Just A Nightmare

Enjoying a night full of memories that are imprinted in the heart.

Enjoying every second with his family while looking at the projection of this image displaying artifact.

Suddenly, the projection flickered, as if it was running out of energy.

"ah why is this..." asked Wu Liang while checking every side on the artifact, pressing and continuing to press repeatedly the button.

"It's broken, how is it...?" he asked, but who could answer him in this room.

Just as Wu Liang was about to go out with the artifact to consult his big brother Jin Fei, he realized that the moon was now bright and almost at its peak.

Wu Liang realized something, "this means we've been looking at this for a long time", while looking at the artifact in his right hand, then he went back in and told everything to his grandfather and elder sister.

"What happened, you came back so fast?" His grandfather was confused by his current situation, he didn't understand what happened at all.

Wu Liang just shook his head and said, "I don't know either, but certainly we have been staring at this scene for so long, otherwise how to explain how come the moon is now at the top, right... There is no other explanation other than that we have been unconsciously staring at this scene for so long, hoammhh...." He yawned, and little by little his body felt weak and unsteady, drowsiness began to envelop him.

His grandfather and elder sister suddenly felt the same way.

"Hohoho, we'd better ask them tomorrow" Ming Qi's grandfather said and went to bed first.

The same goes for Shan Yu.

Wu Liang just stood still while staring fixedly at his artifact, without any unnecessary thoughts he tried to direct his body to walk towards his bed, slowly he sat on the edge of his bed then lay down his body, fatigue immediately gnawed at him as soon as he closed his eyes.

One two three....

"Wu Liang?! Wu Liang?!.... Wake up, do you want to miss it?!...."

A faint ringing sound was caught by his ears, a bright blurry sight like a bright day dazzled all his eyes.

His eyelids that slowly opened stiffly were greeted by a constant gust of cold wind that swept across the entire place he was in.

Wu Liang tried to gather his consciousness, trying to fulfill all his energy to reach a certain point.

"Hi Fool, wake up if you don't want to be left behind...", Wu Liang felt an intense dizziness after hearing it clearly, this voice, this voice sounded familiar to him, but at the same time he had also forgotten it.

Suddenly a blurry gray shadow passed over his face while Wu Liang was still lying limp, his eyes that could only fixate on the bright blue sky suddenly startled and sent goosebumps down his spine.

The sensation of moist and warm soil with some small pebbles protruding, then the texture of bright green and dark green weed grass that became Wu Liang's natural mattress, with the fragrance of colorful wild flowers surrounding him.

Once again the voice appeared but sounded quieter than before.

"Hey wake up, are you just going to stay here?..." the voice whispered.

Wu Liang this time really gave up on what happened to him, is this reality? Or is this just a dream?, this feels very real to him, but every time he hears the whisper that occasionally sounds very close to his ears, he can even feel every exhale as the words come out from there.

While scrunching his face hard, even unconsciously swallowing his own face, Wu Liang was dizzy, very dizzy and intense, the back of his head was throbbing violently, while the front area of his head felt like he was hit with a rough piece of wood.0p

Wu Liang was about to speak a word but his mouth was tightly locked, as if being held back by something, Wu Liang could only grit his teeth violently and angrily, resentment starting to peak and boiling his heart.

The veins on his neck protruded, his eyes bulged fiercely, even his body stiffened extremely hard, but out of it all he still could not even speak a word, suddenly a strong wind came while carrying black clouds of clouds that simultaneously brought down stormy wind rain.

The black cloud had a silhouette that was familiar to him, but also very unfamiliar, an image of a little boy's face, his expression was flat but on the other hand Wu Liang felt really very very fam. iliar with it.

Wu Liang's heart now seemed to be pierced by a very cold ice blade, and sure enough, Wu Liang felt a cold sensation stabbing at his heart, he glanced at his eyes with difficulty and saw the tip of the peak of the ice blade piercing him.

Although it was painful and cold, but it did not match Wu Liang's expectation of actual pain, "how can it be there" he said, but strangely there was no blood coming from it or coming out of the puncture hole.

He was very helpless now.

Once again he looked up at the black sky with the overcast clouds thundering angrily because of the lightning, the little boy's expression seemed to be laughing with his mouth that seemed to sneer and open towards Wu Liang.

