"Ryomen Sukuna, even after resetting, I can still feel the binding vow I made with him."
"This is the first time something like this has happened. After return by death is used everything is overwritten and consequences are erased. Not regarding the mental ones of course…" Subaru continued to talk to himself while suppressing his trauma. His 17 years in Japan taught him this was the optimal way of doing things.
"Maybe… A 'binding vow' works by affecting my soul, which is then sent back in time. But if that was the case, I could be killed if someone used magic that attacks my soul directly." Subaru shook his head, he was missing something.
"No, I'm sure she wouldn't let that happen. Still, my working theory for now is that she will only intervene if necessary. I guess a minor alteration to my soul wouldn't be reset after return by death."
"But, that all leaves the matter of how I died. I can't confirm anything, but my gut tells me Sukuna did it. Which shouldn't make any sense since he just made a deal with me." Subaru's eyes then widened.
"Unless he knows about return by death. Such a thought is scary to think about. But if he made that sketchy deal with my next life in mind… Well, I have to be careful. I might not get another chance if I mess this loop up."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How did it go, Subaru?" Felix, the catboy, asked.
"All went well, the misunderstanding around Rem's blank letter has been cleared up. And Emilia-tan is now at work helping evacuate the villagers." Subaru, who is dressed in a magical white cloak that conceals his identity from those he chooses to, answered back. Due to this, Emilia still doesn't know Subaru has returned from the capital despite talking with him a minute ago.
"Rem? Don't you mean Ram?" Yuji asked.
"No, no, that's her sister. I guess if you haven't met them you could confuse their names."
"Oh, I must have forgotten she had a sister when you explained the situation earlier." Yuji sheepishly replied. In truth, Felix who was listening in also forgot but didn't feel like admitting it. Besides, it didn't feel important.
"It's time now, Subaru-dono." Wilhelm approached and informed him.
"That's right, we delayed long enough but there is still that spy to take care of."
The group went up the hill overlooking the village where they predicted the witch cult spy would be located.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wilhelm swung his sword, two cultists were dispatched. He swung it again and another two fell. The final living cultist turned around in shock before being tackled to the ground and restrained by Julius.
"We couldn't figure out how you guys stayed in touch earlier, but these metias sure are convenient aren't they?" Subaru took a magical device in the shape of a personal folding mirror from the cultist.
"H-how"?
"In short, we knew you were a spy. How we learned is a trade secret. So we set a trap for you with Emilia coming to evacuate the villagers. You predictably went here to try and contact your archbishop." Subaru explained.
"Geh!"
"Now, we have another 2 hours before your attack's schedule. During this time we will crush your cult's fingers and get Emilia and the villagers away. Then, it will be your Archbishop we will jump. Having your enemy one step ahead of you… you are about to learn just how terrifying that is!"
Julius knocked the cultist out with a touch to the forehead.
"You sure like to talk, Subaru-kyun." Felix said.
"Just letting off steam. It's been a long day, but it feels like a hellish work week if you know what I mean." Subaru replied and Felix nodded to indicate his understanding.
The group returned to the village where Emilia had set off with the village children on a dragon carriage.
"Yaha! We killed em' all!" Mimi said as she and the rest of the Iron Fang mercenary group rode back to the village on top of dogs. They had just finished killing the fingers whose location they knew and raiding their camp.
"Don't say it like that, it makes us sound like the bad guys." Her younger brother Tivey responded. "We managed to take a prisoner too!"
Brought forward and tied to a piece of wood was a gray-haired merchant with a green attire.
"He isn't part of the witch cult!" Subaru responded and laughed "I wondered why you hadn't shown up. So you got caught, Otto?"
"I don't know who you are, but thanks for saving me." Otto paused before continuing "You know what, I'm not in the mood to say that from the heart, damn it!"
After completing everything in the village, Subaru and Yuji headed to confront Betelgeuse.
"So, you said you can control your cursed energy?" Yuji asked him.
"Kinda, but it only works when I get really angry you know?" Subaru narrowed his face and made a purple flame appear on his hand while waving it. "I noticed this sooner but now it's more clear, you seem to be leaking a fair bit of cursed energy, Yuji."
"Really?" Yuji looked at his own hands but didn't notice anything.
"It's not just from there, more like all over your body, but… I think you should be able to control that. I noticed the amount of energy you leak goes up and down."
