Weird

"You little asshole! You leave us alone, don't tell us where you're going, and now you show up like nothing happened!" The men yelled at Adam as he walked up to them.

"Dad, I can explain, I was just..." Adam was cut off by a fist that landed right in the middle of his face. The shocking part was that it wasn't his dad who was hitting him, but a girl who looked to be in the same age range as Adam.

What was going on?

"Adam, you cunt! I should kick you in the balls for not telling me you were leaving." Said the girl, her face turning red from all the anger she felt while her black hair twirled in the wind thanks to the aggressive approach and the emotions that controlled her at that moment.

After Adam recovered from the blow, he started to smile and hugged the girl with much enthusiasm. It looked kind of funny, if you ask me. A giant hugging a little kid who just punched him in the face a few minutes ago.

Maybe it's a family thing or something werewolves do?

"I missed you, Marie. How was my older sister while I was gone? Did you finally find your mate?" he asked with a smile. Adams words angered the woman, causing her face to twist in fury. The bystanders, including myself and Adam's father, began to move away as a sense of danger permeated the air.

"No, I didn't, you ass! You don't need to remind me." Sadness enveloped her voice, but you could see that she started to hug him back, even though I could tell that she wanted to hit him again. Maybe the hug was a way to contain her anger, or maybe she just wanted to make him feel safe before she struck again.

After some time of Adam hugging his pack members, Marie turned to me with a confused face. Now I could finally see her clearly. Her black hair that was long enough to reach her waist and her brown eyes that didn't stop looking at me. She looked out of the ordinary except for her height, thanks to the other members of her pack, who were all at least six feet tall, she could have been mistaken for one of the pack's children. The fact that she was even older than Adam confused me.

"Who is that little brother? Have you finally come out?" Marie asked with a grin on her face. The other pack members laughed in the background. Adam's dad snorted.

"What!? No, no, I'm just a friend of Adam's." I quickly denied, trying to look as confident as possible.

"Yes. He's just a friend. I met him near Paris, and he helped me get home. His name is Francis, he's a witch." Adam said as he put his arm around my shoulder.

Yeah, put your arm around me right after your pack asked us if we were together. Good job Adam, good job.

"Oh! Really? Then I must thank you for returning this sack of potatoes. You leave for about two minutes, and he is already out of your sight for at least a month." Marie said with a smile as she gave Adam a look. It only took one look at them to know that they were siblings, they really looked similar.

"Hey! What does that mean?" Adam asked with a pout.

"I think everyone next to you knows what it means." Adam's father came closer and greeted me with an almost unrecognizable smile on his face.

"So, son, I need you to tell me everything that happened to you in my office, and Francis, I want you to join us for dinner, if that is, okay?"

I could tell he was really nice. His smile was sincere. What I could also see was the resemblance to Adam. His brown hair and blue eyes were especially the same as Adam's, he also had a beard, and his build weirdly enough reminded me of Schwarzenegger. It seemed to be something normal for werewolves, because even Adam's sister had muscles decorating her body, maybe not as obvious and big as her brothers, but when you looked at her, you could see that she wasn't someone to get into a fight with.

Maybe I should start training? Nah, I'm too lazy for that.

"Yes Francis, come eat with my pack. Afterwards I can take you to the coven." Adam asked with a big toothy smile on his face. I knew he just wanted to postpone my meeting with the coven, but I couldn't think of a reason why I should not accept free food… Well maybe so that I don't need to be in constant fear of being molested by a horny werewolf brother.

"Okay, but you have to promise me that your brother will be at least 10 meters away from me." I said with a straight face. My skin started to shiver immediately after Louis crossed my mind.

"Oh, that horny thing will not be eating with us today. It would be too dangerous to have him at the same table with 10 female werewolves, or any werewolf for that matter, if I'm being honest". Marie chuckled.

"That's reasonable."

After half the pack went to their bedrooms and Marie dragged the needy Louis to his room, we sat around the dining table and talked.

Adam began to explain how we met and my reaction when I realized he was naked. Quite a story, if I do say so myself.

"Well, that sounds like something my son would do. I'm impressed you didn't curse him, Francis." Oliver, Adam's father, said, followed by many laughs around the table.

Yeah, I'm impressed too.

"I thought about it, but it seemed too time consuming." I replied. Everyone except Adam started laughing hysterically.

"Did you hear that brother; he didn't even want to curse you? No wonder you still don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend." Marie said with a big grin, at the end of the sentence she even winked at me. Yeah... Let's just ignore that.

After some time of chatting, I was able to find out a bit more about Adam's family. Marie said that I hadn't met her youngest brother Peter because he was visiting a friend, I said that it wasn't necessary for me to get to know every member of their family and if I was honest, I wouldn't survive another member of Adam's family today.

They also talked a bit about their schooling. It seemed that Adam was not the only genius in the family; Peter, his younger brother, was also very good at school, even winning several math and language competitions. Marie, it seemed, was also a rare occurrence in the family in her education, as she was currently in danger of failing her classes. The way she talked about it, though, she didn't seem too worried. Good for her.

"Okay, Francis, come; I will take you to the coven now." Adam got up from the dining table and walked away from it without looking at my direction.

"Oh. Ok. Thank you for dinner. It was nice to meet you all." I thanked the people at the table and stood up.

"No problem, Francis. I hope you will visit us again sometime; I have to tell you all the embarrassing stories about Adam". Marie informed me with a smile.

That would be very useful, especially for blackmail.

"I can't wait." I replied with a chuckle.

"Hey! When did you become friends?" Adam pouted, waiting by the door and looking at my approaching figure.

"Since I realized she was the normal one in your family."

Adam didn't answer and just left the dining room. By the time we left the mansion, the sun already started to disappear leaving an orange hue that decorated the neighbourhood adoringly. It seemed like I had spent the whole day with Adam without realizing it.

How much time have I spent with this pack of werewolves? I wondered as I followed Adam to the other side of the street.

It seemed like the coven was just across the street in another mansion.

Why didn't he show me their home when we first arrived?

Adam didn't even bother to ring the bell and just walked into the house. I could tell he visited the place often and was already familiar with the house and its inhabitants. I really didn't think they were that close, but it seemed I was wrong.

And as we started to take off our shoes and put them aside, we suddenly heard a loud thud and turned our eyes to the stairs. A body tumbled down with great force, and as she landed face down on the floor, a huge bang echoed throughout the mansion. She didn't even try to raise her head, just holding her hand in the air.

"I'm fine!"

Where the hell am I and why is everyone in this town just crazy?
