Chapter 22

It was five in the morning when Avery yawned and quietly sneaked back into her bedroom. She quickly washed up and collapsed onto the bed, falling asleep instantly.

At 7:30, her alarm screeched with a piercing sound, waking her up abruptly. Her bloodshot eyes showed she didn't have enough sleep, but she had no choice but to drag herself out of bed. She brushed her teeth lazily, her eyes heavy with sleep, breaking occasionally into yawns, and she dressed in her work clothes

After feeding on two blood bags, she grabbed her suitcase and glanced at the other box before heading towards the garage.

Seeing her boss, she just murmured a slight greeting and entered the car without waiting for his response.

Avery yawned again, and her eyes watered as she settled into the car seat. Lucas saw her tired face and assumed her troubling problems kept her awake throughout the night.
