Chapter 4: Training

Two years had passed, Alan is now five years old and today's when he begins his training. With a groan, Alan tossed over in his bed when sunlight shined through his window. "Ugh..." He lifted a pillow and covered his head with it, not really wanting to get up.

But as the realization of the day's events dawned on him, Alan's reluctance gave way to excitement. Today was the day he would begin his training in magic, a prospect that filled him with both anticipation and nervousness. With a determined sigh, Alan pushed the covers aside and swung his legs over the edge of the bed. He stretched his arms high above his head, feeling a sense of energy coursing through him despite the early hour.

"Today's the day," he muttered to himself, a grin spreading across his face. Gathering his resolve, Alan hopped out of bed and began to prepare for the day ahead.

"... I feel like I'm forgetting something..."

Just then he heard the door from the floor below open and close then some chatter between his Moms and who he assumed was Spluff Ivy. "Why's she here so early?"

"Alan! C'mon, get up already. We gotta get goin' for the climb!" she called up to him.

Alan slowly lifted his body up and looked down the ladder to see Spluff Ivy shouting up to him.

"Climb?" he questioned and sat up straight. His eyes widened a bit in realization. "Oh yeah... that mountain climb."

With a sudden rush of memory, Alan recalled the plans they had made for today. They were going on a mountain climb as part of his training. It was a tradition among the Night Lights to embark on such journeys to commune with nature and harness its energy.

Quickly shaking off his drowsiness, Alan sprang into action, hopping out of bed. He could hear the excitement in Spluff Ivy's voice downstairs, and he didn't want to keep her waiting.

As he made his way down the ladder, Alan's anticipation grew. Today was not just about physical exertion; it was also about connecting with the natural world and honing his magical abilities. With each step closer to the adventure awaiting him, Alan felt a surge of determination coursing through him. With that he stood up from his bed and stretchered his arms out while letting out a loud yawn. "Alan!" she yelled again. "I'm coming!" he told her and walked over to his closet where he grabbed his blue and red snow hat. When he closed the closet a small light glimmered from the top of his hand. "Huh?" he mumbled and lifted his left hand up to get a closer look.

There was nothing odd. He always was curious about it though, the design was far too perfect to be natural. But whenever he asked his Moms about it she'd just say it was nothing. He assumed that it's instead a monument or something?

"Alan, we're waiting!"

Spluff Ivy shouted to him from his thoughts and he lowered his hand and put on his backpack then climbed down the ladder. "I'm coming." he told her and walked into the kitchen.

With a sense of curiosity lingering in his mind about the mysterious glimmer on his hand, Alan pushed the thought aside for now and focused on the task at hand. He entered the kitchen where his mothers and Spluff Ivy were waiting, the smell of breakfast filling the air.

"Good morning, Alan!" Alina greeted him with a warm smile as he entered. "Did you sleep well?"

Alan nodded, returning her smile. "Yeah, I did. Ready for the climb," he replied, his excitement bubbling up again.

His mothers and Spluff Ivy exchanged knowing glances, their eyes filled with pride at Alan's eagerness to embark on the adventure.

Alina gave him a plate with an Egg Bagel sandwich on it and a bottle of Orange Juice. "You're a bit late, so eat on your way okay? We'll follow in a few minutes." Alan nodded then turned to Spluff Ivy while taking a bite from the sandwich. "Alright, let's go." he spoke while chewing. Spluff Ivy let out a sigh and opened the door. "Just finish the sandwich before you start talking." Alan nodded again, his mouth still full of food, and quickly finished chewing and swallowing before speaking. "Got it," he said with a grin, taking another bite of his sandwich as they stepped outside. The crisp morning air greeted them as they began their journey towards the mountain. Alan felt a surge of excitement coursing through him, eager to begin the climb and see what challenges awaited him. With each step forward, he felt a sense of determination growing within him, fueled by the support of his mothers and Spluff Ivy by his side. As they made their way towards the towering peak in the distance, Alan couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within him. Today marked the beginning of a new adventure, and he was ready to face whatever obstacles came his way.

On their way up the mountain, Alan finished his breakfast and began chatting with Spluff Ivy about the trip to it's peak.

"I hear there'll be some monsters on the way up... I hope things don't get too rough..." Spluff Ivy said worriedly. Though Alan just gave a shrug "I'm sure we'll be fine. Everyone in town made the journey up after all."

Spluff Ivy and Alina hesitantly nodded "True... But ya' know monsters 'ave been increasing lately... I hear it hasn't been this worse in a few decades..." Alan didn't really know what to say about that. It wasn't really something he could dispute...

Then they heard some footsteps rapidly approaching from behind and the two turned to see Spluff Storm running up to them with something in her mouth. "Huh? What do you have there stormy?" Spluff Ivy asked as she approached. Spluff Storm was holding a staff in her hands with a letter tied to the hilt of it. Spluff Ivy took the staff and gave it to Alan but read the note aloud.

