Descent Into Chaos : Gathering Information.

Harry's first instinct was to use the Protego charm to shield himself, but then he realised that the Cruciatius curse was an unforgivable curse!

Professor Moody had suppressed that instinct in him well. Not directly, but seeing a spider being tortured as it helplessly *Squealed* in pain worked wonders in that matter.

And so his spell switched mid-flick into a transfiguration spell that transformed the terrain underneath himself into a shield.

Harry thought that would be enough, but he'd underestimated the amount of spirituality Bellatrix had put into the spell.

The green beam of light pierced through the thick earthen shield and hit Harry squarely in the chest, causing him to collapse to the ground writhing and screaming like a little girl.

*AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!*

Loki felt a little worried about Harry but-

'It's alright…I'm sure Harry will be alright.'

'Pretty sure 'Adam' wouldn't let anything happen to his golden boy.'

'Now I need to make it seem like I'm trying to fight back, but the exhaustion of the tournament has caught up with me.'

And so, Loki wasn't spared too since as soon as Bellatrix cast the Cruciats curse on Harry, the middle-aged man beside her flicked his wand too after he spoke with hatred and anger.

"Crucio!!!"

Loki did the same thing as Harry but jumped out of the way just in time for the bolt of green light to pass over his head harmlessly.

But the middle-aged man's control over the curse was excellent, so as soon as Loki ducked underneath it, the curse bent over and crashed right into his head.

An unholy amount of pain passed through Loki's head before he was forced to black out, or so it seemed.

In reality, Loki had managed to keep a sliver of consciousness in him as he abused his body by stealing away his ability to feel pain.

This did something that no one other than Loki could've expected.

The pain, the fatigue and the intense workout of the third task had vanished when he stole his body's ability to feel pain!

This led him to feel extremely comfortable all of a sudden.

To the extent that he was forced to control his expressions to not smile like an idiot when he was being 'tortured' by the Cruciatus curse.

He felt like he was drunk on comfort like a warm blanket in the biting winter cold.

As the comforting situation settled in, Loki kept his body spasming and twitching while *screaming* in pain to sell the effect all while staying perfectly awake as he kept account of what was going on around him.

'All I need to wait for is the moment in time when 'His' advancement ritual begins.'

Loki pretended to pass out eventually when he heard Harry's screams die out and soon found himself bound by ropes to the tombstone that he had seen earlier.

Harry was beside him and was held back by similar ropes tied to the grim reaper statue awning the gravestone.

A spell struck him and Harry straight in the chest, and Loki quietly observed it and quickly realised what it was.

'Rennervate?'

Loki didn't have to remain in the dark about why the spell was used since the middle-aged man spelt it out for them.

"Watch as our Lord returns to the mortal world!"

"LET US GO!!!" Harry shouted while squirming around, trying to break the ropes that bound them.

Loki quickly noticed that the middle-aged man was continuously pumping spirituality into the ropes to keep them tied down so he 'tried his best' to escape from the ropes by 'struggling' around.

"The headmaster is probably already searching for us you old man! It'll be foolish to keep us here any longer! Let us leave!" Loki shouted along with Harry, but it did nothing except make the man's smirk wider.

"Stop him!" Loki and Harry heard a frail but commanding voice speak out from the bundle of rags that the middle-aged man was holding.

Loki didn't understand at first but he quickly understood when-

"You're afraid of Professor Dumb-" Before Harry could finish the name, the middle-aged man flicked his wand and stuffed Harry's mouth with rope, causing Loki to feel a little surprised.

'So 'His' danger premonition kicked in when Harry was about to say 'Adam's' name?'

''He' knows that 'Adam' will know about this place once his name is spoken?'

'....now that I think about it, while normal people fear you-know-who's name, the death eaters and you-know-who fear 'Adam's' name.'

Harry squirmed around again and being so close to him, Loki spotted Harry's eyes turning runic as if he wasn't seeing the world as is, but through the lens of runes, uncovering its runic configuration.

'He's trying to spot the rope's weakness?'

Harry was using the ability of a Sequence 4 Demon Hunter, Eye of Demon Hunting, something that directly showed him the weakness and other factors of his target.