"Let me try then, mhmmmmmmm…" Yuji focused and calmed himself. Subaru stopped seeing his cursed aura.
"Oh! It worked." As soon as Subaru said so Yuji got excited and started leaking the energy again. "Aaand, it's back." In response, Yuji clenched his gut muscles. "It's gone again." Subaru stated. "What's important is that you keep it in check for when I'm talking with their Archbishop."
"Ah, I can do that!" Yuji stated.
"Great, for the plan to work. We need all his attention to be on me."
Minutes later, Subaru stood alone before an ominous cave. And before him…
"I've been waiting for you, believer in love. I am the Sin Archbishop representing sloth, Betelgeuse Romanee Conti, desu!" The sickly green figure stated and bowed respectfully.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sin Archbiship-Sama. If you could find it within you to add my body and soul to your fingers ranks, and carry out the ordeal, there would be no greater honor!" Subaru told him.
"How wondrous, how vivacious your faith is! To think there was such a devout believer out there! Forgive my sloth for failing to find him!" Betelgeuse cried and then started slamming his head repeatedly on the stone wall of the cave's entrance. "Forgive me! Forgive me! Forgive me! Forgive me! Forgive me!" He only stopped when Subaru politely asked him to.
"Ah, but, but, but. I have no way to atone for my sloth and foolishness but by punishment."
"That's not true. The Witch wouldn't want to see her beloved believer in pain. She would be happier seeing you complete the ordeal!" Subaru told him confidently.
"Yes! You are completely right! The ordeal, what she needs of me now is the ordeal! Your words have opened my eyes. Thank you! Thank you!" Betelgeuse went forward and forced Subaru into a hug. "With the ordeal, we must test her… To see if the half-devil is a worthy vessel, if she is worthy of putting the Witch into."
"Put the Witch into? A vessel?" Subaru responded with concern.
"If She is, the Witch will possess her. If not, discard her. If she proves a worthy vessel for the Witch, then the Witch will be reborn back into this world on the coming fated day."
"So what you are saying is, Emilia is just a tool for you, a convenient tool to be used or discarded?" Subaru responded back angrily. "You monster…" Subaru's cursed energy has reached its highest level so far.
"The words inscribed in the gospel tell of her love. All of it guides my path!" Betelgeuse pulled his gospel out of a coat pocket to show Subaru. "Show me your gospel."
In response, Subaru pulled out a familiar folding hand mirror.
"This is?" Betelgeuse asked calmly.
"Just what it looks like, a metia, Archbishop-Sama."
"Oh, I see him, I see him. Huh! He is just as ugly as you described!" On the mirror, appeared Felix Arygle.
"Who are you exactly? No, who are you people?!" Betelgeuse asked, shocked and betrayed.
Subaru clicked his fingers and closed the mirror. Less than a second later, Betelgeuse was hit to the side by a dropkick from red shoes. The force caused him to roll multiple times as Itadori Yuji took a stand next to Subaru.
"Our surprise attack was a success!" Subaru declared and grinned. Betelgeuse quickly got back up. He didn't look injured besides a nosebleed. "I hit him with full force, you were right about him being tough Subaru."
"A surprise attack, a surprise! Then How about this?!" Betelgeuse shouted and sent over 20 unseen hands lunging forward.
Subaru quickly jumped on Yuji's back "Now!" Yuji jumped to the side to dodge the invisible hands that ended up hitting the place where he once stood. "Right!" He responded back.
"How? How can you see my Authority?!"
"Who knows? Ask the Witch that left her stinky energy all over me. Oh right, unlike me you haven't received the pass that lets you meet with the Witch at any time."
"What do you mean? How dare you speak as if you are intimate with the Witch?"
"We're so close, that she's grabbed my heart. Literally." Subaru winked.
"Inconceivable! That cannot be true!" Betelgeuse chewed his fingers and prepared more unseen hands.
"Let's go, Yuji!" With that signal from Subaru, Yuji kicked the dirt and began to run.
Normally, running with a person on your back would be incredibly difficult. Even for trained athletes sprinting this way was next to impossible. But for Itadroi Yuji, there was no issue surpassing what should be the human speed limit.
"Ghk!" Subaru held on tight to Yuji's shoulders to avoid falling off from the rapid acceleration. He raised his head and saw Betelgeuse chasing after them by floating on a giant unseen hand. "Don't look back Yuji! He's coming closer, fast!"
