Giant Gorge.
Ge Xiaolun and the others were in a good mood initially, but a piece of news quickly dampened their spirits.
Ducao looked at the assembled Super Soldier Unit below and spoke in a somber tone: "Comrades, just now, all global communications were lost. And before they went down, we captured a series of images."
As Ducao finished speaking, a clear image appeared on the large screen.
Two enormous demonic wings and seven massive warships of the Gluttons appeared on the screen.
"Sir, what should we do? Without communications, even if I use the Xionghxin to reestablish contact, it will take some time."
"In that time, we won't be able to communicate with the outside world. If the Gluttons attack us, we won't know where to send reinforcements."
Ge Xiaolun, who had grown somewhat more mature, quickly got to the point.
Ducao paused upon hearing Ge Xiaolun's words.
It wasn't that Ducao hadn't considered the issue, but rather he hadn't expected Ge Xiaolun—who usually daydreamed about his daughter—to think of it.
"That's not something you need to worry about. Although our satellite communications have been destroyed, we..."
Before Ducao could finish, the sudden blare of an alarm rang out aboard the Giant Gorge.
"General Ducao, multiple large Glutton warships have appeared above the Giant Gorge."
Ruanfeng glanced at the monitoring equipment and quickly reported the situation to Ducao.
Upon hearing Ruanfeng's report, not only did Ducao's expression change, but so did those of Ge Xiaolun and the others.
"Damn, those Gluttons are coming straight for us! Saves us the trouble of finding them," Liu Chuang exclaimed, slamming the table as he stood up, summoning his black cut weapon in a ripple of space.
Reina, who had been feeling down these past few days, perked up upon realizing the gravity of the situation and seeing Liu Chuang ready to fight. She donned her fiery armor.
Seeing everyone getting ready, she shouted, "Super Soldier Unit, prepare for battle!" and was the first to stride out of the conference room.
Following their captain's command, Liu Chuang, Ge Xiaolun, and the others all suited up in their black armor and followed her out.
Ducao watched the group leave and nodded slightly.
He wasn't worried about the enemy coming to the Giant Gorge.
The Giant Gorge now housed three gods, plus second-generation warriors like Zhao Xin. Ducao couldn't imagine how the Gluttons could possibly defeat them.
"Ruanfeng, come with me to the command room. This time, we'll ensure every invading Glutton stays on Earth."
Ducao said as he led the way out.
His only concerns now were whether the Giant Gorge could withstand the battle and the potential losses among regular soldiers.
On the deck of the Giant Gorge, the regular soldiers had already prepared for battle. All of them held their guns, aiming at the sky, ready for action.
As Ge Xiaolun and the others stepped out of the cabin, they witnessed this scene.
"Yaowen, create a battlefield. We can't engage the enemy fully on the Giant Gorge."
Reina didn't look at the regular soldiers. Instead, her eyes were fixed on the Glutton warships that had already broken through the clouds.
"Understood."
Cheng Yaowen quickly grasped Reina's intent.
The Giant Gorge might be an advanced aircraft carrier on Earth, but compared to the Glutton warships, it was somewhat lacking.
As Cheng Yaowen activated his powers, the land beneath the South China Sea fleet began to rise, displacing all the seawater.
Reina walked to the edge of the deck, nodding in approval at the island Cheng Yaowen had conjured.
"Impressive, Yaowen! Your powers have developed to the point where you can reshape the land."
Zhao Xin, witnessing the scene, was wide-eyed in astonishment.
Zhao Xin felt discouraged—his friends had become gods or made significant progress, while he seemed to be stuck in place.
"Nice work, Yaowen. Now I can fight freely," Liu Chuang said, slapping Cheng Yaowen on the shoulder in encouragement.
"Well, I had a breakthrough last time at Zhang Zheng's place, so my powers have improved," Cheng Yaowen replied happily, proud to have amazed his comrades.
However, Liu Chuang's slap left Cheng Yaowen feeling numb on one side of his body.
"Don't celebrate just yet. Yaowen, create some cover for the regular soldiers. They're not super soldiers; without cover, they won't stand a chance against the Glutton warriors."
Ge Xiaolun, looking at the regular soldiers, didn't join in the mutual praise.
