Early the next morning, in a professor's office at Hai City University, Professor Wang Yuankui tossed aside a patent application with a disappointed sigh.
Students often brought their technological innovations to him, but none had ever piqued his interest.
"All too ordinary. Does my vast Hai City University really have nothing outstanding to offer?" Professor Wang lamented, just as he received several emails.
"Which cheeky student sent so many documents at once? Alright, let's see what they've got, one at a time," he muttered, putting on his reading glasses.
Opening the files, he found six technical proposals, complete with operating principles, technical analyses, and design diagrams.
- Bionic Sonar Material
- Silicon-based Battery
- Triple-refraction Photovoltaic
- Constant Pressure Regulation Chamber
- Superconducting Wire
- 72-Micron Chip Welding Gun
"Six inventions? This kid is quite the researcher!"
Ten minutes later...
Bang!
Professor Wang slammed his fist on the table, eyes wide with excitement.
"This bionic resonant material can absorb almost all radar detection waves, and it's cheap to produce. If applied to buildings, no matter how large, it would make them invisible to top-tier detectors!"
"This silicon-based battery has thirteen times the electron binding capacity of a lithium battery!"
He abruptly stood up, trembling. "Triple-refraction photovoltaic... It's an optimization of solar power generation technology!"
"The 72-micron chip welding gun can produce chips far more advanced than those made with current technology!"
"These... these are revolutionary creations!"
If these technologies were used appropriately, they could spark a technological revolution! Professor Wang's heart raced. Which of his students was this brilliant? How did he not know?
Scrolling down, a name appeared.
"Liu Di?"
Professor Wang adjusted his glasses quickly, and then Liu Di's message came into view:
*"Student Liu Di, graduate of Hai City University, under the tutelage of Professor Wang Yuankui. Having achieved some academic success, I wish to share these findings with my alma mater, hoping the university can provide some support."*
"It's Liu Di? Wasn't he...?"
This kid, still as outstanding as ever! Professor Wang hurriedly printed out all the documents and rushed to the dean's office.
Thirty minutes later, in the dean's office.
Li Weimin, a renowned economist in China and the current president and dean of management at Hai City University, held the documents with trembling hands. He knew very well that any one of these patents could represent the university at evaluations and sweep numerous awards!
If any one of these were developed into a project, it could easily secure as much funding from the state as they wanted!
If any one of these were made public, it would thrust Hai City University into the national spotlight for producing such talent!
"Professor Wang, are you sure this is your student?" Dean Li asked excitedly.
"Yes, I just saw him yesterday!" Professor Wang nodded firmly.
Dean Li pointed to a line at the end of the documents. "He says here that he needs some support from the university. What kind of support does he want? Money?"
Professor Wang frowned, thinking for a long moment. "He mentioned wanting to buy the 'Experimental Graveyard'... So, it seems he's not working with Guo Qian after all?"
Dean Li was stunned. "He wants that old property?"
"Yes!" Professor Wang nodded. "Is it worth it?"
Dean Li slapped the table. "Absolutely worth it! Old Wang, contact Liu Di immediately. I want to meet with him personally!"
"Oh, and bring Guo Qian here too. I want to crush his plans to develop that site for good!"
"Alright!"
An hour later, when Guo Qian arrived enthusiastically at the dean's office, he was taken aback to see Liu Di sitting leisurely on the sofa, sipping tea.
Guo Qian's brow furrowed instantly, as if he'd just seen a fly.
"Liu Di, you actually dared to come?"
Guo Qian casually sat on a sofa opposite Liu Di. "Times have really changed. Now anyone thinks they can do real estate, anyone thinks they can take a shot at that land?"
Liu Di smiled faintly. "Our goals are different. This is just fair competition."
"Fair?" Guo Qian gritted his teeth. "You dare talk to me about fairness? In university, you were the star, everyone revolved around you. Who remembered us, the second and third place?"
"Even my goddess, Situ Yan, didn't escape your grasp and became your girlfriend!"
Situ Yan? It had been a while since Liu Di had heard that name. She was his girlfriend back in university. They had been close, but three years ago, when Liu Di injured his eyes and his future seemed uncertain, he chose to break up with her unilaterally.
Recently, Liu Di had asked Sun Lili for Situ Yan's WeChat, but he hadn't added her. After all these years, Liu Di had long since lost any feelings for Situ Yan. The only reason he wanted her WeChat was to apologize for the sudden breakup back then, which he felt was unfair to her.
"Ah..." Liu Di sighed lightly and said with a sense of relief, "So it's all out of jealousy. Knowing the reason makes it easier to accept."
"Easier?" Guo Qian's expression turned strange, and he whispered, "Let me tell you something! Situ Yan is my girlfriend now! And it was her mother who insisted I accept her!"
"Do you know why?"
"Because I'm rich and you're poor!"
Liu Di smiled calmly. "So, in that case, you should call me 'senior.'"
"You..." Guo Qian's face turned purple with rage. "Don't you dare get smug with me! I'll tell you, you'll lose everything you once had, and you won't get that land today either!"
"Let me tell you, that rundown tech pavilion is worth at most 40 or 50 million, but today, I've prepared 100 million!"
"Let's see how you can compete with me!"
"The dean called me here today to sell me that land. You're just a foil!"