Slowly changing from one expression to another, while following the flow of the sky, the clouds slowly passed by Wu Liang.

Wu Liang's breathing was getting slower and slower, every breath he took felt frozen and heavy, "is this the end?", he thought, Wu Liang's body and neck were oozing hot sweat as exactly that cold sensation continued to spread throughout his body mercilessly, the longer his eyesight initially improved, but returned to blurry slowly.

"What exactly is this..." suddenly from above Wu Liang's head appeared the silhouette of a small child, his face did not appear so clearly due to the constraints of Wu Liang's blurry eyes now, the shadow of the small child looked curious about Wu Liang, but Wu Liang himself was even familiar with him.

While panting Wu Liang was about to smile bitterly at him, but suddenly his body was slammed down, really slammed down.

It felt like he was being pulled hard, through the dirt and rocks, he was being pulled like he had no resistance, but the sensation of crashing was clearly very pronounced, "What is this exactly?..." Wu Liang irritably muttered to himself, how could he get out of here, even he didn't know if this was reality or just a dream.

The longer Wu Liang was pulled, the longer the pain intensified, his skin felt violently peeled off, his flesh felt shredded and crushed by rocks, Wu Liang continued to be pulled, the scene in front of his eyes this time was only dark, but he realized he was now in solid ground.

Suddenly his body fell back onto a bed of grass and flowers, Wu Liang was about to open his eyelids, and succeeded.

He succeeded and strangely his eyes could clearly see what was in front of him.

A spear was pointed at him.

It was not, but after Wu Liang tried to gather his strength he realized that it was just an ordinary stalagmite on the ceiling of the cave, but each stalagmite was dripping with cave seepage water.

The cave was very dark and had no lighting at all, but strangely Wu Liang could see every part and side of the surrounding cave after moving his neck in every direction he could reach.

Feeling better, Wu Liang tried to sit up and succeeded.

Wu Liang sat up while supporting his body with both hands, then he held his head while rubbing his eyes to make sure that he could really see properly, Wu Liang surrounded his surroundings with a spin of his head.

"What is this place..." he muttered.

Wu Liang unconsciously squeezed the moist and withered grass in his left hand.

Rising to his feet then about to head towards a cave wall that looked very different from the other cave walls, his mouth was about to utter words but once again it was impossible, for him who had tried to utter any words, but none of them Wu Liang could hear, felt strange... He thought maybe he was deaf, but he could clearly hear every single drop of water that fell onto the cave floor.

Wu Liang tried to grab the nearest end of the strange shape of the cave wall in front of him, and suddenly his eyes were hit by a severe hallucination, as the space in front of him distorted and merged to and fro creating a new shape, like the surface of a porridge being stirred and losing the shape of the early original image.

Wu Liang shook his head violently while rubbing his eyes.

And right after, the wall in front turned into a small shrine of sorts, inside the centermost and biggest hole Wu Liang could clearly see a box-carved statue in the darkness of this cave with no illumination at all.

The statue was in a seated position with its legs crossed, its face fierce with its two lower canines sticking up, as well as a skull necklace around its neck, its left hand tight and facing forward in front of its chest, then its right hand was holding a spear whose tip was a stone shaped short and pointed broad sword blade, and on the border between the blade and the wood, newly carved bird feathers or rather it looked like a cloth.

Wu Liang then squatted down and approached towards the statue without any fear at all, looking at it with a curious gaze full of question marks.

Wu Liang's hand also unconsciously automatically reached out and managed to touch the rough surface of the stone statue.

"HEI HEI!!! ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME YOUR LIFE?" The deep voice clearly came from the direction of the stone statue, but its mouth remained frozen.

Wu Liang was shocked to death by it, his breathing suddenly felt heavy, his body sat stiff and immobilized, hearing the statue repeating its words, each repetition made Wu Liang shudder violently, cold sweat poured out, this was a sensation of death that had never been thought of in his life.

Suddenly the statue threw the spear in its right hand and quickly approached Wu Liang's head mercilessly.

"D-don't..., DON'T!!!"

Shan Yu was startled by his brother's shout, she stopped shaking Wu Liang's body with his face crumpled from sleep, Shan Yu scrunched her eyes at Wu Liang, while he himself just got up to sit with cold sweat pouring out and a look of fear and wonder clearly depicted on Wu Liang's face.