"That's what I was thinking," Cheng Yaowen said, having already considered the idea, though he hadn't expected Ge Xiaolun to suggest it first.
As Cheng Yaowen activated his powers again, large stones rose from the ground on the man-made island.
By the time the battlefield was fully prepared, the Glutton warships were already close to the Giant Gorge.
As the Glutton warships hovered in the sky, hundreds of smaller Glutton aircraft emerged from the larger vessels.
"Xiaolun, you and Qiangwei handle the aerial units. Qilin, find cover and be ready to provide support."
With Reina's orders, the Super Soldier Unit quickly took their positions, ready for battle.
Ge Xiaolun immediately took to the sky after receiving his task, drawing the giant sword from his back and charging straight at the approaching Gluttons.
Seeing Ge Xiaolun charge in recklessly again, Qiangwei could only shake her head.
"Xiaolun, use the Xionghxin!"
Qiangwei couldn't stand it anymore. After being mocked by Zhang Zheng last time, how could Xiaolun still not learn?
"Oh, right!"
Ge Xiaolun suddenly remembered that he could use his anti-void abilities to fight.
"Stop!" he shouted.
At his command, all the small Glutton warships at the front of the aerial assault suddenly lost power. Dozens of small warships plummeted to the ground like dumplings dropping into a pot.
Ge Xiaolun was surprised by the power of his shout. Had his Brainless Strike become this powerful after upgrading to a god body?
While Ge Xiaolun was stunned, the others wasted no time. Liu Chuang and the others rushed forward as soon as the Gluttons hit the ground, immediately slashing through them like a hot knife through butter.
Liu Chuang and the others might have charged in, but that didn't mean Empress Rena would join them in taking out the ground troops. Instead, she focused on the Glutton fleet in the sky. A miniature solar flare began to form in her hands, which she hurled at a Glutton warship without a light-energy barrier.
The Gluttons who arrived this time were mere cannon fodder; there were no void warriors among them. As Rena's solar flare exploded, one of the Gluttons' large warships came crashing down.
"Damn, big sis is awesome," Liu Chuang remarked with envy as he continued cutting down the smaller enemies, while keeping an eye on the situation in the sky.
It wasn't that Liu Chuang couldn't defeat Rena; it was just that each had their specialty. Liu Chuang was powerful in close combat, but he couldn't fly. At least for now, he had no way to deal with the Glutton warships in the air.
"Hmph, of course. I'm a goddess, after all. But Liu Chuang, the previous Norstar War God could throw his axe and split our Sunstar in half. Why don't you give it a try?"
Now that Sunstar had recovered, Rena felt more relaxed. Plus, today's battle with the Gluttons had allowed her to vent her frustrations from the past few days, so she teased Liu Chuang about Sunstar.
"Hmm... Is my black axe really that powerful?" Liu Chuang hesitated, looking down at the black cutter in his hand.
After thinking for a moment, he infused his Godslayer Power into the black cutter. As the divine energy flowed in, the black axe began to emit a golden glow.
Ignoring the attacking Gluttons, Liu Chuang aimed at one of the large Glutton warships and threw the axe.
The black cutter transformed into a golden meteor, piercing straight through the Glutton warship.
With a loud "boom," the warship Liu Chuang had pierced exploded into a massive fireball, crashing down.
Retrieving the black cutter through a micro-wormhole, Liu Chuang looked at it in disbelief and muttered, "Damn, it actually worked!"
"No way, you actually threw it!" Rena was shocked by Liu Chuang's results. She had been joking, but Liu Chuang had taken it seriously—and with impressive results.
"Haha, big sis, that was a great suggestion."
"Mememeng, leave the ground troops to you guys." Liu Chuang was now only interested in taking down the large warships, having lost interest in the smaller ground enemies.
"Got it. Leave it to us, Brother Liu Chuang. You focus on the big ships," Rui Mengmeng replied, understanding Liu Chuang's intentions since they were close.
While Liu Chuang and the others were engrossed in battle, no one noticed the micro-wormhole that had opened in the sky. Even Qiangwei, with her space-time genes, didn't detect it due to the distance.
Having been pushed to the limit by the Super Soldier Unit, the Gluttons finally reached their breaking point. The remaining few main battleships, equipped with light-energy barriers, began charging their main cannons.
