The house of Zhu's family in Lu Wu Township was considered relatively new, having been chosen and built a year or two before he was born. The original old house had already been converted into a grain storehouse. Zhu's family was well-off, having built a two-story house. The middle of the first floor was the main hall, where the statues of gods from all directions were enshrined. Lin Suqing saw this but didn't tell Zhu; even the gods themselves seemed to neglect Lu Wu Township. In Lu Wu Township, enshrining gods was far less common than enshrining wild immortals. The kitchen was on the far left, Lin Suqing glanced at it and noted that the kitchen was quite spacious. On the right side of the hall was a firewood room, where the big yellow dog's straw mat and food bowl were located at the entrance. On the farthest right side, there seemed to be a cowshed; though no mooing was heard, a faint smell could be detected.
