Brooke answered the summon and went with the maid to a lounge room, where Sophia was in the middle of addressing the staff of the house.
Upon her arrival, she dismissed them all, save for Wendy and May, who stayed back to wheel Brooke over and pour tea for them.
Sophia dry coughed, "What happened earlier this morning was…unfortunate. To protect the peace of this family, we should keep this to ourselves. Don't you agree?" She asked, taking the cup of tea offered.
That was one way of putting it. Brooke didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the way Sophia approached the situation.
"No, I don't. I have every intention of telling my husband about what happened downstairs." Brooke firmly replied, refusing to back down.
Sophia's grip on the teacup tightened, but she kept up the unfazed look on her face. "That was just an outburst of emotions, it was unfortunate that you were on the receiving end of things-"
