4. Fisrt step

The next day Lim and Alex went to visit Max's grave, they took a long ride to reach the cemetery.

They prepared food offering, essence and flowers for the grave, laid them down in front of the grave stone beautifully.

Standing in front of Max's grave Lim thought of all the twenty years of memories that into the ground.

"Hey Max it's me Lim, i brought Alex with me. It's already been a month since you left nothing much has changed around here. How are you doing? I am also doing well it's just-"

She broke into tears, the bitterness in her throat when trying to swallow saliva and the stinging pain in her chest. All the words she came prepared just seemed to have slipped away in a drop of a tear.

"I miss your daily visits, back then i thought it was annoying but now the appartment feels very lonely. I miss your loud laughters and the noise complaints I get from my neighbours."

Lim looked down at the gravestone,her tears won't stop running down. Alex tried to comfort her by tapping on her shoulder.

She walked to the back to get some fresh air and clear her thoughts when Alex went towards Max's grave and sat down in front of it.

"Hey sweetie, how are you? Do you miss me? I miss you dearly, every night i look up the sky just to see your sweet smiling face. It must be cold and lonely down here. Don't worry, Lim and I are working together to find the people who murdered you. It won't be long until your enemies join you."

After talking some more time they prepared three glass of Max's favourite wine. They laid one cup on the grave and the other two they poured in around the grave. They did their last goodbye prayers and blew off the essence.

They made a plan for the day when walking out of the cemetery.

"Let's go visit Max's work place we'll get something from it."

From the cemetery to Max's work place was a long ride, the traffic jam was really bad that day and the cemetery was at the outcirt. By the time they reached Max's work place half the day was already over.

Coming out of the car, Lim rushed to the counter.

"Excuse me"

"Yes, may I help you?"

" Is Miss Louis here?"

"Let me look at the register real quick."

"Ah- yes she's here but she is attending to a client now you should wait for your turn."

"When is my turn?"

"After her last client but register first."

"No i came to meet Louis in an emergency so I will not register but let me meet her right after this client it won't take long."

"Sorry Miss but I can't do that until you have a permit or ID."

Lim took a deep breath she didn't know what to do. She was not a police officer or anything like that to have a ID than can intrup a meeting.

"Hey Jem, how have you been? Here i came to meet Louis and I'll be quick so let me meet her just this time".

Alex came after seeing the problem Lim was facing to meet Louis.

" Ok since it's for you I'll let you in but do it quick."

" Yes Miss thank you."

Max fell for a man like him? No wander he got all the charms of thousand man. What a play boy.

Lim walked in first and then Alex came running in back to her.

"Why did you just walk in like that. You could have atleast said."

"Thanks for talking it out. I have to meet Louis that's what I came for."

They walked in into a room where there were lots of shelfs with lots of different types of make products from different companies. A lady with a blue suite walking up to them.

" I'll be incharge of you today. How can i help you?"

"Hi Louis, how have you been?"

"Hi- do I know you?"

Louis was a lady with blond long shiny hair. She had pale skin with pink rosey cheeks and her strong pink makeup. She looked confused looking at Lim.

"Oh- Sorry i didn't introduce myself. My dad. I'm Lim, I'm Max's friend."

Louis sat down on the chair in front of her with her legs crossed and her hands on her laps.

" Max's friend? You say. What brings you here?"

" I just wanted to have talk with you."

Lim also brought the chair next to her and sat in front of Louis.

"What do you wanna talk about?- but nothing comes free all is with a prise."

"I know, that's why I came prepared."

"Uh-? Prepared? Funny, you don't even know what I'll ask for."

" I know but i also know what you did. Um- that time I guess it was around 28th Agust 2030 you couldn't complete your project which was due that day so you decided to replace Luther's work with your work. And Luther got fired and you got promoted but it didn't just stop there you got greedy, it was around 13th November 2031 you-"

"Please stop, stop right there."

"Why? You don't want to hear more? it was just get intresting."

"No, no please I'll tell you everything thing just don't tell those things to anyone please."

" Ok than tell me about Max and the incident."

" I don't know anything about the incident i swear. But one think I know is that before the incident Max stared acting unusual, she was not the old Max I knew."

"What was that you think changed in her?"

Louis went silent for some time, she seemed scared of something.

"Why did you stop?"

" I feel uneasy talking about this, everytime I try and talk about it something holds me back."

" There is no one watching us. It's just the three of us in this room nothing will harm you."

" I'm not sure myself either but the way she looked at people was different, around others she seemed to be normal but when she was alone at her desk she was different like-"

A stuff member walked in, intrupting our talk.

"Madam is calling for you Louis, your break is over."

The stuff lady walked out and Louis also stood up.

"Let's try another day when I have no work. I'll try and tell everything during that time maybe it will be helpful."

"Yes let's keep in contact, do let me know when your free."

Lim and Alex went back to the car, it was already dark outside. The street lights were very bright and the buildings with each appartment lights on.

"How did you know so much about Louis?"

"I'm not sure it was all written in Max's diary she left at home."

Why and how did Max know about all this private information about Louis.
