Chapter-3: Rebirth Of The Villain

"To put it simply, after death, the souls will gather here in the celestial space before they are sent to heaven or hell. Reincarnation and transmigrations are special cases who had long life expectancy and pure souls, those are picked up by higher level Gods/Goddesses and sent to the destined worlds to live their lives."

"So you are telling me, I am one of the special cases?" Xiao Bo queried.

"Yes, you are a special case as you died of cancer when in fact you still had a lot of time till your death but the higher-ups didn't want to cause your pure soul much pain so they decided to end your sufferings and give you a new life where you can live a happy fulfilling life. And they decided to transmigrate you to another world which you are familiar with so that you could live however you want."

"A happy and fulfilling life? After seeing how I had died, you are telling me, the Gods transmigrated me to that world to live happily? Are you kidding me now, Goddess?" Xiao Bo was getting angry.

"That's what I need to explain. For the transmigration and reincarnation process, there are two lines, one for highly pure souls- the memory line, in which the soul remembers the memories of their past life, and by that, they can easily manipulate and change the world they go and live a happy life while the other line is - no memory line, for low-level pure souls, they couldn't remember their past life so they just live in the other world with the fate of the person they reincarnated into."

"So, you are telling me..." Xiao Bo looked at Mia.

"Yes, Mia had to guide you through the memory line where the memories of your past life will be intact but she sent you to the other world through the no memories line which made you follow the path of the Villain and die just like how the Villain died," Valeria elucidated again.

Xiao Bo's eyes enlarged in shock. He was left speechless.

"You asked me earlier if you deserve such a horrendous death, didn't you? No, you didn't but because of her mistake you didn't have the memories of your past life which would have helped you in taking important decisions at crucial moments that would have changed the trajectory of your life path."

Valeria expressed with a regretful expression.

He teared up hearing it.

"You are telling me I had to go through all that hell all my life and had to die in such a brutal and painful way at the hands of the one I loved just because of a silly mistake made by some inexperienced angel?"

Valeria glared at Mia who looked down.

"I am sorry, very sorry, it's all my fault," she bowed continuously.

Valeria extended her hand and placed it on top of Xiao Bo's palm.

"Xiao Xiao, I shouldn't have trusted such an important matter with an intern angel. It was very irresponsible of me and I regret and feel remorseful for it every second."

Xiao Bo teared up more.

"If you felt regret then why didn't you help me? Why didn't you save me from that hell?"

Valeria squeezed his hand.

"Cause I am just a Goddess of souls, my role is to properly transfer the souls to the other worlds for their reincarnations. I can't meddle in the lives of the people. If I had the authority to save you, I would have done it no matter what the consequence was cause Xiao Xiao, my child you were the purest soul I have ever witnessed in a billion years that didn't get the love you deserved rightfully in any world."

"Why do you transmigrate me into that novel as a Villain then?" Xiao Bo questioned suddenly.

Valeria sighed outwardly.

"Cause reincarnations are only possible if they are your soul's doppelganger and you are the counterpart of Xiao Bo. The previous Xiao Bo was so broken after he died just like you that he didn't want to travel back and change the ending and to protect that world we had to bring you who has the same spirituality as Xiao Bo's soul so that you can change the ending and live a happy life here while the other Xiao Bo would have taken your place in your world and lived happily without cancer but..."

"But, because of the mistake..." Xiao Bo looked at the intern angel.

"Yes, because of the mistake, Xiao Bo went through the line with memories and was traumatized to live again. His soul was broken after he died. And you followed the path of the Villain and died tragically when you both would have lived happily in each other's worlds if the mistake hadn't happened."

The Goddess of Souls had a sad face.

"No matter how many times I apologize, I know it doesn't lessen the pain you have gone through. But..."

"But?"

Xiao Bo looked at the Goddess with curious eyes.

"But your soul wasn't broken and you can still reincarnate. So, if you want to, you can live your life again and change your destiny to the one filled with happiness cause Xiao Xiao you deserve to be happier than anyone."

The Goddess tried to urge him.

"What if I don't want to?" Xiao Bo asked with a straight face.

"The world will collapse and everyone in there will cease to exist," Valeria answered with all seriousness.

"What?" Xiao Bo was shocked.

To think if he refused to live his life again, his Wei Dage and Wang Mu Chen would die and every person who had nothing to do with the novel's plot would also die.

He couldn't imagine that. No matter how much he hated life he couldn't bear to see everyone disappearing like they never existed just because of him.

"Yes, cause that world is already in a mess as it repeated the events continuously until the breaking point without any change. If it continues one more time the world will be destroyed and now that world's destiny depends upon your decision," The Goddess explained.

