Brooke woke up only to find herself enveloped in Thane's arms. Her cheeks flushed at the parts of his chest that peeked out of his buttons. She raised her gaze to Thane's peaceful sleeping demeanor.
Her lips curved. He was the boy. The one from her childhood. The one person always on her side.
She reached to touch his face, to swat the hair in his eyes, but her phone rang, luring her out of the trance.
At first, she let it ring for a while, but when the caller kept blaring her phone, she slipped out of Thane's hug and turned to take the call.
"He's out like a light, that medicine must've tired him out completely." She thought while unlocking her phone. Before she could tap on contacts, the call from Scott came through.
Brooke's eyes narrowed. Why was he calling so early?
She shook her head and answered, "Good morning, dad." She grimaced at the title. Until she found out the truth about her actual father, she planned on keeping the lie.
