Leus' control over the spell wasn't bad

'I guess learning Flame helped me with that, but I still need more training'

First, Leus decided to focus on increasing his Mana Pool ...

He created many small fireballs and tried to maintain them for as long as possible, and when his Mana Pool reached critical levels, he would release them and sleep until it was full again.

Then repeat the process ...

He kept doing that for a couple of weeks ...

During these days, nothing special really happened ...

Viorica spent most of her time either doing housework or teaching Amethyst different things, and after a couple of clever tricks, she also managed to convince Merlin to start studying.

So while Leus was training outside, his siblings would be studying inside.

Time passed, and Leus only stopped his training to eat or sleep ...

The only thing he focused on was his Magic

At first, Leus thought that he'd easily master everything before the two years are over

And so, he continued ...

When Leus reached the age of two years and eight months old, he decided that he no longer needed to focus solely on his Mana Pool

Sure, it wasn't perfect nor as big as Leus wanted it to be, but it was more than enough to allow him to train for a long time without problems

So Leus went back to focusing on spells ...

He started to cast Fireball silently, but this time, he changed the spell's speed and size to be as big as possible and launched it into the air ...

A fireball the size of a head was flung into the air

He altered the spell's size and speed a couple of times ...

'It isn't really that much of a difference ...'

'Basically, any should work'

'I'll stick with skull-sized fireballs and maximum speed'

After Leus decided which fireball would be his primary focus, he wanted to try something interesting

'What if I explode the fireball in the middle of the air?'

A smirk appeared on his face

'Shouldn't that be interesting?'

He cast his skull-sized fireballs and launched them into the air again, and this time, he willed them to explode ...

' ... Well that's disappointing'

The explosion was tiny, to say the least ...

'It hardly sounded like someone had snapped his fingers'

It looked a bit cool, but it certainly wouldn't do any damage

' ... Unless I make the size huge'

When Leus got this thought, he decided to spend all his remaining Mana on creating a single, huge fireball ...

He cast the Fireball and kept feeding it with Mana, and so, the fireball kept expanding and expanding, consuming all the mana it could ...

It kept growing until it became 7 times bigger than the normal skull-sized fireball ... That's when Leus stopped.

'If I make it bigger, then I won't have enough mana to launch or explode it'

He launched the big ball and ...

'The speed is extremely slow ...'

To Leus, it felt as if he was slowly pushing the fireball up rather than launching it ...

Luckily, he had enough Mana to make it reach high enough that it wouldn't damage the house or the surroundings if it exploded ...

When it was high enough, he willed the spell to explode

BOOOOOOOM!

The fireball burst in a brilliant flash, momentarily lighting up the area like a midday sun ...

It was so bright that Leus had to avert his gaze because of the blinding light show ...

The sound that followed was thunderous, leaving a ringing in Leus' ears ...

Leus' mouth was simply agape; he froze in place.

After a couple of moments, a rush of warm wind washed over Leus, bringing him back to reality ...

'WOW!'

'Damn ...'

'For a moment, it felt like the sun was on top of my head'

'This explosion was absolutely spectacular!'

Leus was genuinely impressed by his work

'It's the best fireworks I've ever seen in my life!!!'

While Leus was complimenting himself, Viorica came out of the house hurriedly and spoke in a panicked voice

"LEUS, Are you okay?????"

Leus just looked at her confused

'Why would I not be okay?'

Viorica looked around her for a couple of seconds and found nothing out of the ordinary, Then the realization hit her

"Leus, Did - Did you do that?"

"Do what?" Leus' voice was very tired; the adrenaline he got from seeing the explosion had waned off, and he had already spent most of his Mana ...

'I want to sleep ... my brain is barely functioning ...'

Viorica's loud voice made him refocus

"That ... I don't know? What happened just now, did you do it? That explosion?"

Leus' eyes slightly widened in realization

"Oh, you mean the fireball?"

He nodded proudly

"Yes, it was my spell"

"Spell? Does the book have such dangerous spells?"

'Ahh .. Right, It shouldn't have been that big'

Leus tried to explain

"Not exactly ... Ummm ... that's my personal version of the spell, I was trying to explode a big fireball in the air"

Leus just yawned and nodded

Leus went to his room, and Viorica stood in the yard

'Leus is so scary sometimes'

The next day, Leus got up and went to the garden to start his training as usual ...

'I want to try launching two fireballs at the same time, and smashing two into each other'

'But still, it helps me understand the spell better and be ready for any unexpected situation'

'More importantly, it's fun and cool'

So he started experimenting with different ideas ...

However, while Leus was busy in his training, a man's voice interrupted him ...
