As soon they got to the company, Avery stormed into his office, the pen in her hands flashing. Her mood sank further.

She squatted under the desk, finding a small listening device, then spotted a tiny camera hidden near the door, blending well with the dark paint.

Lucas clenched his fist tightly from suppressed anger. Avery's warm hands wrapped around his, loosening his grip. He looked up to meet her gaze- her red eyes flickered with fury, it was barely concealed by her contact lenses.

Avery was livid; she barely held in her anger, and her hands trembled against his.

"City A isn't safe anymore. We need to leave," she said with a steady voice that was laced with urgency. She had a hunch that last night's attack was just the beginning.

The sudden roar of helicopter blades cut through the air. Both of them turned to the window feeling baffled.
