Chapter-23: Want To Be A Patissier!

Song Xiao Bo's eyes were opened suddenly as his body jerked upwards.

He gasped for air as his tears continued to stream through his cheeks and he couldn't stop shivering seeing Mu Chen in front of him.

"Xiao-Er!"

Shen Yu got anxious as the smaller didn't seem to be fully awake from his dreadful dream.

"Xiao Xiao! What's happening to you?"

Xin Yi's voice was also filled with concern.

Xiao Bo looked left and right at his friends' worried faces and then seeing he was sitting in the car he confirmed that he was not in the basement but to be sure again he looked at his intact legs.

"S-Shen Yu... Xin Yi..."

He called and his voice was also normal, his tongue wasn't cut off.

"Xiao-Er!"

Shen Yu immediately embraced him tightly while Xin Yi rubbed circles on the smaller's back to comfort him.

Mu Chen clenched his fists as he couldn't see the smaller in such a state.

It was like that too in the morning when Xiao Bo cried in his sleep, experiencing a nightmare.

After some time, they were sitting on a bench beside the road trying to soothe Xiao Bo.

Mu Chen went to buy a bottle of water and he saw some candies in the shop.

He bought them too. Xiao Bo calmed down a little.

He was sniffling while Xin Yi and Shen Yu were sitting beside holding him.

"Here, drink some water."

Mu Chen handed the bottle to the smaller after taking off its cap.

Xiao Bo slowly looked up. Seeing Wang Mu Chen in front of him, his expression became complicated.

Cause in his past life, the elder never even looked at him properly... let alone cared for him.

But Wang Mu Chen in this life was the total opposite of his past life.

He was looking at him, caring for him, and even wanting to marry him to help him out...

Nonetheless, Xiao Bo didn't want to build castles in the air.

No matter how Mu Chen was now, he didn't want to get associated with him to avoid the dreadful path of his past life.

Now he was not in a situation to do that and they had already spread the news throughout the country, which meant his father was also aware of it.

If he now denied what Mu Chen said about them, then it would cause an uproar and even the elder might get offended by it as he was just trying to help him out.

He couldn't afford to affront Mu Chen, the powerful young master of Wang's.

While he was speculating about how to turn down the elder's offer without upsetting him, he drank the water.

"Here, eat this. You will feel better."

Mu Chen passed him the candies he bought.

Song Xiao Bo's eyes sparkled as soon as he saw them, forgetting about everything he was thinking just a second before.

He took the candies, unwrapped one of them, and had it.

His whole face brightened up as soon as the sweet and pungent taste of the strawberry-flavored candy touched his tongue.

He sucked on it and let it dissolve in his tastebuds slowly enjoying the candy which left a tingling after-taste in his mouth.

Mu Chen, Xin Yi, and Shen Yu heaved as they saw the smaller enjoying eating the candy and forgetting about what made him get scared out of his wits while he was sleeping.

But Mu Chen's mind was still roaming around when the smaller called Gege with so much pain in his voice and asked him to kill him.

>>>Why would he want me to kill him?

Mu Chen didn't have an answer to that question. He wanted Xiao Bo to get comfortable with him share his worries and smile at him like the smaller does with the other two.

Yet, when it came to him, all Mu Chen saw was a trembling and scared Xiao Bo who wouldn't even talk with him without stuttering or fearing him.

Yes, he did have a prejudice against Xiao Bo, just like the others did.

He thought the Young master of the Song family was a notorious playboy and would cause problems everywhere he went.

That was why he was a little worried about his childhood friend Xin Yi when he got to know that Xiao Bo was his roommate.

On the night he took them to the dinner outside the University he was rude to him cause he didn't like the smaller due to preconceptions he had about him.

However, when the smaller vomited out the food and begged them to not hate him while quivering in fear, he felt sharp pangs in his heart.

He couldn't see Xiao Bo in that state.

When he carried him to the hospital, he felt complex emotions as Xiao Bo didn't weigh at all.

