To The Clinic!

Five months later.

"Miss Grey, it's time to close up the store. Do you want me to drive you to your house?" Mrs. Baker kindly offered her a ride, which Lucy regrettably rejected.

"Sorry, Mrs. Baker, I think I'll stay a bit longer." Lucy motioned her hands towards the mess on the floor and smiled awkwardly. "I still have much to clean up."

Mrs. Baker sighed. "You know, you can clean that tomorrow, or I can tell my son to do it. You need to rest."

Lucy thought of Mrs. Baker's son, Luciano, who was a high school student. The offer was tempting, but she couldn't bother someone with anything right now. Especially, a young boy who would prefer to hang out with the neighborhood kids and classmates.

After being refused again, Mrs. Baker no longer insisted. As she stepped out of the store after saying goodbye, her eyes moved to the apron Lucy was wearing, which barely did anything to hide the baby bump.
