Racism in North Korea is a phenomenon that is relatively poorly

understood, as it involves the complex interplay of historical,

ideological, and cultural factors.

The North Korean media and

government often use Korean ethnic nationalism and the concept of

“pure blood” to promote a sense of racial superiority and loyalty

among the people. However, this does not necessarily mean that

North Koreans are hostile or discriminatory towards black people or
