The Morning Commute

I stepped into the lobby and spotted Madison lingering by the front door. "Sweetie, how come you haven't left yet?" I inquired, striding in her direction. "Well, Mom, the thing is, a driver took me to school yesterday, so I'm not really sure how to get there now," Madison admitted, meeting my gaze.

"Oh, I see, that's quite the predicament. Let's-" Before I could complete my thought, a hand landed on my shoulder, startling me. "No worries, ladies, I've got this," Damien announced from behind me as I whirled around, taken aback by his sudden proximity.

My heart raced as Damien's hand lingered on my shoulder, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through my body. He smiled reassuringly and turned around, addressing Angela, who had materialized nearby. "Angela, please call one of my drivers to take Madison to school," he instructed, his voice calm and authoritative.
