The top 10 disciples stood in a straight line on the stairs. The Elders gazed at the youths whose eyes were full of excitement and expectation. Each had high hopes for their pupils. The Clan Master smiled and nodded her head in approval at Mia. Mr. He was calm as he looked at Johan and Bobby. The other three, Master Lugo, Granny Lee, and Aiden, had looks of encouragement for their disciples too. Bobby had the distinct impression that this competition was actually a battle between the Elders.


Trey looked at Bobby with hostility. Ever since Bobby managed to get himself a mentor, he'd been waiting for the chance to show him up. The Floating Crest competition provided the perfect opportunity. It would be full of dangerous trials but rewards too.


The entrance to the Palace was through a large green door that shook as they made their way through. A bright light shone from the inside.


"Quick, get inside! The door will close automatically," one of the Elders warned.
