Robbin watched as he was traded to the people in front of him.
He knew where he was, Slab, a community in the desert.
A place no one cared to manage, inhabited by only 150 people.
Originally a military training base, this place was abandoned after the end of the war.
Although abandoned, people still came here.
The uniqueness of this place attracted various individuals—homeless at the end of their rope, struggling artists, hippies, etc. They set up tents here, built makeshift houses, and used the ruins and debris to transform their habitat.
If a crime occurred here, no one would alert the police; they would resolve it themselves.
Of course, there were addicts. It seemed addicts were everywhere in the United States, but that was only if you had the means to secure your fix.
Therefore, being traded away in this place made perfect sense.
