044 Hold Your Horses!

Aurelius's brows creased as he read the system's message, "What do you mean, system?" he asked, thinking back to what the system had said, 'Did I miss something?' he wondered.

Asking a werewolf demon to be her alpha would be much more logical than approaching her and saying, 'Hey! I'm a god! Worship me!'

But with this approach, Aurelius thought at least the conversation would be more logical, involving discussions about benefits and such, making it much easier to convert.

But, 'The system is saying that there is something more!'

[Ding!]

[Answering the host!]

[Alpha is an important position in the werewolf demon race. It is more important than anything in their lives, even their children, as the alpha has the power to decide their fate and that of their descendants!]

[Therefore, any werewolf demon would think twice before naming their alpha, as it essentially means giving up their freedom!]

Aurelius's eyes narrowed as he read the system's message, his face scrunched up, turning into a scowl as a sense of understanding dawned on him.

"Hah!" Aurelius snorted angrily as he threw his arms into the air. Anger rose in his heart as his eyes shone with frustration.

"What a dogshit luck I have! Just when I thought I could level up quicker, another obstacle appears in my path! Fuck!"

Aurelius cursed his fate as he kicked the water in the bath; cold water splashed across the room, yet it could not subdue the fire blazing in him.

The system stayed silent as Aurelius continued cursing his fate, releasing all his anger.

"...Fuck!" First, it was Esper, barging into his life way too early, dragging him into a place where he was nothing but an ant. Even then, Aurelius didn't make a fuss and made plans to face all the colossal mammoths he was going to meet.

But, just as when he thought he had found a way to level up quickly, he was shown a middle finger down his throat by fate, causing him to burst out, letting out all his anger.

Aurelius cursed for another few minutes before he calmed down.

"Haaah!" Taking a long breath, Aurelius sat back in the bathtub, soaking his body back into the cold water.

"It's no use cursing when I am weak as an ant," he mumbled to himself as he gritted his teeth. Even though he was quite frustrated, he had to rein in his anger and think about his future: "I cannot be lazy and curse that bitch fate every time for my misfortune!"

As Aurelius calmed himself down, the system, which had been silent until now, sent another message to him as the blue screen flickered open.

[Ding!]

[The system suggests that the host calm down!]

[Although the host has made a mistake and is now on his way to the demon continent. The system advises the host to use his time on the demon continent to level up!]

Aurelius's mouth twitched as he narrowed his eyes at the system's message, "What do you think I wanted to do there, play tag with the powerhouses!?" Aurelius sneered as he replied to the system; he didn't like the fact that the system, which had been silent since the day Esper showed up, was advising him again.

[Ding!]

[The host needs to level up fast if he wants to keep his life!]

"Duh!" Aurelius scoffed, "Of course I need to level up to keep my life; did you think I was that dumb? If I can't level up, I will die or become a gigolo!"

Aurelius waited for the system to reply, but the system, as if offended by his remarks, had turned mute and did not reply.

'Hah! What should I do now?' Aurelius asked himself, "hmm, nothing changes," he mumbled again, calming down from his outburst with the system.

He closed his eyes and thought about the plans, thinking to see if it needed any changes, "Hmm, although the system said that it is difficult to convince a werewolf woman to accept me as her alpha, it didn't say it was difficult."

Aurelius mumbled as he slowly opened his eyes, "Although it is difficult, still, it could be done. After all, reserving some, every other woman's needs are quantifiable."

Every person in the world has some requirements in their leader or their partner; it could be the list of physical qualities, a list of monetary requirements, or a list of emotional requirements.

But everyone has a list, either consciously or unconsciously. "But that also means that their needs are quantifiable."

If something can be quantified, it means that it can also be fulfilled; "all I have to do is promise to fulfil those requirements."

Aurelius mumbled as a small smile bloomed on his face as a way opened in his mind, "Of course, I might have to fulfil some of their requirements before I can convert them, but then again, I could just ignore the cases where I can't fulfil them."

Aurelius's mind sharpened as it raced at an incredible speed, as he understood something, "I have been doing this unconsciously from the beginning," he mumbled as a proud smile crept onto his lips, "Even for Elara, her requirement was to heal Aria. For Lilith, it was to shut me up and try to find the non-existent followers of mine. For Elise, it was to take revenge and offer her protection."

Aurelius closed his eyes once again as he began to sway his body sideways, feeling the cold sensation crawling on his skin; he mumbled, "The requirements they had when I met them are grossly different from what they might have had a few years ago."

If Aria weren't sick, it would have been really tough for Aurelius to convert her and her mother. If Lilith didn't want to know more about his followers, he would have died on that day. If Elise hadn't been bullied, she might have never asked for his protection and accept him as her alpha.

"So, therefore, all I have to do is know their requirements," Aurelius mumbled as he concluded.

But then, out of nowhere, the system, which had turned silent, messaged Aurelius.

[Ding!]

[The system advises the host to think in reverse!]