"Hold on tight, Subaru!" Followed by those words, was a cyan flare of cursed energy. And Itadori Yuji went up a gear.
'Holy crap!' Subaru would shout if the air wasn't sucked from his lungs, because he felt like he was strapped to a rocket lifting off.
"Do not think you can get away desu!" Betelgeuse sped up his flight after the two boys zooming through the forest. Trickles of blood left from his eyes as he pushed his Authority to the limit. "Just who are you!" He shouted struggling to keep up.
The rest of the cultists helping him were forced to give up the chase due to their inadequate speed. Before they could reposition they were intercepted by the Iron Fang mercenary group.
"AHHH" With a shout, Mimi and Tivey brought forward a strong exploding wind that killed two cultists.
"They are so fast, Mimi, you think that one is the Archbishop?" Tivey pointed to Betelgeuse who was quickly disappearing over the canopies.
"Ha! He is all balled up!" She laughed. To those who don't see the unseen hand, Betelgeuse looks quite ridiculous riding on top of it. "Probably, if he is that fast he must be plenty strong too." Mimi responded to him.
Back on the chase, Itadori Yuji was beginning to show the first signs of exhaustion allowing Betelgeuse to close the distance somewhat.
"Just who, who are you?" Betelgeuse asked "None of this was in the gospel! Just who… who are you?"
"You've asked that four times now. If we are talking nightmares, I've had far more than you."
"Then you, are… or both of you are… you truly are Pride's replacement-"
"My name is Natsuki Subaru, I am the silver-haired half-elf, Emilia's one and only knight!" Subaru cut him off. "I don't care about this Pride stuff. Being Emilia's knight is the only title I want!"
"Subaru." Yuji told him, a bit out of breath. This was the signal that they had arrived at the clearing and cliff where Yuji had been running too. Ragged sharp boulders fit the area. To Subaru, this place brought bad memories from one of his previous ends, but for now, it will work well enough.
Subaru jumped off his back and stood up. Betelgeuse lowered himself back to the ground and stood in front of them. "What is this place?" Betelgeuse asked.
"This is a place…" He glanced at Yuji and paused for a moment. "It's a place where someone I know once met their end, and it will be where your end will be too."
Yuji looked surprised and sympathetic. Behind the slits under his eyes. The 'Imaginary Demon' Somewhat took an interest. "Just who is Natsuki referring to here…" For the King of Curses, discerning someone with poor cursed energy control's emotions, was as simple as breathing. Naturally, telling if he was lying was easy too. "Is this the 'trade secret' behind your foresight?" He chuckled at figuring it out. "I think I get now, how some of my soul got inside you. Seriously, what a ridiculous cursed technique." It was ridiculous, it was so preposterous that it should be outside the realm of jujutsu. But, if a powerful binding vow was involved, like giving away your own life. Perhaps… it may be possible under certain conditions. And those conditions were yet to be fully revealed to Sukuna.
"If your goal was to lead me to this place, what have you prepared for me?" Betelgeuse asked Subaru.
"Your natural enemy, one me and you have in common." Subaru looked at Julius who was standing on the top of the cliff.
"Natural enemy? That's a fine way to call me." Julius said and jumped down the cliff. The spirit knight landed gracefully next to Subaru with the help of his spirits who slowed the fall.
"I am Julius Juukulius, of the Lugunica Imperial Knights."
"I am Itadori Yuji, a student in Tokyo Jujutsu High School." The pink-haired boy next to him stated.
"I am the Kingdom's sword that will slay you." Julius said.
"A spirit arts user, and a second boy loved by the Witch. You lot were diligent in your scheme weren't you? I have never known such humiliation!"
"You should save that line for when we have beaten you." Itaodri responded.
"Do it, Julius." Subaru told him.
"Are you sure? I am the man who brutally beat you. I still believe my behavior was backed by reason. But that is self justification, which has nothing to do with you." Julius drew his sword and prepared his spirits. "Can you trust me?"
"I hate you"
"Yeah, I know"
"Having someone break your arms and legs like that is traumatic. Don't you know about restraint?"
"I did hold back quite a bit."
"Seriously? That was you holding back? You really are the kind of guy I hate the most. I can hardly stand the sight of you, finest knight. So then, I will trust you. My shame attests to the knowledge that you are an incredible knight."
"Then, with all my soul. I should live up to that!" Julius declared and smiled.
