Today, I won't dwell on my hardships. Compared to other authors rummaging through garbage under bridges, I at least get to enjoy a bowl of swill soup and three pickled vegetables each day.
Aside from my eight-month-old daughter, who consumes a significant portion of my resources on milk powder and complementary foods, and my wife threatening divorce if I don't start earning more, life is actually pretty good.
So, if we're not talking about hardships, what should we discuss?
Let's talk about ideals.
I previously wrote sci-fi and automotive industry novels with decent results. According to a normal career development plan, I should be writing another book in the same genre to retain my previous readers and fans, which would ensure some stability in performance.
But writing a rural rebirth novel has always been my ideal.
Yes, the word "ideal" sounds a bit silly, but it really is my ideal.
The idea for "Er Da Ye" was already formed around June of last year, with an outline and the beginning already in place. But while finishing my old book, I was too hesitant to publish it.
I wasn't sure if my previous experience of writing 3.8 million words would be enough to express what I wanted to convey.
But in the end, the impulse of my ideal and uncontrollable writing passion led me to throw away a completed sci-fi novel with a full outline and 50,000 words of manuscript into the recycle bin. I sent it off to my editor with lightning speed, and quickly received a reply—contract signed, let's publish.
Thanks to editor Wu Tong, my ideal didn't die in the womb.
And so, you see the title "Er Da Ye," with its unremarkable description, but with content that dares not be vague.
Many characters in this book have prototypes, many are based on my own experiences or stories I've heard since childhood. I gathered these scattered grains of memory here, hoping that one day they could be built into a tower.
Now, after a two-month free period, "Er Da Ye" will be officially launched at midnight on June 30th, or the early hours of July 1st.
Thank you to every friend who has accompanied me over the past two months, and I sincerely hope you will continue to support "Er Da Ye."
With the current Qidian subscription price, each chapter costs just a dime. You might not bother to pick up a dime if it falls on the street, but it means a lot for this book. I hope you support the official version, as good results will determine the height of "Er Da Ye" tower.
In short, the time has come to see if this book has value!
I hope you will support this book, support Er Chuan, and let us move forward bravely!
As for the shelf update, if it reaches five chapters, and if I still have the energy, I'll add more.
Thanks to the generous support from leaders like Brother, Lonely GG, and Da Luo Zi Yang before the book's release. After it's up, I'll repay each supporter according to the fan rankings! The quality of writing is the priority—how long it takes cannot be guaranteed, but I will use all my strength to ensure this vehicle runs fast and steady, giving you a Rolls-Royce experience.
Finally!
I'm really in a tough spot! I only have three hundred yuan left this month, and my salary comes on the 13th. If this book flops, I might starve!
