"If by chance the boy grows into a man and tries to take his revenge, you have enough power in you to deal with him," I said.

Vladimir stared at me for a moment before leaning back against the chair. "There is a war coming, Ivan. That is why I brought you here. The Lycans struck us when they killed more than twenty of my men."

"Do you trust your advisor?" I asked. "Aiden?"

"He is my hand," Vladimir replied. "He has done things that earned my trust. He has made sacrifices, so why should I not?"

"You should know he once supported the former Queen and King," I said. "He had some relationship with her."

"And you think that would kill my trust in him?" Vladimir asked. "He has done everything I have ever asked of him and has never refused me."
