Chapter 3: Beidou

Boom!

Bai Luo, who was lying on his bed, busy reviewing the Inazuma storyline inside his mind, trying to see if there is something that he can take advantage of with his knowledge, was startled by a sudden vibration.

From the rumbling sound outside, and the tremor that he felt underneath him, it seemed that they were under attack?

But who would dare to attack a ship with the Fatui's Brigade insignia on the entire Teyvat Continent?

"Lord Ausbilder, we're being attacked by pirates! The Mirror Maiden is temporarily blocking the cannonballs with her water mirror. Should we retaliate?" A Fatui's Brigade member with a small braid knocked on Bai Luo's door, asking anxiously.

Having roamed freely on the continent, the Fatui's Brigade had never encountered anyone who dared to confront them head-on, so they momentarily panicked and were left unsure of what to do.

"Strike back!" Bai Luo picked up the white mask hanging at his waist and covered his face with it. After leaving the cabin, he looked towards the large ship several times bigger than their sailboat.

'Eh, the Death Omen? And that girl, isn't that Beidou?'

Upon seeing the large ship, Bai Luo immediately recognized its identity and the girl who was on it, after all, in his previous world, he had spent countless hours in that ship.

Originally, he wondered what kind of madman had the audacity to attack the boat of a Fatui, but if the attacker was Beidou, he wasn't surprised at all.

That's just something she would do.

Looking at the woman leaping high with the Blackcliff Slasher in her hand, Bai Luo swiftly threw his dagger.

[Skill: Black

Throw a dagger towards the target, causing a highly penetrative normal attack upon impact. It can penetrate multiple units (this skill is considered a projectile and can be blocked by special abilities), and it can critically strike.

The first three hits on targets increase self-critical rate by 10% until a critical strike is triggered, lasting 8 seconds. Stacks up to 5 layers. ]

"Hmm?"

Beidou noticed that the Fatui's Brigade ship was protected by some kind of elemental technique and leaped towards them with the Blackcliff Slasher.

She intended to use her elemental power to break the water mirror and sink the Fatui's Brigade ship, then fish out a few of the fatui lackeys and maybe get some clues about what they are planning to do.

But she sensed that there was a masked man in a windbreaker who appeared on the deck.

His mask was different from the masks worn by other Fatui's Brigade members; on the white mask that covered his entire face, a faint purple lightning-like symbol could be seen.

The symbol was located around his right eye and seemed to emit a certain glow, and below his eyes, there was a red pattern that stretched across the entire mask.

The edges of the pattern slightly curled upward, resembling a mocking smile.

This smile gave off an ominous feeling, it seemed as though it was using not paint, but human blood.

When Beidou noticed him, she focused part of her attention on him, so naturally, she also saw his raising hand, and as soon as she noticed the dagger flying towards her through the shattered water mirror, she responded immediately.

Clang!

The dagger collided with the Blackcliff Slasher, creating dazzling sparks and electric light, Beidou herself also retreated and landed on the Death Omen.

Splash!

After landing on the Death Omen, the entire ship sank lower, creating several waves in the previously calm sea.

'Such power!'

Looking at the dagger that was spinning and flying back to its owner in mid-air, Beidou's eyes were filled with astonishment. She slowly opened her right hand, and saw that her blood oozed from her palm.

As she watched her wounded palm, faint electric sparks danced in her palm. Although her Vision was of the Electro element, this electric light was not emitted by her.

The reason she was pushed back was because the electric light paralyzed her, rendering her unable to move. She would have never thought that the Fatui Brigade ship had such a powerful person on board.

This Fatui's Brigade member…

...Who exactly is this person?

"Can we have a talk with the one in charge?" Beidou, with the Blackcliff Slasher resting on her shoulder, stepped onto the side of the ship and attempted to communicate with the other party.

If The Crux were present, she wouldn't mind taking this big fish down. But with only the Death Omen who have no skilled fighters backing her, she didn't dare to rashly engage in a battle.

"Why did you attack us?" The Fatui's Brigade member wearing the white mask, someone whom she assumed was the leader of this boat, put away his dagger and responded to her.

"Sorry, sorry. I didn't notice you were friends from the Fatui's Brigade at first. I thought you were wandering ronins from Inazuma. Let me offer you an apology for the misunderstanding," Beidou laughed heartily and signaled to the person next to her.

That person was a sharp person, and quickly brought over a barrel of fine wine after noticing her signal.

Beidou lifted the barrel with one hand and threw it towards the Fatui's Brigade ship. The woman dressed as the Mirror Maiden next to the man waved her hand, causing a wave to rise on the sea's surface. The wave carried the barrel, gently landing it near the masked man.

"This is Mondstadt's finest Dandelion Wine, as compensation for you."

Wine from Mondstadt and dishes from Liyue, these were well-known specialties on the Teyvat Continent. Especially Mondstadt's Dandelion Wine, it was considered a valuable currency in many places. At sea, a barrel of Dandelion Wine could resolve grudges.

"Is offending the Fatui's Brigade something you think can be settled with a barrel of Dandelion Wine?" The masked man stood atop the barrel of wine, his tone was calm.

Coupled with his mask, it was impossible to discern his thoughts.

After he finished speaking, the woman beside him changed her hand gesture again, and the mirror covering the entire ship began to rotate. The glittering ice shards under the sunlight were now aimed at the Death Omen.

"The Crux has a good relationship with the Fatui's Brigade's Childe. For his sake, let's put this matter behind us."

Although Beidou said this, she secretly gestured to her subordinates.

If the situation turned bad, she would take the initiative to attack.

Negotiating with the other party was mainly to gather intelligence, but if they wanted trouble, she wouldn't back down. As the leader of The Crux, she was more than just a strong fighter.

"Childe..."

Seeing the masked man's reaction to the mention of Childe, Beidou finally breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as bringing the name of Childe could handle the situation.

Even though she wasn't familiar with the Harbinger Childe, it didn't stop her from using his name to deceive others.

"Do you know who I am?" The uniquely shaped dagger flipped in the masked man's hand, his tone teasing.

"Do you know him?" Beidou glanced at the masked man once again and turned back to the person behind her, asking.

Drifting on the sea didn't mean their information flow was blocked. For example, they were well aware that the Fatui's Brigade's 11th Harbinger had recently arrived in Liyue.

But this masked man... they truly didn't recognize him.

"In Snezhnaya, they call me Ausbilder, one of the Fatui's Brigade's 12th Harbinger, Ausbilder."

"...," Beidou fell silent upon hearing his title.

She initially thought she had caught a small fish, but it turned out to be a big one, no, rather than a big fish, she had caught a shark instead.

The Fatui's Brigade Harbinger represented the highest combat power of the Fatui's Brigade.

No wonder a single casual strike from this man had such tremendous power.

It seemed that it wouldn't be easy for her fleet to escape this time…
