about to refuse but seeing the variety of fruits on the table, he accepted the peach, saying, "Young man, I'm injured. General Du said you could help heal me, so I came to see if you could help."
"I can't treat injuries, but I can restore you to your peak condition," Zhang Zheng said, becoming serious as the conversation turned to business.
"Then please help me recover. Demons are invading the place Master protects. I must protect him," Sun Wukong said earnestly, setting aside his pride to seek Zhang Zheng's assistance.
"Don't worry, Great Sage," Zhang Zheng assured him. "Protecting the world is also my duty. We can start the restoration now. Please follow me."
Zhang Zheng led Sun Wukong to a vacant room. Lingxi had wanted to follow but was stopped by Zhi Xin.
Zhi Xin knew if Zhang Zheng wanted Lingxi to know about the treatment, he wouldn't have taken Sun Wukong to another room. Zhang Zheng preferred not to have the Battle Team overly rely on his time powers.
Liu Chuang was carefree and wouldn't think much of it, but Lingxi and Du Ka'ao would exploit any power they could use. Zhang Zheng thought that was undesirable.
Once inside the room, Zhang Zheng closed the door and said, "Great Sage, I hope you won't tell anyone about what happens next."
With that, Zhang Zheng put on the Infinity Gauntlet. The green light enveloped Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong's once heavily scarred golden armor visibly healed rapidly, and his dark energy increased continuously. When the light faded, his dark energy even surpassed that of the Demon Queen Morgana.
Zhang Zheng looked at Sun Wukong's impressive aura and thought, This is the majesty that the Great Sage should have.
"Young man, well done. You've managed to restore my body to its condition from over a thousand years ago."
"I haven't felt this good in a long time. Rest assured, I'll fulfill the promise. The power of time is indeed formidable, and I won't mention it to anyone."
"However, it's been a while since I've fought. Would you like to spar with me to warm up for tonight's action?" Sun Wukong, feeling great, understood Zhang Zheng's concerns about over-reliance on time powers and was eager to test his skills.
"Sure, I'd like to know the prowess of the Great Sage. I also heard you had a match with Pan Zhen from Liyang."
"There was such a time, but General Du said we are allies now, so let's not dwell on the past."
Zhang Zheng was pleasantly surprised by Sun Wukong's understanding, which made him respect the Great Sage even more.
"Alright, Great Sage, let's go."
With that, Zhang Zheng activated a portal in the room.
