Chapter 3: The Transcendent World

There stood a man at least six-foot-three, clad in grey metal armor, yet moving as swiftly as the wind, wielding a Dual-Handed Greatsword wider than the palm of a hand, bringing it down fiercely, striking a standing rectangular stone block with force.

"Whoosh!"

A silver arc flashed by.

"Crack!"

The upper half of the stone block sheared off at an angle, heavily falling to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

The freshly cut surface of the stone was angled and smooth, without a single burr.

Instantly, the rich second-generations burst into applause.

"Incredible, Knight Instructor Perez is really something!"

"Wow! Is this the strength of an Official Knight? I can't even imagine when I'll reach this level."

"....."

Rein rubbed his eyes in disbelief as he watched the scene unfold.

"A thick stone block, just about liftable by one person, chopped in half with a single sword strike??"

"Is this really something a human could do??"

If before, his memories of the Extraordinary and the unknown were just based on hearsay from Wandering Bards and mercenaries, now, this scene was happening right before Rein's eyes!

For a modern man, such visual impact was akin to witnessing Iron Man landing on his balcony; Rein was utterly gobsmacked!!

After being stunned for quite some time, Rein glanced at his transparent panel and realized it wasn't all that impressive anymore!

Even if he became a Blacksmith, he would still be just an ordinary person....

This world was truly an Extraordinary World!

Those wealthy second-generations weren't bragging!

Everything heard through the grapevine in the original memories was true!

"No way!"

"Since I've come to this Extraordinary World, if ever there's a chance to become Transcendent, I must try with all my might!"

"Otherwise, what difference would there be between me and a salted fish!"

In the midst of his shock, Rein firmly made up his mind!

At that moment, there was a change in the center of the training ground.

It appeared that among the rich heirs, a noble girl dressed in hunting attire stepped forward to propose a swordsmanship duel with the burly Swordsman Instructor Perez, who was armored head to toe.

From Rein's angle, he couldn't see the girl's face, but just from her profile, he could tell that the noble girl was likely very beautiful, with a tight, compact figure, reminiscent of a leopardess ready to pounce.

As expected, Swordsman Instructor Perez agreed, and the two quickly crossed swords.

"Clang!!"

Sparks flew!

At the opening, the shapely noble girl, holding a Dual-Handed Greatsword, went for a Leap Slash, clashing head-on against Swordsman Instructor Perez's greatsword with a hard metallic sound.

This strike hit Rein right in the heart.

If Perez's earlier stone-cutting feat could have been attributed to some degree of rare talent, the collision just now, with its sparks effectively proved the mighty strength of both combatants.

A noble girl possessing such immense strength was clear evidence that this world was undoubtedly an Extraordinary World!

Rein could think of no other reasonable explanation.

"Ting ting clang clang!!"

Although the noble girl was holding a heavy metal greatsword, her speed was incredibly fast, her movements like a gazelle, lightly touching the ground and swiftly changing positions, constantly attacking Swordsman Instructor Perez from all sorts of difficult angles.

Her chestnut ponytail bobbed behind her with each leap.

And Swordsman Instructor Perez stood like a rock in the ocean, firmly rooted, not initiating any counterattack, but steadily blocking the noble girl's assaults.

"Smooth Cleaving Slash!!"

The noble girl let out a delicate rebuke and then leaped into the air, soaring several meters. Her lively figure suddenly tensed in midair, like a bowstring drawn to its limit, filled with explosive power.

In the blink of an eye, the girl swung the at least one-and-a-half-meter long, broad two-handed sword in her hands, drawing a half-moon arc. With a forty-five degree downward chopping angle, she ferociously slammed down towards swordsman instructor Perez!

"Clang!!"

A grating metallic friction noise that could make one's teeth sour rang out!

Even though Rein and the other servant boys were at least twenty to thirty meters away from them, their ears ached and their teeth tingled from the sound of the collision.

In front of them, many of the true second-generation heirs couldn't withstand it and scrunched their brows, covering their ears. Only four or five people remained unfazed, watching the sparring without changing their expressions.

Suddenly, a tiny gray flash sprang from the point where the swords clashed, spraying onto the ground about a meter in front of Rein.

Because it landed close to Rein, he could clearly see that the gray flash seemed to be a small metal shard, likely from a notch in the two-handed greatsword of either swordsman instructor Perez or the noble girl.

At that moment, both swordsman instructor Perez and the noble girl almost simultaneously looked towards Rein.

In an instant, Rein felt his heart hang suspended, with the sensation of being watched by a fierce beast, his body hair standing on end!

This oppressive feeling...

However, after a casual glance, they both turned away, no longer paying attention to the shard as if they were just checking to see if it had injured anyone.

And with that noble girl's turn of her head, Rein finally got a clear view of her appearance.

Four words, a heroic bearing!

An oval face with somewhat thick eyebrows that gave an air of vigor, a pair of brown-gray eyes brimming with radiance and wearing a form-fitting hunter's garb that made her seem agile and fit.

She was strikingly similar to Cristiana Yeri, a foreign actress from Rein's past life, particularly when she was younger.

Swordsman instructor Perez looked at his Dual-Handed Greatsword and upon seeing the irregular triangular notch, couldn't help but feel a slight pang in his heart. The sword had been with him for many years, and he had not expected...

"Instructor Perez! I'm terribly sorry, I got a bit too carried away just now and didn't hold back. Your greatsword might need some repairs, I will speak to Master Verintan about it."

The astute noble girl immediately spoke up, noticing instructor Perez's slightly furrowed brows.

...

After the brief interruption in their sparring, the true second-generation heirs began to learn some advanced swordsmanship under the guidance of swordsman instructor Perez.

Off to the side, Rein kept his head down, staring blankly at the small iron shard embedded in the ground.

After a long while, he realized that no one was coming to retrieve the small iron shard, so he reached out and dug it out.

The first feeling was of heaviness!

The tiny shard, weighty in his grasp, had a certain heft to it. The material was clearly not bronze and didn't seem to be ordinary steel either.

With it, Rein could roughly estimate the weight of the opponent's greatsword, which was over one and a half meters long.

Swinging around a seventy or eighty-pound weapon?

This was several times the weight of a cold weapon from his former life! Rein realized instantly.

The burly swordsman instructor Perez could swing it, which was somewhat explainable, but how could the slender noble girl manage it? What was going on?

Was it achieved through some Secret Skill or postnatal training?

Or was it due to her bloodline, an innate talent?

"If it's the former, then I might have a shot!" Rein thought to himself.

Not having learned any swordsmanship, too old to embark on the path to transcendence?

"It seems quite reasonable... but that's for ordinary people!"

"I'm different!"

"If the system can trigger the Ironsmith Apprentice profession panel, then it should also be able to activate a combat profession panel, right?!"

"I heard that the servant training content will include learning basic swordsmanship?"

"I wonder if it will trigger the Swordsman panel or the Warrior panel then?"

Rein's eyes slowly began to glimmer with excitement!!
