35. Mary

Mary was bound to happiness.

She was married and it was again one of the best things that happened in her life.

This was the first time Mary had seen Aaryan's room which was now their room. His room was actually opposite to what she imagined it to be. Unlike almost all of the guys, this room was neat and cleaned to perfection

As they entered the room, Aaryan shut the door and the first thing he did was to hug her.

He held her so gently, so calmly, just to tell her that "You are mine forever," and she could not hold the urge to hug him back tighter when she said, "I am yours forever." They stayed like that for moments and moments, melting into each other and still amazed by the perfection of the moment

After a while, Aaryan parted and he was just an inch away now. He looked at her, his gaze was so gentle, so light, so beautiful that Mary felt like she was staring at the most precious thing.

Aaryan kissed her. He kissed her eyes so delicately that his lips felt a brush of cloud, swaying over the eyes, so careful to not hurt her by any chance "I can not believe that I am married" She said, Aaryan stood straight and looked at her, he could have thought Mary was not okay with their wedding "And I can not believe how happy I am feeling" she said, making his expression relaxed and he laughed and she smiled

"I want to say something to you" Aaryan took a step back. Mary nodded her head in reply and he said "In the future, if I ever fail to fulfill my responsibilities as your husband and ever make you sad, then you have the complete right to complain and teach me a lesson if necessary." His words made her laugh out loud.

"Of course," she said in between giggling. She doubts it because, the way Aaryan always treats her, he would never hurt her on purpose.

Aaryan's gaze was fixed on her face, and then he called her by his name, "You look extremely beautiful, Mrs. Aaryan Yusuf," Mary could not stop looking at him, she could not believe that all of this had happened.

Mary was lost in happiness and after an instant, she realized something. "Hey, don't you think we should change my first name too?" It was obvious to her that her name was completely linked with Christianity but something was confusing. Yusuf asked her if she wanted to be called by her father's name in the Nikkah ceremony, and she agreed, but why did no one care about her first name? Aaryan looked as puzzled as she was.

"What do you mean?" The way Aaryan asked, she thought she could have been missing something.

"Isn't Mary a Christian name?" She said, knowing a yes as the answer,

"Oh, Mary." Aaryan shook his head to the side. "Mary is not a Christian name. It's a Muslim name" She had indeed been missing something and just looked at him for the answer

"There is an entire chapter in the Holy Quran by the name of Mary; Mariyam (S.A)." Shocked, she was, "My name is in the Holy Quran?" She asked in the same way.

"Oh, I think Amy left this for me on purpose," he said. It made sense, she said nothing but looked at him again. "Mariam (AS), Mary is one of the most respected women in Islam. Allah Subhanu Wa Ta'ala, mentions her as the chosen one and purified one. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that she is one of the best women of Paradise. Do you even know how great your name is?" The muscles around her lips tightened, her lower lip quenched, and she knew she would be crying in a second. "Really?" She asked and then there were tears rolling down her cheeks because of how special she was feeling. Aaryan took her in a hug again and she cried in his arms.

•••

Days passed by, and as she expected, Aaryan Yusuf turned out to be the best husband. He was doing every possible thing to keep her happy and so was his family.

Honestly, it was a little annoying to her how much they cared about Mary.

She was treated as a Queen.

She had no permission to work. Amina and Amara would always find a way to make Mary rest and do all of the work themselves. And when she complained to Aaryan he would just pretend to get angry at his sister and then everything would be normal again

Today was Saturday, and Amina couldn't say, "You have classes, so you can't work, Beta," because she had no classes today, and that was a reasonable reason to work. Since going into the kitchen or cleaning the house was impossible to do without getting caught, Mary decided to start with the smallest task of taking the trash out.

Aaryan was in his room and so were others. This was the best time to go. Holding the trash bags she silently closed the door.

Mary was happy to help even though that help was only walking a total of ten steps from the house to the trash bin.

Throwing the trash, she turned around, and her happiness was all gone when she saw someone standing behind her.

"Matthew," She said, hating to say it. Her brother appeared more wretched than he had ever looked. His face was faint and he looked older than before "I am here to take you back" He said, not explaining what he was indicating "I am not coming anywhere with you" She stared harshly into his terrifying eyes "Stop being a burden on them" Matthew walked a step closer to her, she took one back "Since when you started to care about the people who doesn't benefits you?" Mary stretched her lips into a smirk.

"Of course the hell I don't care about those Muslims, but I do fucking care about my sister, and I am taking you back to the right path!" He yelled, and Mary was not affected by his roar.

"I am one of those Muslims, Matthew," She sneered again.

"Mary, stop with this nonsense. You still have time. We would ask for forgiveness from Jesus together." Mary ran a frustrated hand over her face. Matthew wasn't horrifying anymore, and he looked even more sick when she wasn't afraid of him.

"Matthew, can't you just simply live your life? Like when would you even stop bugging me, huh?" She asked casually, unfamiliar with the way she was speaking,

"How are you talking to your brother?"

"In the way he deserves." This time, Matthew didn't reply verbally but grabbed her by her arm and pulled her forcefully. "Come to the church with me!" He shouted. It was hurting, her hand was aching from the grip, but his words were even painful "Leave me alone, You psychopath!" Yelled Mary but her words weren't working. Matthew was dragging her by the hand. She cried. It did not affect him, and then, by a miracle, he appeared from thin air.

Aaryan grabbed Matthew's hand, and with a sudden attack, he threw him away and roared like a lion. "STAY AWAY FROM MY WIFE." Matthew lost his balance, but then he just stood straight upon hearing his words.

"What did you just say?" His voice was annoyingly slow

"If you touch her again, it will make sure you'll be sorry for the rest of your life" Aaryan said defensively and started to walk to their house, taking her with him

"Beware of me, Mary Christopher, because I am going to murder you soon" Matthew threatened. Mary was not afraid and Aaryan didn't stop till they were in their room.

Aaryan protected her from the person who was supposed to be her protector.

"Are you okay?" He asked. Mary shook her head from left to right

"Why did you go out?" He asked, sounding mad at her "I just wanted to help" she said and never realized when there were tears in her eyes "Don't cry" Aaryan wiped off her tears and said "I can't bear to see those dam– tears appearing in your eyes" And in a second she was laughing and crying harder at the same time "Come here" said Aaryan and took her in his arms "Don't worry, I am here to protect you, forever" She knew he was and he would protect her from everything

Mary was safe in this house, but she did not know for how long, and what if Matthew did something to this family? What if this makes him go blind and he hurts any of them?

Mary did not want it. She didn't even know how her mother was. Matthew won't take her to therapy or the hospital, and according to her assumptions, her mother would have been suffering from that depression again. But at least there was one thing she was sure of,

Matthew wouldn't hurt their mother.
