chapter three

 "some work of noble note,may yet be done"

these words kept running around my mind,as I walked on the lonely path home.it raised the undreamt problems about the existence of man on earth.from that moment I knew I had to leave behind something, but the question was , what is it that I have to give.

weeks later I returned to school, on meeting my friends I asked the question, instead of an answer I got them angry.

do you know you are stupid? Fred made a sentence that is an insult yet a compliment.

how am I stupid?I asked him.

listen to your self saying nonsense,a mad man asking for something .he said.

ok I'll repent I said, breaking the long silence.

see we cannot stop our plans because of a stupid story.chris added.

only because I said I will repent? can't you see.the life we live does not matter what really matters is the way we live it.i was trying to persuade them.

let us not make a fuss about it .Emeka said trying to calm the situation.

others left angrily leaving me and Emeka behind.

kel , you can't continue like this,do your thing and allow them do theirs.he adviced.

but they would ruin their lives.i said feeling concerned.

weeks later we became friends again, only this time not as close as before.a little after prep,we walked back to the dormitory .

Chris,I called . do you remember the principal made an announcement?

oh! I almost forgot, there is this Lola girl, from A class. Fred said.

Everyone agreed, including John and Timothy except me.

Emeka walked close.guy,if you no go , something nah happen it will pinned on you.he whispered.

When are we going,I follow suit.

Tomorrow night,at ####hotel, the one down the lake.there is a party, best part is,we can stay all night.fred added.

How do we live the school?

Listen, he said, first park all the clothes to ##$ corner of the school, that place is always safe,later in the night we will...he explained.

I could see their eyes lit up as if it were some sort of light during the dark night.i could only get one message sneaking out of school.unfortunately,I cannot reject the offer,I had no choice, just deal with, it i said to myself.

saturday night.

We dumped the clothes, as planned earlier ,we jumped over the fence. We are out finally, after much of struggles . first time commiting an offence this huge, what if we're caught,my heart skipped a beat at these thoughts.

We boarded a taxi to the hotel,we met the girls at the hallway.hi everyone, Lola waved us before we replied she directly kissed Fred,on the lips,I was so shocked.these are my friends, I heard seven of you will be around , so I brought six of my friends along.she said.

This is Kate , for Chris,lily for Emeka, and for John,bb well her name is Betty but call her bb she kept talking.

The girl I got is Tina ,Tina and kel.what a match I muttered.

The party was going fine for me, until Tina dragged me to a corner.

Kel , do you like me? she asked.

Within ,i was like what a question,I mean who does not like girls.

 Okay,if you like me, can you do this.? she opened a door,I Saw my friends. I was stunned.Ahem! Well, you know what was happening.the most shocking part was Emeka, I thought he was holy.

He was doing it perfectly.i swallowed then slowly turned to her.

Let's do that.she said.

Nope! I shut the door, and shook my head abruptly.

Why? She asked.

I mean ,I just get to know you,why the rush.

Hmm! Okay let's enjoy.She compromised.

The following weeks were all the same through out the session,my scores dropped ,I got lots of suspension letters .

I went home with the only good news I had;Brinnai house captain.uncle was proud.

Returning to school, for my final in secondary school,we went out again during the first week, to the one of the most exquisite hotels around .

While enjoying the scene ,a fight broke out between two gangs ,it turns out they were fighting for a woman, suddenly one of them broke a bottle and stab one of opponent, the whole place was in chaos.soon the sound of guns and police siren could be heard outside the hall.i took to my hills, running as fast as possible,I jumped over the school fence effortlessly.i sneak back to the room panting heavily,I could only hear gunshots in my head.

At the assembly hall

Principal: students yesterday is one of the days this college shall forever remember.some of our students, were discovered, out side the school at night.to have fun,they got involved with thugs and unfortunately one of them was short dead.others who made it would be punished , severely, our school doesn't support immorality and indecency.

Lola okwor as you all know was one of the most brilliant minds the school has to offer, but then ,she fell drastically, now is pregnant for the deceased Fred Bogwu.As a result she will be expelled from the school,s our school does not tolerate immorality.

Chai ,I am finished I said to myself,I was shivering .cold sweat broke from my fore head.

. I only cooled down when I heard my name not, this was a second chance from god.