Once the charge was complete, four energy blasts simultaneously shot towards Rena.
"Protect Rena!" Ge Xiaolun immediately rushed forward, intercepting one of the blasts. Using the power of the Xionghxin, he continuously analyzed and neutralized the energy of the blast.
Liu Chuang, also busy attacking the warships, noticed the danger and blocked another blast.
However, no one else had the ability to block the energy blasts. Seeing this, Rena raised the Dawn Shield to face the remaining two blasts.
Everyone around was stunned by what happened next.
While Ge Xiaolun and Liu Chuang each faced only one blast, Rena was left to deal with two by herself. Though she had the artifact Dawn Shield, the sheer power of the two attacks forced her down to the ground.
"Argh..." Rena roared in anger, trying to stand, but her current power wasn't enough.
Just when it seemed like a stalemate, Rena's furious expression suddenly changed.
A golden beam of energy shot down from the sky, straight towards Rena. It was none other than the Demon's Divine Punishment Bombardment, far more powerful than the Gluttons' energy blasts.
Already pinned down, Rena had no chance to dodge.
With a deafening "boom," Rena was blasted into the ground, and the immense energy began to spread out.
All members of the Super Soldier Unit, except for the god-tier Liu Chuang and Ge Xiaolun, were sent flying by the massive shockwave.
Even the Giant Gorge was thrown into the sea.
"Rena!"
As soon as Liu Chuang and Ge Xiaolun regained their footing, they rushed toward the injured Leina, but by the time they reached her, Leina had already disappeared from the island.
At the same time, in the command room of the Giant Gorge, the demon Ah Bang emerged from a wormhole and started shooting wildly at Ducao and the others, who were thrown into disarray. With Ducao falling and Lianfeng severely injured, Ah Bang ceased fire, ignored the others, and carried the unconscious Yuqin through a micro wormhole to escape.
"Qiangwei, the demons have joined the war, and General Ducao is dead," Lianfeng said, her voice faltering but still coherent. "I'm giving you the command codes for Deno No. 3. Send whoever is still alive to Zhang Zheng's place!" With that, she fell unconscious.
Above Juxia City, on a floating island, Kaisha closed the Eye of Insight and sighed regretfully. Kaisha felt it was a pity—if not for the demons' interference, the young soldiers of the Super Seminary would have won.
She looked disdainfully at Morgana, who was hovering in front of her. "Tsk tsk tsk, Liangbing, you've really come down in the world. Resorting to sneak attacks on a bunch of kids?" Kaisha smiled at her sister, her tone full of scorn. As a main god, Kaisha thought Morgana's methods were becoming increasingly disgraceful.
"Bitch, Kaisha, don't get too smug. You're dead this time," Morgana retorted. She didn't want to waste words with Kaisha; after all, she'd never won a verbal battle against her.
"Heh, kill me? I don't think demons have that capability," Kaisha replied. "Hmm, Karl, Leina, Emerald Star. Do you have the power to send me to Emerald Star?" Though Zhang Zheng had mentioned it to her, Kaisha still had some doubts. This was understandable—Zhang Zheng had given Kaisha the impression of being unreliable at times. So, Kaisha activated the Eye of Insight and read Morgana's information herself.
Morgana didn't care that Kaisha was reading her information—she was used to it by now. "Kaisha, you bitch, just go ahead and read my information! It doesn't matter—this will be the last time anyway."
With that, Morgana raised her hand, and a black vortex appeared in her palm. Several dark silver chains shot towards Kaisha. As Morgana made her move, the little angels surrounding Kaisha took to the sky, meeting the demons behind Morgana head-on. King versus king, general versus general—the fifth battle between angels and demons had officially begun on Earth.
"Tsk tsk, Liangbing, no progress at all! The same trick as last time in Angel City. What's the point?" Kaisha commented disdainfully as she grabbed a few of the silver chains. As soon as she spoke, the chains in her hand shattered into countless pieces.
Tossing aside a piece of the chain, Kaisha's fingers moved slightly. With a ripple in space, Silver Wings traced a beautiful arc, slicing toward Morgana.
With a clang, the Devil's Claw blocked Silver Wings. Before Kaisha could change tactics, the other Devil's Claw swung toward Kaisha on her throne.
