Zhou Mingchen walked in and found the living room empty, the usual sight of Xia Lu clutching fruit while laughing out loud at videos was nowhere to be seen.
"Achen, come have some fruit," Xia Zhiqiu came out of the kitchen and kindly invited him, "I bought cherries from Chile today, let's try them, they're quite sweet."
"Where's Xia Lu?"
"Oh, she's been cooped up in her room, seemingly busy with something of her own. I don't really understand," Xia Zhiqiu chuckled, although she knew Xia Lu was dealing with work, she couldn't outright say it. After all, on her first day her daughter had strictly told her that she's not allowed to work and must never slip up about it.
Zhou Mingchen took off his coat and headed straight upstairs.
Hearing the knocking, Xia Lu quickly closed her laptop, shoved it into the drawer, gathered some documents to stuff alongside, and placed her iPad on the small sofa beside her, all in one swift action before she went to the door.
