A Call For Ariel

When Ines opened her eyes, the scene in front of her eyes was enough to make her feel shocked.

Henry was lying down on the ground and her daughter Adele was about to punch him. One glance at her daughter and Ines knew that she was heavily drunk.

"Adele"

Ines shouted instantly to stop Adele who raised her head to look at her mother. Her eyes were filled with unshed tears as she looked at her mother's face.

There was a clear print of fingers on her cheek. Her chin also had marks.

She looked towards her so called father.

Looking at Henry who was looking at her with shock filled eyes, she said

"I never respected you but now you make me feel disgusting."

The words made Henry come out of his trance. His face immediately went red with anger.

"How dare you raise your hand at me!"

Henry shouted furiously. How long has it been since someone dared to treat him like this? Since the moment Mintz enterprises came in his hands, all he had received was respectful treatment. His status made people bow their heads to him.

However, Adele doesn't really seem to care.

Her mind was constantly buzzing at her to kill this man.

"What will you do?"

She tilted her head and asked him.

The question worked like a fuel in already burnt fire.

"You bastard child! How come I didn't know that I have been raising snakes inside my house!"

Henry said as he glared at Ines and then at Adele.

Ines shook her head and immediately walked towards him.

"Henry...Adele is not like that. It's just...she saw that you were raising your hand on me. If she had seen something like this happening to you, she would have done the same."

Adele scoffed in mockery making Ines glare at her.

"Henry...she is drunk. She doesn't know what she is doing."

Seeing how her mother was still trying to coax that disgusting man, pain flashed in her eyes.

She knew nothing she would say or do would be of any use.

If someone was becoming a victim willingly, no saviour could save them. Shaking her head to herself, Adele walked towards her room with staggering steps.

Once inside her room, she took out her phone. The contact list seemed to be blurry but with some effort, she finally found the number she wanted to call on.

.

.

.

After returning from the press conference, Ariel was left alone inside her room or should she say the guest room of Miller Mansion. She didn't really seem to mind that.

Mia also brought her dinner to the room only. After having her dinner, she was about to lie down on the comfy bed to sleep when Mia came again and told her that someone from her family had called.

Ariel frowned.

Her family...she counted only her grandmother in it but of course, the old lady couldn't call her here. That also reminded her that she should buy a phone now. She had the nurse number. Maybe she would be able to talk to her grandmother from time to time. The old lady would feel happy.

"Miss Ariel..."

Ariel come out of her trance and looked at Mia who was holding out the phone to her waiting for her to hold it.

Who could it be?

Ariel wondered as she took the phone while Mia left the room after that. Could it be that Henry had called her to curse on her?

Ariel smirked. That would be quite wonderful.

However, when she put the phone on her ear and heard the voice, she was a little disappointed.

"You didn't call even once. I gave you my number for a reason."

No Hello, No Hi!

It wasn't Ariel's style too but she had never found someone who was slightly like her...until she met Adele of course.

The girl left a deep impression on her mind in the first meet only. Still, the fact that she was from Mintz family could never change.

She rolled her eyes when she made sense of what Adele said.

"I didn't know that you were missing me that much."

"Ha!"

She could imagine Adele scoffing at her words.

"I...would never miss you. We are not that close to each other."

Ariel sensed the slurring in Adele's voice and frowned.

"Are you drunk by any chance?"

She asked only to hear the other side say

"A little."

Ariel rolled her eyes. Every drunkard said that only.

"Where are you?"

She sounded completely indifferent but Adele chuckled on the other side and asked

"Why? You are worried?"

"Rubbish!"

Ariel said sharply in response.

However, Adele doesn't really seem to care about her behaviour and continued speaking

"I just came back home. ...Was welcomed by an amazing scene. That scum was beating Mom."

There was a completely silence from both sides for a few moments.

Ariel who had already made sense of what Adele was trying to say didn't know what to say. She opened and closed her mouth only to question in the end.

"Was it because of me?"

"No!"

Adele said immediately. This moment, her voice sounded so serious that Ariel doubted whether she was really drunk.

"It's because of her only. She herself is responsible for whatever is happening to her, Ariel. You and me ...we can't do anything as long as she is not ready to accept that help."