"Dear Spluff Ivy and Alan. The Tor could be rather dangerous at times so I'm going to go ahead and give you this staff. It's not the sturdiest staff, but it'll get the job done.

-Alina

P.S.

Be sure to keep Alan safe, Spluff Ivy."

"Heh, I suppose with you and Storm here we've nothing to worry about!" she said and shoved the letter in her pocket then turned to Alan. He just finished strapping the sword around his back and she got a good look at him now armed. "It looks good on you, plus you've practiced with a sword right?"

Alan nodded confidently. "Yeah, Mom taught me some basic swordsmanship. I'll do my best to keep us safe," he replied, adjusting the sword on his back.

With the staff in hand and Alan's sword at the ready, they continued their ascent up the mountain, the anticipation of what lay ahead mingling with a sense of determination to face whatever challenges came their way.

As they journeyed further, the path grew steeper and the terrain more rugged, but Alan remained focused, his senses sharp and his resolve unwavering. With Spluff Ivy and Spluff Storm by his side, he felt a sense of camaraderie and strength that bolstered his confidence.

Together, they pressed onward, ready to confront whatever dangers awaited them on their quest to reach the peak of the mountain.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The sound came from a gold Star shaped alarm clock. The clock was located on a nightstand beside two beds in a bedroom.

In the warm and welcoming room, there was a comfy looking beds with a girl in it until she woke up. Her long dark pink, shoulder length hair cascading down her back while she rubbed her eyes, adjusting to the light. Her name was Zuzu. Her eyes opened to reveal a warm magenta color. She has a fair complexion with well toned arms and legs.

Stretching her arms above her head, Zuzu yawned and sat up in bed, her gaze falling on the alarm clock. With a soft smile, she reached out to silence its persistent ringing, then glanced at her surroundings, taking in the familiar comforts of her room.

The walls were adorned with posters of her favorite musicians and bands, reflecting her love for music. A small desk in the corner held a stack of notebooks and pens, evidence of her passion for writing and sketching. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room.

After a moment, Zuzu swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, feeling refreshed and ready to start the day. As the morning sun cast a gentle glow through the curtains, Zuzu stirred from her slumber, feeling refreshed and eager to begin her day. With practiced ease, she slipped out of bed and into her signature outfit, the colorful attire reflecting her vibrant personality.

Just as she finished dressing, her mother Cassandra entered the room, accompanied by their playful Sprigatito. Zuzu greeted them with a cheerful smile, already buzzing with excitement for the day ahead.

"Morning, dear!" Cassandra greeted warmly, her voice carrying a hint of amusement at her daughter's boundless energy.

"Good morning, Mom!" Zuzu replied, her enthusiasm infectious as always. She knelt down to greet Sprigatito, exchanging affectionate scratches and nuzzles with their beloved pet.

As they made their way downstairs, Zuzu and Cassandra settled at the kitchen table, savoring the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. It was during this cozy moment that Zuzu revealed the postcard she had received from Professor Frankly, a renowned Pokémon researcher.

Excitement bubbled within her as she discussed her upcoming visit to the professor's laboratory to choose her very first partner Pokémon. With Cassandra's support and encouragement, Zuzu contemplated her options: the steadfast Bulbasaur, the fiery Charmander, or the playful Squirtle.

As Zuzu daydreamed about the adventures that lay ahead with her new Pokémon companion, Cassandra smiled fondly, proud of her daughter's enthusiasm and determination.

With her backpack securely strapped on and her mother's Contest Ribbon tucked safely away, Zuzu mounted her motorscooter, ready to embark on her journey. As the engine roared to life, she set off from her home in Twilight Town, the wind tousling her pigtails as she zoomed along Route 302.

Arriving in Twilight Town, Zuzu's excitement reached a fever pitch as she scanned the bustling streets for signs of Professor Frankly's laboratory. Eager to meet her future partner Pokémon, she dashed into the first building she saw that resembled a lab, only to discover it was a quaint little restaurant.

Undeterred by the setback, Zuzu consulted her map, determined to find her way to the real laboratory. But despite her best efforts, she found herself hopelessly lost in the labyrinthine streets of the town. Just as frustration threatened to overwhelm her, Zuzu collided with an unexpected obstacle: a friendly Goomba who introduced himself as Professor Frankly. With a warm smile, the professor offered to escort her to his laboratory, his knowledge of the town's twists and turns proving invaluable as they navigated the bustling streets together.

Grateful for the professor's assistance, Zuzu followed his lead, her spirits lifted by the promise of finally reaching her destination. Little did she know, this chance encounter was just the beginning of her grand adventure.

