That night, two of Makayla's sisters returned from Vlékrur. They stayed temporarily in Crescent City and often lived as spies in the Werewolf and Lycan lands. Tonight they were back, and Imani and Poppy prepared various dishes for all of us.

After Makayla finished introducing me to them, they hugged me warmly.

"My name is Zuri, and this is Michelle," Zuri introduced.

"Nice to meet you," I said with a bright smile.

"You know, we really don't take in people to live with us in this city," Michelle said. "I was surprised when I first saw you."

"Because there were vampires who pretended to be human, came to live among us, and killed our people," Michelle answered.
