I tapped my chin, reluctantly considering his suggestion. "It's risky. Jessica isn't stupid. She'll see right through it if I'm not careful."
Jason leaned back in his chair, the shadows from the dim office lighting sharpening his features. "Jessica isn't as clever as she thinks. Desperation clouds judgment. She's desperate now. Desperation makes people sloppy."
I sighed, leaning forward on the table. "Maybe, but she's dangerous when cornered. I know her. She'll claw her way out of anything if she smells even a hint of a trap. I need more… something ironclad."
Jason raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a small, humorless smile. "Then tell me, Kiara. What have you found?"
I hesitated, glancing at the file on the table. He had been flipping through it while I explained what Jessica and Gabriel did.
It contained most of the things that they did.
Hurtful things.
The truth was ugly, but Jason needed to hear it.
