The Wedding Dress

"Your treatment will start three days later and I am leaving Torris on the same day."

The old lady who suddenly got a new information looked a little dazed.

A moment later, she hit Ariel on her head.

That was how Ariel was. Suddenly bombarding her with decisions.

"Where are you going?"

The old lady asked immediately.

"It's a nearby city. I got a new job there. It pays more and I will need to work less. They are providing everything. The accommodation and all... you don't need to worry about anything."

"Really?"

The old lady eyes' shone bright as she realized that Ariel will finally leave the slums.

"Yes."

"Good! Good!"

The old lady nodded her head again and again. It was after many days that Ariel saw her that happy.

Ariel smiled a little, not realizing that she herself was smiling like that after a long time.

"I will leave now. Need to tell my boss that I will leave the job."

Ariel said as she stood up and picked up her bag.

"Yes, tell him! Making my Ariel work so much....he doesn't deserve good employees at all!"

The old lady kept grumbling about Ariel's boss until the latter left. But later on, when she fell asleep, she had a smile on her lips.

She had been worried since morning when Stella described how three men came looking for Ariel. She thought that Ariel might have taken some kind of loan for her treatment and was now stuck in between bad people.

Fortunately, that was not the case.

As long as her Ariel was happy and safe, even if she passed away earlier she didn't mind.

Ariel worked in a restaurant during afternoon. Fortunately she was on time and not late, so the manager didn't scold her.

In fact, the manager was quite a good person. Ariel was usually on time so even if she had been late today, Ariel knew that she would not have been scolded.

The job actually didn't suit her personality.

Different kind of people came in restaurant. Once someone had tried to touch her and she had twisted that person's hand. At some other place, she would have been kicked out. But the manager of the restaurant handled the situation very well. She never saw that man again.

For such people, Ariel held respect inside her heart.

When she told the manager that she won't come after three days anymore, the latter only asked her if everything was alright and then asked her to take her collective wages the next day.

After this small talk, Ariel went to the kitchen to pick up the dishes and serve on the tables to waiting customers.

However, as soon as she saw the customer sitting on the table in her sight, her steps slowed down.

A moment later, she composed herself as if nothing happened and continued walking to the table.

"He escaped again. Did you really search the whole area?"

Ariel heard the policeman asking someone on the phone as she put the dishes on the table.

"Find out the huge events that will be hold in the city in the next few days.... almost 5 days. I have observed that this man goes to families holding huge events. It might be because in crowd of people, it's easy for him to enter."

Ariel couldn't hep but raise her eyebrow when she heard this.

After her work was done, she turned around to leave. Before leaving, she heard the policeman speaking

"Miller's wedding...three days later. Alright! I want everyone to be ready. We must catch him this time if he appears."

Ariel couldn't help but smile to herself.

Three days later...unfortunately she was quite busy that day.

After leaving the restaurant, Ariel was on her way back to slums.

On reaching one of the streets, she suddenly stopped and then continued walking.

She frowned when on the main street of her hut, the same car was waiting. As soon as she approached the car, Nyla stepped outside with a huge box in her hand.

"This is the wedding dress sent by Madam Ines."

Ariel remembered that Ines had told her about this, so she nodded and took the box easily from Nyla.

After being done with this task, Nyla was about to leave when Ariel suddenly called her out.

"Tell your madam to take back her people who are following me. If she didn't then I will ensure that she would really not find me three days later."

Nyla was again angry that Ariel was talking like this about her madam but after seeing the scene in the morning, she knew it was safe for her not to argue.

So she said a low 'alright' and then instantly sat inside the car.

After the car left, Ariel looked at the box in her hand and sighed to herself.

Now, what will she say to her grandmother about this box.
