The Outing of Teela

Our little group of taekwondo newbies grew by leaps and bounds. Drake, Davon, CK, and Sampson joined. We made up two lines now. The beginners were in the front. The super-dupers, who had more skills than the average special forces soldier, made up the second row.

After the warmup, we sat back for another exhibition match. Sampson and Jake paired up, with the winner set to go against Min.

Davon and Drake watched their stepdad slack-jaw as if they'd never seen him show his full abilities before. I envied their wonder and the fact that they got to live and learn from this man for the rest of their lives.

King joined us.

"Is it okay for me to be here?" King asked me.

"Sure. Why not?" I said, but I couldn't say it while looking him in the eye.

Everyone followed my lead and welcomed King.

Jake won the first match, but Min dominated in the second.
