The Great Canopy Country had eight major factions that were almost as strong as a country on their own. There were also several families with rivaling strengths, such as the Flooded Lake Connor family. Unfortunately, such a large country still only had ten spots in the True Dragon Gathering.

Lord Tate's letter said Bobby had one month until the trials that would determine the ten competitors, so he still had some time. He wouldn't waste it worrying about the limited spots when he needed to train and cultivate. The participants had to be the best of the best; many had bloodlines or incredible skills. At that point, Bobby's strengths were in mental energy, speed, and close combat, thanks to the Astral Fan. The Flying Iris Shield was the perfect defense; all he needed was a powerful long-range weapon. Bobby greatly valued long-range weapons that could work in tandem with his eye in life-and-death battles. With an unfamiliar environment, a powerful long-range weapon was a necessity.