Story World was a peaceful, tranquil planet (quiet obvious since it was in the shape of a heart with wings) that was inhabited by many fairies. It was a thriving civilization; everyone worked together to help make the planet the beautiful spectacle that it was, always keeping an eye on the Star Spirits' most precious treasure: The Star Rod. This mystical wand had the power to grant any wish and expel all darkness when it surfaced.

Birds sang harmonious tunes, water trickled from the fountains, the flowers blossomed under the lovely sun. It was a lovely day and the inhabitants of Story World were enjoying every second of it. "Hurry now, Avery! We haven't much time!"

Avery was one of the most heralded fairies of Story World. Not the most intelligent, but she had a heart of gold and was kind to all other beings. She had helped the queen make Story World what it was by becoming one of her right-hand fairies. All fairies younger than her saw Avery as a role model they could identify with. A blue haired fairy flew out to the main gate of the castle to get her friend, a young pink-haired fairy that was cradling a rod in her arms. The Queen of Story World and Mother of all Spluffettes, Kya Adele Shiawasena Mi Amor had called them for an important meeting of the three of them. The two flew into the great hall of the magnificent castle structure, lined with beautiful portraits and sculptures in the long hallway.

"You're struggling, move faster!" Dixie pulled Avery's hand harder as she flew through the halls of the castle up the ascending staircase. She wasn't paying attention and bumped into another fairy that was looking through a telescope.

"What are you in such a hurry for?" Emily asked as she rubbed her bruised forehead.

"Queen has summoned us. What are you looking at?"

"Well," she started as she went back to observing, "it's been getting darker each day, and they haven't called for rain or anything. Something just doesn't feel right."

"You just need to clean that lens or get some glasses!" Dixie called as she and Avery continued on.

They reached the queen's door and rushed in, seeing the queen staring at the Star Rod, which was glowing.

"It only does this when there's trouble afoot," the Queen said, her eyesight not darting from the star rod. "Dixie and Avery, alert the citizens to keep their eyes sharp!"

"You could just give them all a pair of specs like you, your majesty," Avery chuckled to herself.

The queen adjusted her specs as she eyed the rod Avery clutched. "What is this for? Is it your nightlight?"

"It fell from the sky one night, but I don't know from where. All I know is that the words "Super Star" are embedded onto it, but Emily has come upon something." "What's that?" Avery pointed to the sky outside the sole window in the star rod's chamber. The queen looked out and saw that it was indeed a bit darker than it should have been. "Well, it shouldn't be that dark, but we should let the others know." And so the two did. They whisked down the candy cane-like staircase and flew through the main corridor and outside the castle, approaching the center of the town.

"Fellow fairies of Story World," Emily yelled loud enough for all to hear, "there is a possible chance of darkness, possibly a sign of something, heading for our planet."

No one raised a voice of dissent, as a mother fairy stood, her mouth gaped wide open and her bag of groceries now on the ground. She stared with horror as she saw the blanket of darkness head their way. More people turned their attention towards the sky, their looks mirrored that of the mother fairy.

The blanket of darkness sent a shiver down Avery's spine. There was something about it that made it feel so…evil…devoid of all life, but from her outward appearance, you'd think she was about to brave the darkness herself.

It didn't take long before the dark cloud was above the citizens. Normally calm and peaceful, the fairies were in an uproar and began to run around in a crazed frenzy. Some yelled for their young ones to come home, others were simply trying to get to their homes and lock the door. Even the fairy guards took notice at the abnormality before rushing into the palace.

Dixie looked on in fixed horror as the darkness began to cover the rich life that was Story World. Everything in its path was engulfed in the thick black void. All that was pure was now gone in a cloud of evil.

Avery flew faster, faster than she ever could as she approached the castle. She whisked in as the doors locked, barring the darkness…for now.

"This staircase is longer than I thought," Avery muttered to herself as she finally arrived at the top of the ascending stairs. She saw the Queen in a frenzy running 'round and round the coveted Star Rod.

"What are we to do, queen! What are we going to do about the darkness!"

The Queen grabbed the wand, so worried she didn't even notice Avery until she placed the precious wand in her hands.

"You're the only hope left, Avery," the Queen told her confidently, though fear still lurked on her face, "and it's up to you to get help!"

Avery tried to protest. "But my queen--"

Princess Kya easily shook Avery, the fear now more evident. "You must be strong. We can't let that darkness get this wand. If they do, then it's over and our cause will be for nothing! This wand is our only hope of defeating the darkness, and I'm trusting that you can take it somewhere safe."

"But…I'm afraid to go out there alone." Tears were now streaming down Avery's cheeks, as well as the Queen's.

"Have faith that you will succeed, Avery. There is always hope is you believe you'll succeed." The queen then gripped Avery's hand tightly and spoke softly. "Don't worry, we'll be safe and I know you'll be back. For the sake of Story World, Avery, you've got to do it."

