Riya wailed loudly.
" Shiva how much she suffered. He rinsed the life out of her. She did not even get a proper cremation", she cried for that pure and innocent girl.
Now she realised why dancing made her panic? And why she can't tolerate a crowd? She also realized the importance of discarded idols in Gunjan's life. Debarred from temple she would often visit discarded idols kept in forest, crying her heart out at their feet wishing to turn into mud with them.
" Srikant Pundit you are a monster. I hate you. Whatever form you take you will remain a sinner, a culprit for me. I Riya Sachdeva vow to serve you justice".
She really looked like Goddess Kali ready to vanquish her enemy and consume his blood.
" Forgiveness makes a person great. It is one of the virtue that does not come easily", she heard a voice.
She turned.
Agni stood sadly at a corner.
" I remember everything ", she said.
" Yes", he said.
" You were there. You knew", she cried. " You tried to help her", she said gratefully.
" I tried", he said said with a sigh.
" Don't blame yourself punditji. You are not him. The crimes he committed", she turned red with anger.
" Poor innocent girl. She was tricked, used and punished for crimes she not even committed ", said the priest. " But her husband's wrong choices. Death liberated her".
" But the culprit walked away scott free", she said in anger. " He lives, eats, breath and enjoy life".
" Is that what you think child", said Agni.
" Its what I know", she roared. " I am a witness to his licentiousness . Why didn't you tell me the truth punditji? Like a fool I believed he mourned me and he was tortured by my death."
" But he is a tortured soul my child", said Agni.
" Like hell he is", she said petutantly. " Did he lose his virtue? Shameless b*st*rd.".
SHE WAS OUT OF CONTROL. Agni sent a mental message to Srikant to meet him at the temple.
" So what is he? What did Shiva made him? A blood sucking vampire that he is or a demon", she asked.
" He is none of those", said Agni. " He is mere a human Gunjan. Like us", said Agni.
" I am nothing like him", she retorted.
" Was he cursed", she asked.
" Its not my story to tell you Gunjan. All I tell you is to give him a chance to explain" he said.
" How many punditji", she cried. " How many chances he want? He kept me in dark deliberately. I was all set to marry him".
" He would have told you eveything before marriage", said Agni.
" Haa", she scoffed. Then as if she remembered something she asked. " Why can't I remember my child? What did he do?"
" He put mental barriers on your brain", answered Agni honestly. " You were mad with grief when your son died. He couldn't see you in pain".
" Really. My pain", she cried."Does he even feel it. He deprived me of memories of my child".
" But he remembers Gunjan", said Agni.
" And he suffers everyday, every night, every hour, every minute and every second of his life. Has been suffering from centuries".
" Doesn't make him less of a sinner", she said. " As for his sufferings HE TOTALLY DESRVES IT".
" I do", came a deep voice filled with guilt.
She knows this voice. It was the last voice she wished to hear or the one person she did not want to meet. But..
Gunjan its time for justice
Riya slowly turned back and looked in his direction.
He stood there. Quietly. Ready to take in her ire. Still as handsome as always. A dark angel . NO A FALLEN ONE. The Sinner The Devil. Her love, her husband. The reason of her disgrace and untimely death.
Her eyes burned with fire. A pain of thousand thorns hit her head and heart. She did not hold back.
"Aaaaaaaahhhh", she wailed in pain. She sobbed loudly. She cried for her broken heart and Gunjan's battered soul.
" Nooo" , he ran to her.
" STAY WHERE YOU ARE", she roared.
He halted in his tracks.
" What shall I address you as Srikant or Ranjeet Singh or your new moniker Vikram Oberoi ", she cried in pain. " Does changing names makes you less of a sinner your highness"?
" I am just your Sahib Gunjan. And even fires of hell will not burn my sins away", he answered as tears flew from his eyes.
" So I am fit to enter temple now. This flower", she pointed to herself, " Isn't stale anymore. I am different from Shalini now. She disgusts you.Do you think your sin is less than hers?"
" It is way bigger than hers", he replied
" Are you here to ask for my forgiveness Mr. Oberoi? Because you sure are not getting it", she said in anger.
" I never asked for forgiveness Gunjan. Not from Shiva and not from you. I ask punishment not forgiveness", he said. " Do your worse Gunjan. I will accept it quietly."
" Ohh will you Your highness", she said sarcastically.
" Gunjan he has suffered a lot", Agni tried to mediate.
" No punditji I have not", he said.
" On that we agree Srikant Pundit", cried Riya. " You seek punishment right".
" Yes".
" Well then take it", she threw his ring in his face.
"I SHALL NEVER MARRY A SINNER LIKE YOU. I AM BREAKING THIS ENGAGEMENT. YOU ROT IN HELL".
He felt his life ebbing away.
" No Riya please no don't do this", he cried.
" What happened King Ranjeet singh. Not ready to keep your promises again. Well nothing new there", she scoffed.
" I beg you Riya". Vicky fell on her feet.
She kicked him hard. He staggered back.
" I begged you too. I begged you not to let me walk half naked in front of others. I was ready to be your slave", she sobbed.
" Riya", he crawled to her.
" If you come near me again I will jump off the cliff killing myself. I don't wish to see your face. I will never be your wife again.".
" No no", he cried.
She walked away. She never once glanced back at him.For you Gunjan she promised herself.
Justice was served.
