The Miller Mansion

After Ariel walked away, Joeff received a call. He sighed in exhaustion before sliding the screen to answer the call.

"Yes, Mr. Quin."

"Joeff, did you find anything about that thief?"

Joeff was silent for a moment before he said the truth.

"Not yet, Mr. Quin."

Though he had found some clues like the bag Ariel was using but he had soon realized that he would be stuck in a big loop then. There could be many people using the same bag. He couldn't really investigate every single person using that bag. Hence, at this moment he didn't have a single clue.

"You disappoint me, Joeff."

Joeff sighed and wanted to say something but the call was already cut.

He rubbed his face with his hands before he released another sigh. This thief....he has become the biggest problem of Joeff's life.

On the other hand, Ariel was seated inside the car.

The car was about to start when Ariel saw Adele running towards it and she asked the driver to stop. The driver looked hesitant to accept her orders making Ariel frown but in the end he perhaps decided to wait for some time.

Adele appeared at the window.

"Ariel...this is my number."

Adele handed her the slip and continued speaking in a hushed whisper

"Contact me, if you face any trouble. I will always be there to help."

Ariel was again left surprised by Adele's behaviour. She wanted to ask why Adele was so concerned about her.

However, she didn't get any chance to do so. The driver seemed to be too impatient,

Adele stepped back and the car started.

Adele silently watched the car growing away from her sight. Her eyes full of worry stared at the disappearing car.

She wished it would end easily for Ariel in six months. If something worse happened she would never be able to forgive herself and her mother.

It was almost an hour journey in the car from the wedding venue and still the car had not stopped.

At present, Ariel noticed how there was nothing but trees and grasses on both sides of the road. She frowned and looked at the driver suspiciously. As if sensing her gaze, she heard the driver say

"For around half kilometres from the Miller's mansion, there is nothing but trees and grasses."

Ariel couldn't help but raise her eyebrow. She had witnesses rich people's grandeur in her childhood but this was really over the top.

She shook her head.

Rich people and their different ways of spending money...

But as she thought about this more, she wondered if it was done to keep people away from Miller's mansion. No wonder people knew very less about them.

The huge mansion was finally in sight and Ariel looked at it with indifferent eyes. When her car stopped, she noticed a car was already standing there ahead of their car.

It was perhaps the car in which Vista and Leon reached earlier. That reminded Ariel of Leon's behaviour during the marriage.

Did her father know that Leon was mentally unstable?

However, Ariel thought that even if he came to know at the wedding venue only, he wasn't the one to care about such things. He must have been promised a lot of money to satisfy his greed.

Ariel had seen. Money could make that man do everything.

The driver stepped out and opened the door for Ariel making her come out of her trance. She collected her wedding dress and stepped outside the car.

There was no one in sight except the security guards guarding the entrance. The rays of sun fell down on her face making her close her eyes a little as she looked around.

Everything was new to her.

A few moments later, she finally stepped towards the mansion. As she stepped inside, she saw the huge living room that welcomed her but there was no person present inside to actually welcome her.

Ariel didn't seem to mind this at all. She continued walking, holding her long wedding dress which irritated her to the extreme until she finally came across a maid.

It was weird that such a huge mansion didn't have maids running around. The maid looked at her from top to bottom and then finally seems to realize something.

"Are you young master's bride?"

Ariel almost sighed as she heard the familiar terms. Young master, young mistress... the words were so familiar to her as she had spent her childhood in the same kind of environment.

"Yes"

She answered the maid and then asked

"Do you know where exactly am I supposed to stay?"

The maid opened her mouth and then closed it. A few moments later, she seemed confused. In the end, she opened her mouth again and said

"Since you are young master's bride, of course you will stay in young master's room only. Let me show you the room, Young Madam."

Ariel wanted to say something but the maid had already started walking.

Will she and Leon stay together in a room? Was it really necessary?

However, watching the maid who had already walked far away, she ignored the questions inside her mind and followed the maid.