"Is this farce over yet? What do you expect adding a spirits art user and some boy will do for you? I will pass judgment upon you three, tear apart those who remain, and resume the ordeal. That's all that will be. My diligence knows neither slothful resignation nor demise!" Betelgeuse screamed and sent dozens of unseen hands toward Julius, aiming to crush him in place. "Sloth! Sloth! Sloth SLOTH!"
"Al Clarista!" Julius' sword shined a brilliant white rainbow as he cut the invisible appendages apart in a wide arc.
"You… You should not be able to see it. It should be invisible to you. My unseen hand can be seen? No, it shouldn't! You shouldn't be able to see it! And not by just one, but two people other than me!!!" Betelgeuse shouted.
"I'm the only one who can see it, Betelgeuse." Subaru told.
"Huh!?"
"Julius can only see what I'm seeing. It feels much creepier than I expected."
"I can share your senses by using Nect, the downside is that it goes both ways. When you first proposed this, I questioned your sanity." Julius said.
"Well, it worked. A man is all about guts, you gotta dare to win." Subaru responded.
"Itadori volunteered as well, however, my buds could not find his gate. Still, my sword alone will be enough to end you."
Back then: "Sloth can summon over 50 invisible hands, each one stronger than a human hand." Subaru told Julius.
"If you are telling me not to hold back, I shall heed your advice."
"It's just, if it's just you fighting, do you think there is a chance you would lose?" Subaru asked, worried. Julius paused, he was confident but considered how to reassure Subaru.
"I would win." Julius stated with full confidence.
"Curse you! Curse you! Curse you! Curse you! Curse you! Curse you!!!" Betelgeuse shouted angrily. He raised his maximum amount of unseen hands and crashed numerous trees all around. The amount of dust and dirt kicked up allowed even Yuji to see the outlines of the Authority.
"Itadori, stay next to Subaru. You've already done your part. The opponent is too strong to fight unarmed." Julius told him.
"U-understood." He responded and stepped back. 'Something like this, would Julius really win?' He already saw Julius fight yesterday. Yet, the raw power displayed here was greater then even Sukuna had shown.
As a dozen unseen hands went to attack them all, the finest knight's sword glowed white. He closed his eyes to focus on Subaru's perception. "Using your eyes, I shall slay him… My friend, Natsuki Subaru!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Their dance was intense. Betelgeuse would send unseen hands to try and overwhelm Julius, and the knight would cut them all apart, most of the time.
This would repeat over and over in less than a minute. When one hand slips through Julius' guard it would tear a piece of skin or flesh of him before being quickly dispatched. This steady accumulation of damage would result in defeat if allowed to persist.
"Subaru, I'm about to speed up!"
"I can keep up, go for it!"
Julius put more mana into his legs. He ran quickly in a zig-zag pattern to try and close the distance with Betelgeuse.
"You will not DESU!" The Sin Archbishop gathered over twenty unseen hands into one huge hand and swiftly slapped Julius with it. He was unable to dodge and blocked the side of his body and his sword to mitigate the damage. He was knocked into a boulder. Instead of causing a loud crash, his spirits formed a thin bouncy barrier that catapulted Julius into the air.
Betelgeuse capitalized on the opportunity and sent forward fifty unseen to Julius who could not dodge. "It is over desu!" He grinned in triumph, however… Julius' six spirits quickly danced around his sword, bathing it in an immense amount of mana and rainbow light.
"Al Clauzeria!" Julius shouted as he pointed his sword towards Betelgeuse and released his strongest attack. A blinding large and quick beam of rainbow mana of all six elements shot forward. Upon contact with anything deafening shockwaves were released that easily dispersed all the unseen hands as it made its way toward Betelgeuse and hit him head-on.
"GEHHH!!" Betelgeuse spat out blood as he was burned and knocked back. If he hadn't raised his arms with cursed energy to block the attack at the last moment, he would have been a goner. A second later Julius landed in front of Betelgeuse. He was able to achieve this impossible feat of speed by kicking the air on his feet while his spirits turned it solid for a brief moment.
"Hrga!" Julius stabbed aiming for the heart. Betelgeuse blocked with his left arm. The knight's sword met his palm and went through the arm to the shoulder. Julius raised the sword to get it out, and in the same move he also completed the severing of the arm.
"GRHHHA-" Betelgeuse began to cry but was swiftly silenced by a mana-powered kick to his gut. He flew a considerable distance backward and his back crashed into the rocky cliff. His eyes rolled backward, and Julius walked forward.