Surprisingly, almost immediately, Harry was able to escape from the ropes for a moment, but the man quickly doubled down and pumped in more spirituality into his spell which slithered around and rebounded Harry's figure.

Loki on the other hand studied the ropes with interest.

'This isn't the simple Incarcerous spell…'

'I wonder what it is…'

Loki silently started to explore the middle-aged man's body of heart and mind and learnt several things.

'Rudolphous Lestrange.'

'...he's worried if Bellatrix will leave him after you-know-who is resurrected?'

'How innocent…'

'...I see…the spell is not a spell at all…the spell is just a transfiguration to make the 'ropes' look like ropes…in reality what's bound around us is a snake of some sort…'

'A hidden card? A trap that you-know-who's planted so that Harry and I can be quickly controlled if something goes wrong?'

'Is the snake a Beyonder too?'

Loki looked at his ropes and shivered a little, but quickly put any thoughts about the snake around him and Harry away.

'As long as it doesn't go into any…weird places.'

Loki's attention was soon distracted towards the bubbling cauldron in front of him where he spotted Bellatrix performing a complicated ritual.

She stood around a large cauldron that was sitting atop an ethereal crimson fire. The blood moon was shining through, giving the fog covering the entire area an eerie look that matched the vibe.

Bellatrix moved to the grave where Harry and Loki were being held and flicked her wand, causing a thick layer of soil in front of the grave to rise into the air and shift to the side to form a small pile.

Loki carefully watched the deep grave that was dug out, trying to understand what was going on.

Bellatrix then sent a curse flying into it causing the coffin inside to explode into splinters.

'What ritual is this?'

'Is this the ritual that I was waiting for?'

'No…his body still hasn't recovered…so this probably isn't it…'

'It's probably to recover his body?'

'Well..I have the disk of wishes in case something like that happens…but it's probably better to have my own method that doesn't rely on that.'

As the dust around the uncovered coffin settled, Belatrix quietly flicked her wand at it and pulled to herself a clean bone.

Harry and Loki observed in 'forced' silence as Bellatrix walked to the cauldron that was on fire.

Then with a solemn tone, Bellatrix spoke after dropping the bone into the cauldron with a soft *plop*, "Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son."

That was when the middle-aged man stepped up to Bellatrix as he handed off the bundle of rags to her, making her almost immediately observe an adorable smile on her face.

'She really adores 'Him'!'

'Poor Mr. Lestrange…he's going to be so disappointed.'

'But to his luck, it seems 'He' feels creeped out by Bellatrix if I'm not wrong…'

The middle-aged man walked towards the cauldron and extended his hand to be above it, "Flesh of the servant, Rodolphus Lestrange, willingly given, you will revive your master."

The man then used his wand to immediately slice off his forearm and drop it into the cauldron with another heavy *splash*.

Finally, after Bellatrix gave the bundle of rags back to her husband, she moved closer to Harry with a sharp knife.

Harry tried to resist by kicking his legs or by using his immense strength to break through the stone statue holding him, but he couldn't.

The ropes adjusted and Loki keenly observed how they grew fangs and bit Harry's arm, causing a stinging pain while inserting poison that started turning him limp.

Harry felt weak and pathetic.

He couldn't do anything as Bellatrix approached with her knife and carved out a simple symbol on his forearm from which she took the required blood by collecting it in a vial.

She then walked back to the cauldron that was now steaming and poured out all the blood taken from Harry.

"Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe."

Except nothing happened.

No flashy changes in the cauldron, no colour changes, no overflowing potion, and no sudden explosions.

The cauldron just hovered steadily above the crimson fire while the crimson moon shone brightly on it.

And just as Loki and Harry were turning confused about what was happening, Loki saw it!

Loki suddenly froze as his eyes locked on and spotted what was in Bellatrix's hand.

'No way!'

'She has a Card of Blasphemy!?'

'Is that the Card for the Death Pathway!?'

Bellatrix simply flicked the card and dropped it into the Cauldron.

And that was it!

The bubbling in the cauldron had suddenly become volatile and relatively loud as Rodolphus Lestrange walked up to the cauldron and then after a final look at the rags in his hand, he dropped them right into the cauldron with a heavy *SPLASH*.
