"Ahh!" I screamed as the pain ripped through my stomach. Hayley rubbed my lower back, trying to keep me calm, but the pain was too much. I pulled her hand away, stumbling forward, and crashed onto the couch.
My breath came in short gasps, and beads of sweat gathered on my forehead. The baby was clawing my insides, not giving me time to breathe.
"Where is the water?" I asked, leaning back against the couch as I spread my legs open. Sitting wasn't helping. I stood up again.
"He's going to tear me open," I said, screaming as another sharp pain tore through me.
"We are almost done," Tristan said, glancing at me. His eyes softened as he gazed at my stomach, then quickly looked away.
Lucian and the two female doctors were hovering at the edge of the pool. They had quickly set it up in the living room after I went into labor. They were now checking the temperature of the water.