"Your memory will not be missed, Archbishop." The knight brought his sword backward to prepare for a final thrust. The sword glowed white, but the Archbishop was far from as unconscious as he seemed. A single unseen hand attempted to hit his chin assuming it was unguarded. Julius expected such trickery and easily parried it by bringing his sword over the shoulder with the tip pointing forward still prepared to thrust.
"Did you really think I would fall for your sorry performance-" Julius tried to say, but, a second unseen hand had made its way through the floor and upwards between his legs. Being considered the finest of Lugunica's Imperial Knights, Julius had achieved the peak of human possibility with all knightly qualities. Among them, pain tolerance was no expectation. The brutal crush on his groin thus resulted in no cry. Regardless, every man would experience a response that even training could not overcome. A stun. His nervous system, for a very brief moment, could not respond.
During this very brief moment, his eyes and brain had no trouble perceiving and responding to a right fist, charged with cursed energy heading straight to his midsection. No trouble at all, and yet, the signal never made it past his neckbone. Not in time for that overwhelming force.
"DESU!!!" As Betelgeuse's fist made contact, his diligence resulted in black lighting. A dance of thundering love rang out. The force was so large as to send Julius flying straight back into the thick of the trees. Several loud crashes accompanied the distant "landing." And what seemed like a dozen canopies disappeared.
"Julius!" Subaru cried out in concern. Nect was annulled the moment that flash of black sparks hit, with it any lingering pain from their shared perceptions.
The implication was quite clear, Julius was out of the fight.
"That love! Her love! Such love, after such diligence. My faith in her love has never wavered!!!" Betelgeuse cried tears of joy and stepped forward. He wasn't looking at anyone or anything in particular. Using unseen hands, he was raised to the air with his back curved and facing downwards. To those who cannot see those unseen appendages, it was quite a sight.
"Throughout Od Laguna and Earth, I alone am the diligent one." Cyan flames of cursed energy enveloped the Archbishop and went skywards creating a brilliant sight. With his right hand, he formed what looked like a hand sign.
"Is he, high?" Yuji asked.
"Maybe, but… Yuji! GET AWAY!" Subaru pushed Yuji to the side.
"Domain Expansion:" Betelgeuse's handsign would usually consist of two real hands accompanied by 4 invisible ones. However, compensating for his lost left hand with an additional invisible hand was no issue at all. Subaru had already explained this domain to Yuji. The pink-haired sorcerer kicked the earth to gain more speed. By the skin of his teeth, he was able to escape the range of the enclosing black barrier.
"Subaru!" He struck the barrier with his fist but made no progress. They planned that Yuji will run outside of the domain's range should Betelgeuse use it, and break it. This barrier, It didn't seem so tough. So why? Why wouldn't it break??
"Argahh!!!" He put more conviction into his flurry of punches. Cracks began to appear on the barrier's surface when cursed energy was unconsciously applied. It was working! He greedily grasped that feeling of using cursed energy as he watched his right fist glow bright cyan. Itadroi Yuji pulled it back and grasped it with his left palm. A moment later, he unleashed it with full force.
(((The domain, known as "Forest of Tragedy," imposes a unique rule on all individuals within its boundaries. It forbids the activation of cursed techniques, imposing a substantial penalty on those who violate this rule. This restriction applies equally to Betelgeuse and all others inside the domain, making it distinct from sure-hit effects and resistant to low-level anti-domain measures. However, if a technique was utilized to activate the domain, it will deactivate and require a penalty to be reactivated within "Forest of Tragedy."
The duration of "Forest of Tragedy" is limited to three minutes, during which time a Shikigami resembling a young half-elf girl will emerge and proceed towards a seal. If she successfully opens the seal, the domain will end, and Betelgeuse will receive a massive boost to his cursed energy and technique for a period equal to the duration of the domain.
The ice statues within the domain serve the sole purpose of protecting the young
half-elf Shikigami and preventing any interference with her mission to open the seal.)))
This information assaulted his brain as soon as his fist created a human-sized hole in the barrier. This was not the intended result. Subaru theorized that a single break on the outside would cause the structure to shatter like a glass dome. Clearly, there was more to it than that.