The look of fear faded away from Avery's face and was replaced with a strong look of determination. She heard crashes, bangs, and screams of horror from the castle corridors. It would soon be coming for her.

"Quickly now, Avery, you must hasten!"

Avery put the want back in her pockets and gripped the Star Rod tightly. It began to glow profoundly as Avery was blasted out of the castle. She took one last look back at the queen, as she dried her tears and flew towards the stratosphere. She closed her eyes as the Star Rod penetrated the darkness' shield and Avery found she was free. Story World was in major distress, Avery thought, and it was up to her to get help. All was nearly consumed in darkness save for the area she was able to escape from.

"Best I go on," Avery said as she wiped the dry tears from her face, as she pressed on. However, three negative energy balls emanated from the expanding Dark Matter and pursued Avery.

The fairy looked back over her shoulders, never letting go of the Star Rod. The three orbs began to open in the center, revealing villainous red eyes. Avery lost her focus and nearly collided with the asteroids that narrowly missed her. She saw it go on to the dark matter, but it mattered not. The asteroids didn't even faze the dark orb balls, and Avery was becoming desperate.

"For the sake of Story World…" Avery remembered the Queen's words, as she pressed on. She flew faster, racing through space, but the dark orbs went on the offensive. One tried attacking from the right, but Avery dodged it. The second orb went for another strike, but it was a few inches shy of Avery's right foot.

Avery began to sweat bullets, but she couldn't tell at the speed she was flying at. She wanted to protect the stars, but her attention was diverted, so she pressed on what was most important. Unfortunately, this left her wide open. The second dark matter ball looked to the other two, then to the Star Rod, then to Avery. They came to an agreement and gave a great lunge at Avery, knocking her senseless and scattering the star spirits throughout Avalar. The orbs watched, satisfied that their deed was done.

Avery was falling fast, almost certain that she would meet her immediate destruction, when she saw one of the star spirits parallel to her. She flew with the last amount of strength she had left and grabbed the star rod and star spirits, never letting go of it. Her gaze turned towards the yellow star shaped planet she was heading towards as she fell faster and faster. There was no escaping the gravitational field, as Avery's vision began to blur…on and off her vision became distorted until she could hold on no longer.

The fairy took one last attempt to regain altitude, consciousness, and her life, but the efforts remained futile.

"Have faith that you will succeed, Avery. There is always hope is you believe you'll succeed."

Avery remembered the words the queen gave her before she fled Story World. "Story World's fate…is in my hands. I cannot fail them."

Those were Avery's last words before she lost consciousness completely and continued down to the round blue planet.

Back at the Tor, Alan and Ivy started walking down the main path up the Tor and just passed the old monument. The two made it up to the top and started to walk towards the edge to get a better view. Spluff Ivy looked a bit disappointed "I was hoping for it to be all sunny for a good view... But oh well." she then turned to Alan. "Well, we made it. Let's hurry up back down before something worse happens." Just as she said that, they heard very loud wing beats followed by a screech in the distance. The both looked up nervously. "Uh... What was that?" Spluff Ivy asked and Alan withdrew his sword from his sheath. "Something worse, probably."

A bird-like Monster flew out of the clouds and swooped down at the duo. "Whaa-!" they both jumped to opposite sides of the cliff, successfully avoiding a blow from the Bird. However Spluff Ivy slipped a bit and fell off the edge. Luckily she managed to grab on to a stone but she was now dangling for her life. "AHHHHHH!" she screamed.

Alan's heart raced as he watched his 5th mother dangle perilously from the cliff's edge. Without a moment's hesitation, he rushed to her aid, his instincts kicking in as he tried to devise a plan to rescue her. "Spluff Ivy! Hold on!" he called out, his voice filled with urgency. He knelt down at the edge of the cliff, carefully reaching out towards her. "I've got you!"

Spluff Ivy struggled to maintain her grip, her fingers slipping slightly on the rocky surface. She looked up at Alan with a mix of fear and determination. "Hurry, Alan! I don't know how much longer I can hold on!"

Alan's mind raced as he tried to think of a way to pull his mother to safety. Then, he remembered the magic he had used earlier – the fireball that had emerged from his hand. Could he use it again to help her?

Gripping his sword tightly, Alan closed his eyes and focused, summoning the magical energy within him. He could feel the warmth building in his hand, the familiar sensation of power coursing through his veins. With a deep breath, Alan opened his eyes and aimed his hand towards Spluff Ivy. "Hang on tight, Mom!" he shouted, channeling his magic into a concentrated burst of flames.

The fireball shot forth from his hand, streaking across the gap between them with incredible speed. It engulfed the rock beneath Spluff Ivy's fingers, creating a makeshift handhold for her to grasp onto.

