Chapter twenty six

"Thank you, Ethan," Madisyn whispered softly, her voice barely above a breath. "For everything."

"You don't have to thank me yet. Not unless you get the revenge you want. Then maybe you can thank me," Ethan replied, smiling.

Madisyn offered a small smile in return. As the car reached a halt in front of a modest hotel, Ethan paid for the ride without a word.

They stepped out the cab r, the neon lights of the hotel flickering against the twilight. It was a nondescript place pretty, simple surely far from the luxury Ethan was used to. In fact, Madisyn knew this was the kind of place he wouldn't be caught dead in under normal circumstances, but for her, he didn't hesitate coming there.

As they entered, the buzz of murmurs quickly filled the air. Heads turned almost immediately toward Ethan, eyes widening in recognition.

And Just when Madisyn felt finally relieved she was back with negative thoughts and concerns.
