Enticing Deal

[A&K Enterprise]

"This deal is enticing Mr. Becker but—" He closed the file. "Not enticing enough."

"This is the best deal we can give you Mr. Anderson," George Becker said as he gestured to his assistant to bring over another set of documents.

After reviewing the other document, the man sighed, "You are willing to give me everything but not what I want."

George knew exactly what he was talking about. "We already have a supplier for that."

"You can have a better one if you like." Seeing his flustered expression, the man continued. "I will give you the raw materials in thirty percent less than whatever the Fredricks are demanding."

George did not say anything as curiosity laced his thoughts. "Why are you so interested in this particular supply?"

The man sitting in front of him was one the leading business tycoons in not only the city but also the country and seeing him personally negotiating a deal which would bring no good to him and his company was very strange.

"I have my reasons," the man stated. "And I also know you want to get rid of your current supplier for almost a couple of years now."

He gestured to his assistant to give him the papers he had prepared. "I think we are doing each other a favor." He kept the file on the table. "I will wait for your call."

The man walked out of the office with his assistant before George could say something.

He contemplated for a while before asking his assistant to take the file and give it to their legal department for a thorough review. "Ask them to make it fast."

"Yes boss." Mike quickly did what he was asked.

As he was about to leave, George stopped him. "Mike, what do you think? What does he want exactly?"

Mike thought for a while before answering, "I don't know what his motives are but the numbers he is offering are quite impressive sir. We won't be able to vouch such a great deal anywhere else."

George couldn't help but agree. "You are right." He sighed, "Well, ask the legal team to review the documents first. We will see what happens after that."

When Mike stood by the door without doing what he was told, he asked, "Is there something you want to say?"

"If we manage to make Anderson Corporation one of our suppliers, it will be very beneficial for the status of our company." When George did not say anything, he added, "There are currently almost twenty companies who are trying to pitch for the new pharmaceutical company the Anderson Corporation starting by the end of this year. If we manage to maintain a good relationship with them, we might have a greater chance of winning the pitch."

"Go on," George instructed. He was clearly very interested in the direction Mike was going.

"The Andersons have had a beef with the Fredricks for years. I think he is giving us this offer so that we switch from the Fredricks to the them for the supply." Mike continued, "Well, we also wanted to break all ties with them after what Logan Fredrick did to—"

When George frowned, Mike quickly changed the subject. "What I am trying to say is, why do we have to care about what his motives are? As long as its beneficial for us and it isn't causing any trouble we should just move forward with it"