"Subaru!" Inside the snowy forest, he did not see any semblance of Subaru. An ice statue came to assault him, he was ready to counter but soon the environment once again changed. As quickly as he got inside the domain disappeared. With the seal opened, an ocean of cursed energy radiated from Betelgeuse who seemed to be floating in the air. In front of Yuji, Subaru was standing quite surprised and with a fist almost meeting his face.
"Yuji?" He turned around when he felt the powerful aura. "Shit, so my plan failed after all."
"Now! I'll end both of you conniving pretenders! While doing so, I will diligently tear the love you have fraudulently acquired from your thieving bodies!" Betelgeuse declared as he floated towards them. Usually, after the end of a domain, a cursed technique would be unstable and nigh impossible to use. But, due to the combined effects of experiencing a black flash and the deluge of cursed energy, the unseen hand could be used without a single issue, and its output has only drastically increased.
Hundreds, perhaps thousands of unseen hands shot out in all directions. The forest shook like an earthquake as trees were uprooted indiscriminately. Itadori Yuji could not hope to dodge as uncountable invisible hands pressed him to the dirt attempting to crush him.
Subaru clawed at the large dark mass pinning his friend. "Damn you Betelgeuse! How many more times will I have to do this?!" His heart sank when he saw blood leak from its sides. An unseen hand grabbed his throat, and the bones of his neck creeked under the pressure. Subaru moved to claw at that hand desperately trying catch a whiff of breath. His vision darkened quickly, within seconds, his consciousness would surely fade along with the last oxygen in his brain.
CLING! The dark mass holding Yuji down exploded in a shower of slices. In the center, stood a tattooed menace with his arms spread to the side. His busted bones and blood vessels quickly regenerated, and within seconds, the blood covering his body was the only evidence of the previous damage.
"What an utterly dumb brat!" Sukuna shouted cheerfully yet manically. "In this place, this prison can't hope to hold me!" He cackled in glee. He looked to the side and saw Subaru on the verge of death. "Need a hand, Natsuki?" With pure grip strength, Sukuna annihilated the unseen hand crushing Subaru's windpipe.
Subaru fell to his knees taking in air greedily and coughing.
"That's a good position to be in, but you are allowed to stand for now." Sukuna said with a gleeful expression. "Once I destroy that worm, We'll have a nice chat." Sukuna stretched his back as his grin grew wider. His eyes shifted to the over 500 unseen hands coming to crash them both. They merged into a huge hand, with a width comparable to a whale. He couldn't see it directly, but all that dust kicked up and the trail of cursed energy made it trivial to perceive the unseen hands. "Dragon Scales, Repulsion, Pair of Meteors." When he completed the chant, he pointed his right hand forward in the shape of a gun. "Hehe, look out." A small mouth on his stomach spoke. "Maximum Output: Dismantle." His main mouth said.
Barreling forward was a massive invisible slash that tore everything apart. The Earth split like a chasm, and when it reached the unseen hands, for a moment it slowed down. Yet, they too were split apart and dispatched. A look of fear crossed Betelgeuse's eyes. A split second later that relentless slash will reach him. He jumped to the side. On his right, the ground split and exploded. His right hand met the same fate, the wide slash had made it disappear at the wrist.
Betelgeuse looked at Sukuna "What trick is this!? Where have you been hiding that love you stole!!?" He shot more unseen hands forward, which Sukuna had no trouble weaving between as he closed the distance. "You too! You can see it too!!! Argahhh!!!" Tears streamed from the side of his eyes.
"Insane spirit, don't you think you have lived long enough?" Sukuna said with a hint of disdain.
"You!-grahh!" Betelgeuse's words were cut off when a painful diagonal cut appeared on his body followed by a flick of Sukuna's fingers. When Sukuna flicked his fingers again, the Archbishop raised a wall of unseen hands to block the cut. Meanwhile, his body was repairing itself.
"Reverse cursed technique. I'm sure you never learned it, so it must be doing of your crutch of a domain." It made sense in Sukuna's mind. Since Betelgeuse's body was flooded by endless cursed energy, his body reflexively healed itself with the reverse cursed technique.
"In this case, how about I show you." Sukuna glanced at Subaru. "What a proper domain is like." Sukuna put his hands in a triangle hand sign and Betelgeuse's face turned fearful. He rushed to open his own domain out of pure survival instinct.
"Domain Expansion:" They both said at the same time, however, the clash of their barriers didn't last 3 whole seconds. All three stood in a blood-soaked cave, and Sukuna smiled wickedly.
