Chapter 49

After driving around aimlessly to clear his head, Aiden got home late that night and went right into his office.

He saw the covered food Anna had placed on the dining table for him but he didn't look at it for the second time.

Hungry? No.

A heartbroken man doesn't feel hungry.

As he sat on his chair and stared at the dark screen, he remembered the first time Ariel had come into his home, into his office, this was the same place he had typed and printed the contract, and now, he had been the one who tried to cross the line between them.

He never thought he'd be the one who caved in first and asked the same girl he had scorned severally for a chance at love.

He chuckled softly, shaking his head. But, was he really the one who crossed the line? He highly believed that Ariel's feelings had changed at some point, too.

He didn't just start liking her out of nowhere, or was he the one who started it first?
