Luther pressed his palms to his ears, blocking out the sound of the other inmates in their cells, and the wardens making the rounds. It had been over three days now, and neither Cassie nor his wife had seen him.
Talk less of Ethan. He had asked to make a phone call, and called his son in-law, but Ethan did not answer any of the calls. He tried to contact Cassie, but the girl never took his calls. And when Serena answered, the line suddenly went dead.
"What is happening here? Why is no one taking me out of prison? Is this some sort of joke?" He panicked, wondering why he was still very much behind bars.
The warden had announced that he would soon be moved out of his private cell. A thought that scared Luther out of his mind. He glared at the prison food in front of him, an insult to the expensive dishes he was used to having.
