Chapter 143

Tianhe City, Zhang Zheng's Home.

After Ge Xiaolun left, the atmosphere in Zhang Zheng's home became somewhat tense.

"Zhang Zheng, do we really have to consume this?" Zhixin asked, looking conflicted as she held the Void Controller in her hand. This went against the principles she had always upheld.

"Yes, go ahead and eat it. This ability is really useful. Just think about it—resources in the universe are limited. With the Void Controller, you can create anything you want out of thin air. It's convenient and environmentally friendly!" Zhang Zheng said somewhat playfully, trying to comfort her, although his words were not entirely convincing.

Zhang Zheng felt for Zhixin and didn't want to see her so troubled, but for her safety, he decided to be firm.

"Alright, if you want me to eat it, I will," Zhixin said, seeing Zhang Zheng's determination. Without further argument, she brought the Void Controller to her lips, and with a delicate motion, she swallowed it.

"Ugh…" Zhixin's face contorted in pain as she felt discomfort in her stomach.

Zhang Zheng immediately sat beside her, pulling her close into his arms.

This was a normal reaction—Ge Xiaolun had gone through the same thing. However, as a warrior of the angels, Zhixin's tolerance was much higher than Ge Xiaolun's, who was just a college student. Unlike him, she didn't roll on the floor in agony.

Watching Zhixin struggle to endure the pain, Zhang Zheng thought of how long Ge Xiaolun had suffered and decided to carry Zhixin back to the bedroom.

Yan watched them go and followed quietly.

Seeing how gently Zhang Zheng laid Zhixin down on the bed, a beautiful smile curved on Yan's lips. She felt reassured that she had chosen the right person—her "god" was indeed attentive and gentle.

After laying Zhixin down, Zhang Zheng turned his gaze to Yan.

"Alright, alright," Yan sighed, reading his thoughts. She also swallowed her Void Controller and then lay down next to Zhixin on her own accord.

"That's a good girl," Zhang Zheng muttered. His hands began to emit a soft yellow light, enveloping Zhixin and Yan. Soon, they both closed their eyes and fell into a peaceful sleep.

Once they were asleep, Zhang Zheng scanned their bodies with his mind power and, finding nothing wrong, he left the room. At the door, he didn't forget to use his spatial power to protect the room.

"Zhang Zheng, how are Yan and Zhixin?" Angel Leng asked with concern as he stepped out. If she hadn't witnessed Ge Xiaolun consuming the Void Controller, she might have lost her temper when Zhixin showed signs of pain. It was hard to see an angel warrior in such distress.

"Don't worry, Leng. I checked their bodies—they're both fine," Zhang Zheng reassured her.

This time, Zhang Zheng didn't clash with Angel Leng. After all, she was genuinely concerned about Yan and Zhixin, and Zhang Zheng was grateful for her care. Though Leng could be sharp-tongued, her character was trustworthy.

"That's good to hear," Leng sighed in relief after hearing that the two were alright.

"Leng, Queen Kaisa is about to arrive. You should be cautious and avoid any conflicts with the Xiongbing Company. It wouldn't be good for anyone," Zhang Zheng advised, thinking of the tension between Leng and Ge Xiaolun and considering Kaisa's temperament. He didn't want Ge Xiaolun's wings to be sealed again, which would significantly weaken his combat effectiveness.

"Yes, I'll stay alert for any news of the Queen. If she comes to Earth, I'll head over immediately," Leng replied, not in the mood to argue with Zhang Zheng. Given that this involved Ge Xiaolun, she couldn't afford to be careless.

As for Zhang Zheng, Leng understood that while he was also protecting Earth, he clearly didn't want to get too involved in the potential conflict between Earth and the angels. Especially with his connection to Yan, he seemed to lack the confidence to face Queen Kaisa.

"Lingxi, you should go too. Don't let Chuangzi and your queen clash. With his temper, he might really do something reckless," Zhang Zheng added, thinking about how Liu Chuang had cursed at Morgana. He wanted to remind Lingxi to avoid any unnecessary conflicts.

Lingxi hadn't yet made her vows, and if Kaisa didn't approve, there would be no hope for her and Liu Chuang. Zhang Zheng had already noticed that the younger angels' admiration and devotion to Kaisa were almost fanatical. If Kaisa disapproved, even if Lingxi liked Liu Chuang, she wouldn't stay with him.

"Thank you, god," Lingxi replied gratefully, her cheeks blushing.

While Zhang Zheng chatted and bantered with the two angel girls, a dramatic transformation was occurring within the dark realms of Zhixin and Yan's minds. Unlike Ge Xiaolun, who took time to adapt, the angel sisters had access to a shared knowledge base. As Holy Wings, Zhixin and Yan had permissions second only to Kaisa and Hexi, making it easier for them to integrate the Void Controller.

(The Void Controller will continue to be called "Xiongxin" because I'm not great at naming things.)

As the Xiongxin was constructed, it quickly progressed beyond version 1.0, skipping to 2.0 and finally stopping at the combat version. It wasn't that they lacked the knowledge to go further, but rather they didn't know in which direction to develop it further. (Mainly because my imagination isn't that big.)

Though both had the combat version of Xiongxin, their core computing speed was twice that of Ge Xiaolun's. This was considering that Ge Xiaolun's Xiongxin was linked to Xiao Shizhong Qian Kun. If they connected to the Tianblade system, their speed would increase even further.

This made sense—Ge Xiaolun, despite his limitless potential, currently had only 10% of his brain capacity unlocked, while the angels were at 43%, making them incomparable.

In the morning, as sunlight streamed into the room, Zhixin and Yan slowly opened their eyes, the first sight being their god, Zhang Zheng.

"Awake? How do you feel?" Zhang Zheng asked gently.

"Mm, nothing uncomfortable. I feel like my processing power has improved," Zhixin replied. A faint glow appeared in her hand, and as her delicate fingers brushed across the bedside table, an identical pencil appeared next to the one in the pencil holder.

Seeing Zhixin's demonstration, Yan didn't bother to show off. Instead, she teasingly said, "I feel like I could crush you now," while giving Zhang Zheng a playful look.

"Ha, it's just an illusion. Yan, remember, this is the illusion of sudden power—take it as a warning," Zhang Zheng replied, accepting Yan's flirtation with a serious tone.

After speaking, he gave both Zhixin and Yan a kiss on the corner of their mouths as a morning greeting.

Yan rolled her eyes at Zhang Zheng's words, though she still blushed slightly at the kiss. Zhixin, on the other hand, was unfazed, already used to being around Zhang Zheng.

"Get up, let's go have breakfast," Zhang Zheng said as he headed out without waiting for the two women.

By the time Zhixin and Yan joined them, Angel Leng and Lingxi were already eating.

"Mmm," Zhang Zheng murmured as he stepped out of the kitchen with a plate in hand. Sensing a shift in energy, he extended his mind power into the depths of the universe.

"Leng, Lingxi. Queen Kaisa has entered the solar system. She'll arrive on Earth in about an hour," Zhang Zheng informed them.

"What! The Queen is coming so soon?" Lingxi suddenly felt nervous. She wasn't prepared for this, and now that the Queen was arriving so early, she didn't know what to do!

"Don't worry, Lingxi. I'm here," Angel Leng reassured her, staying calm. She had thought it over all night and decided that if things got out of hand, she would drag Zhang Zheng into it. Leng had realized that the Queen held Zhang Zheng in high regard; otherwise, she wouldn't have granted him her Holy Wings.

Although Angel Leng still didn't see what was so attractive about Zhang Zheng, it was clear that the Queen valued him highly.
