He understood the remark. Li Hu looked at Bai Lei, then glanced at an apparently embarrassed Bai Ling. He wasn't foolish, and he quickly grasped what was meant.
However, Li Hu wasn't angry. He chuckled foolishly and stood up, saying, "So Bai Ling was just testing me. I thought you really wanted to kill someone just now; you scared me to death, I almost wet my pants."
He looked genuinely relieved, clearly having been quite scared just moments before.
"If you were so afraid, why did you remain so courageous?" Xiao Han asked, a bit surprised.
"Because she's my woman, I obviously have to protect her," Li Hu said without hesitation.
Bai Lei laughed. This was a man's sense of responsibility: a man with such a sense was worth entrusting one's faith in.
He knew in his heart that his daughter had indeed found a good man.