"Grab on, Mom!" Alan yelled, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched her reach out towards the newly-formed ledge. With a desperate lunge, Spluff Ivy managed to grab hold of the rocky outcrop, pulling herself to safety just as the flames began to fade.

For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of their heavy breathing as they both caught their breath. Then, Alan looked up at his mother with relief and gratitude shining in his eyes.

"I've got you, Mom," he said, a smile spreading across his face. "I'll always have your back."

"Sweet Niblets!" Alan scoffed and ran towards her. Just as she lost her grip, he reached down and grabbed hold of her arm with both his hands, trying to hoist her up to safety... Unsuccessfully "Ugh!" he grunts. Lifting up another person sounded easier than it was apparently.

Another screech could be heard from above and the Bird Monster was swooping down to make another swipe at the two. Both of them had terrified looks on their faces and there was no way either of them could put up any kind of defense in the positions they were in. Alan clenched his eyes shut, waiting for the worst to happen. "Darn it!"

His hand mark then started glowing even brighter than before and it caught both his and Spluff Ivy's attention. "Huh?!" they both gasped and the same mark appeared high in the sky above them and a strong bolt of lightning shot straight down, shooting through the Giant Bird shocking and burning it to a crisp. It promptly then fell out of the sky and plummeted to the bottom. The mark in the sky vanished and the light from his mark dissipated. The two of them simply stared ahead in shock. Alan was the first to snap out of it and finally managed to pull Spluff Ivy back on the cliff. She stood up straight and looked straight at him, both rather flabbergasted. "Ugh..." Alan mumbled and lifted his left hand up to look at his hand mark again.

"Alan... Just... What WAS that?" she asked, looking like a mix of amazed and concerned. "... I don't know... But it happened before, when I used that fire spell..." The two stayed silent for a few moments after that, neither knowing how to procede.

Spluff Ivy then placed her hand on his shoulder "W- well.. How about we start your training?" Alan nods slowly and the two begin alan's self defense training. Alan had two sticks while Ivy had her walking stick, thus the two go in their battle stance and begin combat. He charges at Ivy with his dual sticks but Ivy blocks his attack and pushes him back and does a counter attack by jumping in the air and tries to land a staff slam at him but he blocks it and pushes her away too. The two continue sparring with alan getting the upper hand, but he begins struggling against his mom with their sticks connecting. Until he uses his tail to grab ivy's ankle, and she falls down and ends up surrounded on the edge.

"Phew! Good work, alan." Ivy said as she is helped back up by her son.

"Thanks Mom. You weren't so bad yourself." Alan compliments her.

As they caught their breath, Alan and Spluff Ivy exchanged smiles, a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect between them. Despite their intense spar, there was no animosity between mother and son, only a shared sense of pride in each other's abilities.

"You're really improving, Alan," Spluff Ivy remarked, patting him on the back. "I'm proud of how far you've come."

Alan grinned, feeling a sense of accomplishment at his progress. "Thanks, Mom. I couldn't have done it without your guidance."

With their training session concluded, Alan and Spluff Ivy began to make their way back down the mountain, the bond between them stronger than ever. As they walked, they discussed their plans for the future and the adventures that awaited them. Together, they knew they could overcome any obstacle that came their way, as a team united in both heart and spirit.

The next training session was archery, so he and ivy head to the archery field as storm teaches him archery. Alan focuses on stormy's form of shooting arrows and sees how it's done. Alan picks up a bow and fires an arrow at a target and succeeds hitting the center target.

With Storm's guidance, Alan honed his archery skills, carefully observing her technique and mimicking her movements. As he picked up the bow and aimed at the target, he felt a surge of determination coursing through him. Drawing back the arrow, he focused on his target with unwavering concentration. With a steady hand and a controlled breath, Alan released the arrow, watching as it soared through the air with precision. His heart raced as he waited for the verdict, and then, with a satisfying thud, the arrow struck the center of the target, right on the bullseye.

A sense of accomplishment washed over Alan as he glanced back at Spluff Ivy, who beamed with pride at his success. "Well done, Alan!" she exclaimed, giving him a congratulatory pat on the back.

Flushed with excitement, Alan eagerly retrieved his arrow and prepared for another round of practice, his determination to master the art of archery burning brighter than ever. With Storm's patient guidance and Spluff Ivy's unwavering support, he knew he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

The last training session was magic lessons, where alan learns about spells and alchemy.

In Ivy's hut, Alan is conjuring a potion by mixing together some ingredients. As Bloom entered Spluff Ivy's house, she was greeted by the sight of Alan diligently working on a potion in the cauldron. Intrigued by what he was doing, she couldn't help but ask Spluff Ivy about it.

"It is a potion with astonishing properties. It was an old hermit who revealed the recipe to me!" Spluff Ivy explained with a hint of excitement in her voice. Bloom's curiosity was piqued, and she watched attentively as Alan continued his potion-making process.

