Wang Dahai glanced at the time; it was past four o'clock.
He grabbed the quilt and covered his head, hugging Zhou Qian in his arms like an octopus.
Zhou Qian was so exhausted she didn't have an ounce of strength left in her.
She closed her eyes, overcome by drowsiness, and gradually fell asleep.
When she woke up,
Wang Dahai picked up his phone and saw it was already past ten.
He looked down to see Zhou Qian was still sleeping.
He slowly let her go and got out of bed to get dressed.
By the time he had put on his clothes, he saw that Zhou Qian had woken up and was lying in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
"Want to go eat something?"
Zhou Qian didn't respond, as if she hadn't heard.
His warmth was met with cold indifference, but Wang Dahai didn't care and just left.
Ten minutes later, while Zhou Qian was getting dressed, she heard the sound of a card swipe.
Wang Dahai walked in, carrying takeout food.
He placed the food on the table, said nothing, and turned to leave.