Another metallic clash rang out as Kaisha's Silver Wings sent Morgana's Devil's Claw flying. Simultaneously, the Holy Domain activated, extending towards Morgana.
Sensing the danger, Morgana quickly flew backward. Meanwhile, the Devil's Claw reconfigured itself, transforming into a giant claw larger than the floating island, and smashed down on Kaisha.
Kaisha glanced at it disdainfully. The Judgment Angel appeared behind her, and with a swing of its massive flaming sword, it cleaved through the reconfigured Devil's Claw. At the same time, Silver Wings transformed into wings and appeared behind the Judgment Angel. With a swing of the flaming sword, a massive golden sword energy was slashed toward Morgana.
With another clang, Morgana's Devil's Claw shattered the sword energy. "Bitch," Morgana muttered. Though she had shattered Kaisha's sword energy, she wasn't unscathed herself. Rubbing her aching hand, Morgana called Karl over the comms.
"Liangbing, I know the situation on your end. Create an opportunity—don't let Kaisha turn around," Karl said before abruptly ending the communication.
This time, Morgana didn't get angry—she knew that if the comms stayed open, Kaisha would definitely notice. Morgana already had an idea of how to create that opportunity.
"Kaisha!" Morgana shouted, rushing towards Kaisha with the Devil's Claw. All of the computing power of the Devil's Wings was focused on Morgana. Morgana swung the Devil's Claw hard, knocking the Judgment Angel aside, and simultaneously swung the other claw at Kaisha.
Kaisha remained calm as she saw the incoming Devil's Claw. A dark silver longsword appeared in her hand, and with a gentle flick, she sent the Devil's Claw flying. Unfurling her white wings, Kaisha engaged in close combat with Morgana.
Morgana was curious about why Kaisha chose to engage her in close combat, but with the support of the Devil's Wings, she wasn't worried. In a flash of light, two wrist blades appeared on Morgana's arms, clashing with Kaisha's sword.
The constant clashing sounds between Kaisha and Morgana caught the attention of both the angels and demons, causing them to pause their battles. "The queen is amazing," Angel Lingxi said admiringly as she watched the fight between Kaisha and Morgana.
This time, Angel Leng didn't make any sarcastic comments—instead, she looked worriedly at the battlefield, particularly where Kaisha and Liangbing were fighting.
As the battle between Kaisha and Morgana intensified, both sustained injuries. "Ugh!" Morgana looked down at the sword embedded in her abdomen, disbelief filling her eyes as she stared at Kaisha.
"Why? You clearly didn't bring the Heavenly Blade System with you to Earth this time—why is your computational power still greater than mine?" Morgana asked in disbelief, clutching the wound on her abdomen.
Losing to Kaisha didn't bother Morgana—she was used to it. But this time, losing in close combat to a Kaisha without the Heavenly Blade System, even with the support of the Devil's Wings, was something Morgana couldn't accept.
"Heh, silly sister. Not to mention Zhang Zheng's Heavenly Blade No. 8 in the outer atmosphere, what do you think the Heavenly Blade System is now?" Kaisha teased Morgana.
"That's nonsense—the Heavenly Blade System is, of course, your celestial computer," Morgana retorted, feeling as if Kaisha was insulting her intelligence. It was common sense!
"Ha ha, ha ha, Liangbing, that's the old version," Kaisha said, savoring the moment. "As for now, I am the Heavenly Blade. I am the Blade Queen, Kaisha. Do you understand, my sister, the former King of Apocalypse, Liangbing?"
"And now, farewell, my dear sister," Kaisha said, as she prepared to strike the final blow.
Keisha finished speaking, and without paying attention to the minor demons frozen by the Sacred Domain while trying to save Morgana, she swung her Dark Silver longsword towards Morgana's neck.
Caught within the Sacred Domain, Morgana found herself unable to resist and could only stare blankly as the sword descended. Just as the sword was about to strike, the smile vanished from Keisha's face, and a tear unknowingly slipped from her eye, though Morgana, focused on the sword, did not notice.
In an unexpected turn of events, just as the sword was about to fall, Keisha suddenly vanished from Morgana's sight. Morgana, as if oblivious to what had happened, simply revealed a look of shock in her eyes, followed by a relieved smile as she casually walked towards Keisha's throne.