Alan then turned to Bloom and the others, a smile playing on his lips as he explained the purpose and effects of the potion. With practiced hands, he carefully administered the potion to a nearby plant, demonstrating its remarkable effects on its growth and vitality.

Bloom and the others observed in amazement as the plant began to flourish, its leaves becoming greener and healthier before their eyes. Alan's mastery of potion-making was truly impressive, and Bloom couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the magical world unfolding before her.

As Alan finished his demonstration, Bloom couldn't contain her excitement. "That's incredible, Alan! You have quite the talent for potion-making," she exclaimed, impressed by his skills.

With a modest smile, Alan nodded in gratitude, appreciating Bloom's words of praise. With his newfound knowledge of spells and alchemy, he felt more confident than ever in his abilities to navigate the magical realm alongside his friends and family. Alan beamed with pride as he watched the plant grow and flourish before their eyes, the once small and dull specimen now transformed into a vibrant and beautiful flower. He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment at the success of his potion.

"Thanks, Bloom! I'm glad you liked it," Alan said, feeling a rush of excitement at the positive reaction to his work. He glanced over at Spluff Ivy, who nodded approvingly, her eyes reflecting her pride in his progress. With newfound confidence, Alan continued to experiment with different spells and potions, eager to unlock the full potential of his magical abilities. As he delved deeper into the world of magic, he knew that with the support of his friends and family, he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

"Good work! Now onto spell casting. Let's start with the basic"

Alan stood there and started listening to Atta.

"First, start by feeling the magic in your body ."

Atta seems to be teaching from the beginning of the magic book.

Alan focused his attention as Atta guided him through the basics of spellcasting. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to center himself. He tried to sense the magical energy flowing within him, just as he had learned earlier.

As he concentrated, Alan could feel a tingling sensation spreading throughout his body, like a gentle current of energy pulsating within him. It was a strange but exhilarating feeling, and he couldn't help but marvel at the sensation.

"Good, Alan. Now, focus on channeling that energy into your hands," Atta instructed, her voice calm and encouraging.

Alan nodded, his brow furrowing with concentration as he directed the flow of magical energy towards his hands. He could feel the power building within him, a warm and vibrant force waiting to be unleashed. "Once you've gathered enough energy, visualize your desired outcome and release it with intent," Atta continued, her guidance steady and reassuring. With Atta's words in mind, Alan focused on the image of a small flame dancing in his palm. He could see it vividly in his mind's eye, its warm glow flickering against the darkness.

Slowly, he opened his eyes and extended his hand, willing the energy to manifest into reality. With a whispered incantation, he released the built-up magical energy, and to his amazement, a small flame ignited in his palm, casting a soft glow in the dimly lit room.

A smile spread across Alan's face as he gazed at the flickering flame, a sense of accomplishment washing over him. With each new step in his magical journey, he felt more confident in his abilities, eager to continue his training and unlock the full extent of his powers. "Oh, I've done the basics already. However Since I studied only with the books, I can only use up to the elementary magics"

"Here. I'll show it to you."

Alan faces the training ground and turns his right hand up.

"Water ball"

When he cast his magic, a one-meter water ball came out of his right hand flew vigorously and destroyed the target. "How was that?", When he turned his back, both Ivy and Atta was stunned. Atta, who was stiffened, began to move. "… No chanting. The level of magic is high. And looking at the scale of his magic, it seems like he also has a blessing. A genius?" Atta Answered while wiping her sweat with her hand. Atta's assessment left Alan feeling a mixture of pride and curiosity. He had always known that he had a natural affinity for magic, but hearing it confirmed by someone as knowledgeable as Atta was both validating and humbling.

"Thanks," Alan replied, a hint of sheepishness in his tone. He hadn't expected his magic to impress Atta and Ivy to this extent, but he was grateful for their encouragement.

As he turned to face them, Alan couldn't help but wonder about the blessing that Atta mentioned. He had heard stories of individuals blessed with extraordinary abilities, but he had never considered that he might be one of them.

"Does that mean I have some special talent or something?" Alan asked, his curiosity piqued. He was eager to learn more about his newfound abilities and how he could further develop them.

"Oh, Mom, use this towel"

Nonchalantly, he took a towel from the item box and handed it to Atta.

""eh""

"Hmm?"

Alan raised his head without knowing why they became surprised.

Atta and Ivy exchanged puzzled glances, clearly taken aback by Alan's casual demeanor. They seemed surprised by his nonchalant attitude towards using the item box, which was typically a feat reserved for those with advanced magical abilities or special privileges.

"Alan, did you just..." Ivy began, her voice trailing off as she struggled to find the right words.

"Yeah, I just pulled it out of the box. What's the big deal?" Alan asked, genuinely confused by their reaction. He had grown so accustomed to using the item box that he didn't see anything remarkable about it.

