Chapter 402: Roast Goose

When the little boy came out, his expression was different from the first time; he seemed sensitive to something, a heaviness that did not match his age hanging on his face. Suddenly unable to hold onto the dog, he let go, and the dog didn't immediately run away. Instead, it rubbed against the boy's legs like a little cat. When the boy was seated, the dog leaned its back fur against his legs, sat down in front of him, disdainfully squinted at the godwoman opposite them, and then lay down to sleep.

The little boy studied the godwoman with a puzzled expression as she smiled back at him, a smile full of kindness that made him uncomfortable. Thus, the boy lowered his head, occasionally sneaking glances at her. Realizing it might seem impolite to smile so meekly, he then forced a slight smile at the godwoman in response.