"Retreat, we're heading to Tianhe City," Angel Cold decisively ordered after seeing Keisha swallowed by the Void. Though it was a presumptuous move, as Divine Wings like Azhui and Mo Yi were still present, no one cared at this point. The two younger angels were also stunned by Keisha's sudden disappearance.
"Understood," the younger angels quickly responded, taking advantage of the demons' confusion to fly towards Tianhe City.
"Queen, the angels are all heading to Tianhe City. Should we pursue them?" Atai, observing the fleeing angels, quickly sought instructions from Morgana.
"Well... forget it. That bastard Zhang Zheng—it's best we don't completely cross him this time," Morgana pondered for a moment before deciding that it wasn't worth fully antagonizing Zhang Zheng over a few angels. After all, Zhang Zheng's home was in Tianhe City, and it was obvious who the angels were fleeing to. Even though Zhang Zheng was not on Earth at the moment, if he returned and found his home destroyed by demons, Morgana knew he'd go ballistic.
...
Emerald Star.
Keisha emerged from a golden teleportation array, and upon seeing the burning Emerald Star and the floating Rena, she was momentarily surprised. She casually waved her hand to move a meteorite and sat down on it.
"Carl, come out. Let's have a chat," Keisha said confidently, as if Carl were right there in the Void.
"Divine Keisha, your disregard for the Void..." Carl hadn't appeared yet, but Snow, eager for attention, interrupted, seizing the rare opportunity to mock the Queen of the Gods. Previously, Snow's power would not have been enough to even meet Keisha.
Hearing the voice, Keisha glanced over. Seeing it wasn't Carl, she lost interest in listening further. Without waiting for Snow to finish, she casually cut off his projection.
"Carl, come explain how you transported me from Earth to here. When you did it with Liang Bing last time, it was so sudden that I didn't have time to record the data before she disappeared," Keisha asked the seemingly empty Void.
As soon as Keisha finished speaking, a flash of light appeared in the Void, and Carl's projection materialized in front of her.
"Queen Keisha," Carl greeted with a respectful bow, despite planning to kill her. His respect for Keisha remained. His desire to kill her was simply because she was in the way.
"Explain?" Keisha, unconcerned about Carl's murderous intentions, was more interested in how Carl had managed to bring her here.
"Queen Keisha, in your understanding, space is stable, so you use wormhole calculations to move yourselves. But in the Void's understanding, space is unstable. I didn't transport you; I transported the space you were in, so..." Carl trailed off, knowing that the woman with the highest intelligence in the universe would grasp his meaning.
Indeed, after a moment of contemplation, Keisha continued, "So, theoretically, I'm still on Earth. That's rather frustrating! And this notion of unstable space is new to me. Give me some time to process it." Keisha's casual demeanor was anything but that of someone facing death.
"Queen Keisha, the Emerald Star will explode in 30 seconds. Forgive me, but haven't you considered escaping?" Carl asked, growing uneasy at Keisha's calmness.
"Escape? Where to? If I wanted to, I could have easily killed Rena's third-generation god body. But I won't do that. The order I defined—if I don't follow it, who will?" Keisha responded, casting a disdainful glance at Carl.
"That's why mortals respect you, though gods might not," Carl replied calmly, unperturbed by her disdainful look. After all, what he and others were doing was beneath the dignity of a Supreme God.
"Respect or not, it doesn't matter. After managing you devils and gods for nearly 20,000 years, I want a break. But Carl, are you really doing this for the Void, or does it have something to do with Liang Bing?" Keisha, unafraid of death, took a moment to tease Carl.
"Queen Keisha, that's a rather unnecessary question," Carl said, his prepared speech derailed by her playful remark. He reconsidered, then shook his head.
"Ha ha," Keisha laughed as she took one last look at Carl, stood up from the rock, and spread her arms wide as she walked past him.
"My successor is already chosen. I'm curious to see how you'll destroy my justice," Keisha said, stepping past Carl with a smile, facing the soon-to-explode Emerald Star with composure befitting the Queen of Gods.
As Rena disappeared, the Emerald Star exploded, becoming the most beautiful firework in the universe. Along with the fireworks, the Queen of Gods, who had protected the universe for tens of thousands of years, also vanished.