"What if... I failed to change the plot?" Xiao Bo asked getting nervous.

"It's not possible Xiao Xiao, 'cause you know what will happen next and you can choose not to go down the path you already did, isn't it? And you don't have to do anything big just small changes like getting a good friend or a brother is enough," The Goddess clarified.

"Wait, how is my Wei Dage? Now that the Song family has no reputation and power in the city it must be tough for Wei Dage," Xiao Bo looked concerned.

Valeria looked a little stunned hearing the question from Xiao Bo.

"Xiao Xiao, Wei Chen had died."

Xiao Bo was shocked.

"What? How? When?"

The Goddess sighed and snapped her fingers, in an instant a screen appeared in front of them and it showed Song Wei Chen, from four days back who was eavesdropping on his father's phone call.

"Ah, Xiao Bo? I sold that son of a bitch to the bordello for good money. Now I have enough money to start everything. To think he would become useful in this way, I did well by not killing him after knowing that he got pregnant," Song Yi Ming replied

Wei Chen's eyes widened in shock when he heard that he immediately ran out of the apartment they were living in and started his car.

He went to almost all the Bordello's in S City in search of his little brother. He was almost on the verge of tears as he couldn't find him no matter where he went.

He searched for Xiao Bo like a madman without eating food or drinking water. At night, he was on the streets still searching in every brothel in the city.

Finally, when he reached the brothel that Xiao Bo was in he saw Wang Mu Chen slapping his brother and kidnapping him.

Song Wei Chen ran towards the car to stop it and was hit by a truck. He was thrown into the air due to the impact and his head clashed to the ground.

There was blood everywhere, Wei Chen was still looking at the car with his hand extended towards it, he mumbled, "Bobo..." and died on the spot due to heavy blood loss.

"Wei Dage!"

Xiao Bo stood up from his seat and was in tears seeing his big brother covered in blood.

He covered his mouth with his palms and muffled his sobs as he fell to his knees.

"Dage...died *hic* because he *hic* wanted to save me," Xiao Bo cried harder and added.

"I know it, *hic* Wei Dage loves me, *hic* he only acted as he hated me in front of father *hic* and cared for me in his heart."

"Yes, that poor child loved you as his little brother. He worried for you but couldn't show it openly because of his scum father. He had to stay cold and stony to protect himself and you from others. That child also doesn't deserve to die like that so, Xiao Xiao, what do you think? You still don't want to live your life again? If you did you could spend time with your brother without any misunderstandings and could change his destiny,"

The Goddess questioned him with eyes full of hope but Xiao Bo didn't reply as he was in deep thought.

"You have another choice too, you can live as Xiao Bo, the cancer patient as in your past life but you can't change your destiny and will die young as you did in your past life living in the hospital and going through the painful treatment," Valeria, the Goddess informed.

"No, I don't want to be a cancer patient again. I want to change mine and Wei Dage's life, because of me he died."

Xiao Bo looked up at the Goddess with glossy eyes.

"Good choice, Xiao Xiao. This time you will be regressed ten years in time, just before the start of the novel's plot. Remember just a little change can lead you to a different destiny and I assure you this time you won't live and die in pain, my child," the Goddess reassured.

Song Xiao Bo nodded his head and looked at the intern angel who was still downcasting,

"Ms. Mia, I don't have a big heart to accept your apology cause your mistake made me go through hell. But I hope you take this as a lesson and will try to be more careful when you guide other souls so that they won't live in pain like I did."

Mia looked up with tears, "Yes, I will make sure such mistakes never happen and I am sorry from the bottom of my heart. I hope you live a healthy and happy life this time."

Xiao Bo hummed and smiled at her. Valeria smiled like a proud mother hearing Xiao Bo, she kneeled in front of him and stroked his hair gently.

"Xiao Xiao, you must live a happy life this time, got it?" Valeria asked and he nodded.

She lifted her hand and gave Xiao Bo a flick on his forehead. His soul sparkled and vanished in seconds.

"Xiao Xiao, goodbye."

Valeria, the Goddess of souls smiled with contentment as she knew this time her child would have a very fulfilling and happy life and she would make sure of it even if she had to go and fight with higher-ups.

"And you, go do your punishment and go back to work. If such a mistake happens again, I will destroy your soul for good," Valeria showed Mia a stern expression.

Mia bowed, "Yes, Your Holiness. Thank you for sparing me this time, I will work hard and never let you down again." And ran out of the office.

Valeria looked into the space, "I have done my part, hope you did too."