Atta cleared her throat, her expression a mix of astonishment and curiosity. "Alan, do you realize what you just did? Using the item box is an advanced magical skill that most people can't even comprehend, let alone perform. And you did it so effortlessly," she explained, her voice tinged with awe.

Alan blinked in surprise, finally realizing the significance of his actions. He hadn't realized that using the item box was considered an advanced magical skill, let alone one that garnered such attention.

"Oh, I didn't know that," Alan replied, a hint of embarrassment coloring his cheeks. Despite his modesty, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at his newfound ability.

The girls were amazed again as Item Box is a rare skill that only wizards could do. He is then able to use fire, air, tech, and other elements with ease.

As Alan continued to demonstrate his mastery over various magical elements, the awe and amazement of Ivy, Atta, and the girls only grew. Each spell he cast was executed with precision and finesse, showcasing his innate talent and proficiency in magic.

"Wow, Alan, you're incredible!" Ivy exclaimed, her eyes shining with admiration. "I've never seen anyone wield magic like this before." Atta nodded in agreement, her expression one of deep respect. "Indeed, Alan, your control over the elements is truly remarkable. It's clear that you have a natural affinity for magic."

The girls chimed in with their own expressions of astonishment, marveling at the dazzling display of magical prowess before them. Alan couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at their praise, knowing that his hard work and dedication to mastering magic had paid off.

On a quiet lane somewhere in a kingdom called Far Far Away, a monorail passes overhead as egg-shaped litterbots trundle here and there, picking up litter.

Watching out through the monorail window a two-toned red hair foxgirl with magneta eyes named Amy Sparkle. As the monorail stopped, she exited and made her way to the academy accompanied by her Eevee. It seemed like just another normal day for her, but deep down, they yearned for the excitement and adventure seen in their favorite shows—aliens, time travelers, ghosts, monsters, espers, and evil organizations.

Compared to the normal life she led, the fantastical world of those flashy shows was much more thrilling. Anyone would want to live in such a world! As she entered the academy, the sense of anticipation for something extraordinary lingered in her hearts.

In class, Amy found herself seated next to a new girl named Yuma Kotori. Yuma was a 12-year-old girl with fair skin and long light green hair with green bangs. Her golden eyes shone brightly, and she wore a white sleeveless schoolgirl outfit with a red collar and skirt.

"Hi, I'm Amy Sparkle," she introduced herself with a friendly smile. "And this is Eevee."

"Eevee!" Eevee greeted cheerfully.

Yuma smiled warmly in return. "Nice to meet you, Amy. I'm Yuma Kotori. And this is my partner, Fennekin." She motioned to the small fox Pokémon at her feet, which gave a friendly bark.

As the class began, Amy, Eevee, and Yuma quickly became friends. They chatted about their favorite shows, their dreams of adventure, and the exciting possibility of encountering the extraordinary in their own lives. The day passed with lessons and laughter, but the desire for something more thrilling always remained in the back of their minds. Little did they know, their wishes for excitement and adventure were about to come true in ways they could never have imagined.

"Second-period gym will now begin," the voice of the PA announced through the speaker. "All students, please report to the field house." The assembled students, all in their P.E. uniforms, gathered in the field house. A girl vaulted over a tower of six vault boxes, while others lined up to take their turns. The rest of the girls waited off to the side, chatting and stretching. Amy sat alone and disconsolate on the floor when Amy ran up to her. "Hey, Yuma... are you gonna try another leap over those twenty blocks again?" she asked. Yuma held a bat-shaped key in one palm, then closed it and held it to her chest; even though she had it, her confidence was still missing.

"Not today," Yuma told her red-haired friend.

"Oh..." Amy was unnerved and saddened by her reaction.

Later, during swimming, Amy called out to Yuma from the water while she sat on shore dipping her feet. "Yuma! Wanna try an underwater lap?" she asked, but Amy replied, "Not really..." The girl splashed water at Yuma, hitting her in the face.

At that moment, Amy showed up again, hoping for a response from the green haired girl. "Hey. What's wrong?" Amy asked, worried about her new friend.

"Oh, nothing, Amy. It's just... I don't swim a lot,." Pool water dripped from the bat key around her neck.

"Really, is it because you can't swim" Amy said, pulling Amy into a comforting hug. "If that's it, I can help teach you if you'd like." She tried to cheer her friend up. This made Yuma smile and blush a bit and accepts. They then talked about the recent and frequent occurrence of shooting stars in the area. As they walked into the school's shoe rack entrance, another girl overheard them and explained that shooting stars are actually drifting meteors attracted by the Earth's gravity. She added that people used to make wishes on these stars before heading off to class.