After that, when Xin Yi said that the smaller was abused by his Father he felt suffocated due to the guilt.

He was never a person to judge people without knowing them, yet he did that with the smaller.

Seeing him crying in his sleep while having a nightmare, he experienced helplessness for the first time in his life.

When Xiao Bo woke up from the bad dream, he didn't find reassurance in seeing Mu Chen in front of him rather, he was frightened.

Which made Mu Chen's guilt increase further.

Seeing Xiao Bo smiling at his friend Yi Xuan he became jealous cause the smaller never smiled at him even once.

He got angry at himself for leaving such a dreadful impression on the smaller, which made him scurry away from him.

Then he thought he should remove the scary image from Xiao Bo's head and to do that he had to become close with him.

That was why he intentionally kept the medications with him so that with the reason of feeding him the medicines he could visit Xiao Bo and talk with him gradually making their relationship comfortable.

It was his plan but when he misunderstood Xiao Bo again as soon as he heard the smaller and what he went through because of his greedy father was the last straw.

He couldn't believe that he was so quick to judge the smaller once again and he couldn't understand himself why he was doing that cause he was never a person like that but when it came to Xiao Bo he was losing all his reasonings.

At that time the pain that squeezed his heart made him realize that Xiao Bo meant something to him.

The desperation he was feeling to hug the smaller and tell him that as long as he was alive no one would lay a finger on him... but,

Xiao Bo would never embrace him cause in the smaller's eyes somehow he became a scary person with whom he would never want to associate.

He wanted to change it and that was why he barged into the office and announced that Xiao Bo was his Fiance, fully knowing that they were being filmed by some girls.

Call him cunning but he didn't want to lose the smaller. He wanted to become a reliable person for Xiao Bo no matter what.

He didn't have any clue about what he was feeling for the smaller at the moment but all he knew was he didn't want to see Xiao Bo in tears again and even if the smaller cried it should be in his arms.

Wang Mu Chen sighed,

Shen Yu ruffled Xiao Bo's hair,

"Do you like it?"

Xiao Bo nodded a little with twinkling eyes which made the other three coo at him.

"I... have decided!"

Xiao Bo spoke suddenly gaining the attention of three of them.

"What?" Xin Yi asked with a smile.

"I want to become a patissier and make lots of candies," Xiao Bo's voice was cheerful.

The three of them couldn't help but uwu at the adorable Xiao Bo and his little actions.

"You like the candy so much that you want to become a pastry chef?"

Mu Chen's lips curled upwards.

Xiao Bo just nodded, "I never had a dream...but whenever I eat candy it would make me feel happy and forget every bad thing. If I make sweet things and let everyone eat them won't they also become happy just like me?"

"Aww, Xiao-Er! This world doesn't deserve you, Bun."

Shen Yu hugged the smaller feeling emotional.

"I don't like sweets but if it's Xiao Xiao who is making them then I would eat everything you make."

Xin Yi commented brushing the smaller's hair.

"Me too."

Mu Chen kneeled in front of him took Xiao Bo's hand in his, and looked at the smaller with adoration.

Xiao Bo blinked his eyes continuously and cleared his throat getting flustered by the elder's sudden action.

Just when Mu Chen was about to say something Xiao Bo's phone started ringing so he quickly shook off the elder's hands and answered the call,

"Hello, Dage?"

"Xiao Xiao, where are you? I am at your dorm but your room is locked," Wei Chen asked with a worried voice from the other line.

"Ah...I am outside Dage with my friends, I will be there in..." He looked at Xin Yi who showed him his ten fingers, "...in ten minutes."

"Wait, then don't come stay where you are. The entrance of the University was swarmed by the reporters. They won't let you breathe with their questions. Tell me where you are, and I will come to you," Wei Chen suggested.

Shen Yu took the phone informed him about their location and hung the call.

"Let's wait in that comic store till your brother comes here," Mu Chen suggested and the four of them went inside it.