As Amy and Yuma listened to the explanation about shooting stars, Yuma's mood began to lift slightly. The idea of making wishes on the stars sparked a glimmer of hope within her, reminding her of the power of dreams and aspirations.

"You know, maybe we should make a wish on the next shooting star we see," Zuzu suggested with a smile, trying to brighten Amy's spirits further.

Amy nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Yeah, let's do it. Maybe our wishes will come true."

With a shared sense of optimism, they continued on their way to class, their conversation turning to more lighthearted topics as they left behind the worries of the morning. As they stepped into the bustling hallways of the school, Amy couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation, wondering what the future held and holding onto the hope that their wishes would indeed be granted.

As evening settled in, Amy and her Pokémon are in the courtyard, excited about the slumber party at Amy's mansion. There was only one day left until summer vacation, and after that, they would face the entrance exams for Canterlot's new academy for girls. Amy suddenly remembered that she had forgotten her notebook in her reading classroom. "Oh no, I forgot my notebook! Eevee, let's go get it," she said, rushing off with Eevee in tow.

Meanwhile, Yuma sat on a desk by the window, watching the sunset. Feeling it was a good time to stretch her wings, she revealed her large bat wings and showed her fangs, exposing her true nature as a vampire. Three bats fluttered around her, adding to the eerie scene. Back with Amy, she and Eevee arrived at the door. "I can't believe I almost forgot my notebook," she said, shaking her head at her own clumsiness. She opened the door and stopped in her tracks, her eyes widening in shock.

There, in the classroom, was Yuma with her wings, cat ears, long tail, and fangs out, surrounded by bats. The sight left Amy and Eevee speechless and stunned.

Yuma turned and saw them, equally shocked to be discovered. "Amy! Eevee!" she gasped, her eyes wide with fear and surprise. Both Amy and Eevee screamed in shock. Yuma quickly retracted her wings and changed her cat ears back into her pointed ears and covered her mouth, hiding her fangs and hid her tail. She slowly got off the desk, her eyes filled with worry as she faced Amy and Eevee, who were still processing what they had just seen.

Yuma kept her hands covering her mouth as she stepped closer to Amy. "You didn't see that...did you?" she asked in a soft, shy tone.

Amy, caught off guard, stammered, "What?! No, no, no...I-I...We saw nothing." She tried to lie, hoping to ease Yuma's embarrassment. "I swear we saw nothing..."

Yuma looked deeply into Amy's eyes, searching for the truth. "You did! You so did! I can see it in your eyes!" she shouted, her voice filled with embarrassment. A bat fluttered out the window, adding to the tension.

Eevee, sensing the tension, tilted its head, trying to gauge the situation. With her secret exposed, Yuma sighed and decided to explain everything.

"Okay, Yes, we saw you," Amy admitted, her voice trembling. "I'm a witch. I've been trying to keep it a secret because I didn't want anyone to treat me differently or be afraid of me." Yuma explained.

Amy took a step closer, her expression softening. "Yuma, we're your friends. We won't treat you any differently. I was just shocked, that's all." Yuma looked at her, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "You're...You're not afraid of me? But... what if others find out? What if they don't accept me?"

Amy reached out and gently placed a hand on Yuma's shoulder. "We'll figure it out together. You're not alone in this. We promise to keep your secret safe."

Eevee nodded in agreement, "Eevee!"

Yuma's eyes welled up with tears, a mix of relief and gratitude. "Thank you, Amy. Thank you, Eevee. It means a lot to me."

Amy smiled warmly. "Come on, let's get my notebook and head home."

As they walked back to the courtyard, Zuzu's curiosity got the better of her. "Yuma, can I ask you something?"

Yuma nodded, still feeling a bit uneasy but grateful for Amy's support. "Of course, Amy. What is it?"

"Um, were you born a vampire, or were you bitten by one?" Amy asked gently, hoping she wasn't prying too much.

Yuma sighed softly, her gaze dropping to the ground for a moment. "I was born a vampire. My family has a long history of being vampires. We've learned to live among humans and keep our true nature a secret."

Amy's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, that must have been difficult. Do your parents know about your friends here at school?"

Yuma nodded. "Yes, they do. They've always encouraged me to make friends and live as normal a life as possible. But they also taught me to be careful and keep our secret safe."

Eevee looked up at Yuma with understanding eyes, and Amy gave her a reassuring smile. "Well, I'm glad you trusted us with your secret, Yuma. We're here for you, no matter what."

As they reached the courtyard, the sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the school grounds. Amy and Eevee was already setting up for the slumber party, chatting and laughing. Yuma took a deep breath, feeling more at ease with Amy and Eevee by her side.

"Thanks, Amy. I really appreciate it," Yuma said, her voice filled with gratitude.

"Anytime, Yuma. Let's head to the docks, there's a couple of friends coming." Amy replied with a grin.
